This was, without exaggeration, the most egregious experience I’ve ever had with a vacation rental. We stayed at this property from July 27–30, 2025 and arrived to find it in an unacceptable and unsanitary state:•Dirty towel left on the floor•Smudged glass doors•Empty alcohol shooters, bottle caps, and cigarette butts scattered in and around the pool•Goggles floating in the pool•Food left in the microwave•Overgrown and unkempt yardWe immediately contacted the property manager, sent photos, and requested cleaning. While we were told it would be addressed, no timeline was confirmed. We even left the property all day Monday, July 28, to give them the opportunity to clean, but no one ever came during the day. Eventually, my dad had to take matters into his own hands and clean the pool himself just so we could use it safely—something no paying guest should ever have to do.That night around 8 PM, someone finally came to clean but admitted that the owners do not pay them enough to do a thorough cleaning,only the sheets and bathrooms. Nothing else was properly addressed. On top of that, the master bedroom bed was broken, as was the remote for the TV.The pool and yard remained otherwise untouched for the entirety of our stay, and we could not fully enjoy the outdoor space we were paying for. Despite repeated follow-ups with both the host and VRBO, nothing meaningful was done.
We were looking forward to enjoying s’mores here (one of the main reasons we chose this property). However, the yard was extremely over grown we couldn’t walk over there.

Nice House for a Great Springtime Trip to Texas Hill Country

We enjoyed our stay at this house during our visit to lake area around Austin. Nice view, sunrise direct east - Pool & upper deck were enjoyed. Liked the set up of the house, provided privacy for our group.Good location. We would stay here again.

Relaxing home with great views and community amenities

We wanted a relaxing quiet place to celebrate birthdays and found this place and thought it would be great especially since there is a pool and Texas is a scorcher in the summer. The house is in a great location to get away from the hustle and bustle. It’s about 30 mins from the closest Austin neighborhood of Cedar Park. The house is nice but could use a little TLC. When we arrived the pool was not ready for use and the previous renters had left some trash on the grounds. I contacted the management company about the pool and they were quick to respond and sent pool maintenance out to fix the issue which was corrected and we were able to enjoy the pool for the rest of the stay. The house is in a community with a nicely appointed gym which was great to have access to during the vacation. There could be more seating in the living area as it was a little cramped for 4 people. However, if you plan to spend most of your time outside it shouldn’t be an issue. The lake was low but that was to be expected and we didn’t plan on a lot of lake time anyway with the pool on the property. Overall we appreciated the responsiveness of the management company and the location and amenities and would stay here again in the future.

Stay on Lake Travis

We used the house for a Spring Break get away. We were a little disappointed that the house is not really located by anything at all. That could be our fault for not doing more research, but also we were going to be okay with it knowing that the house had a pool. Upon arrival the grass in the back yard was above knee high leading to the pool area and there was trash floating in the pool so we never even used it. The house itself is a good house. For the most part had everything we needed, just a few things we never used because they were either dirty or unkept.

Great getaway

We went with another family for Spring Break to get away for a bit. The house was comfortable and clean, pool was great. Loved that there was a well-appointment gym a short walk away to which we had access. Everything we needed was a short drive away, and there were great activities within an hour's drive

Unexpected Surprises

We all enjoyed our stay at Point Venture! Beautiful drive through the hills (unexpected surprise) to a beautiful house - that was exactly as pictured! The welcoming committee consisted of several deer (unexpected surprise) that we saw throughout our stay. A part of Texas that none of us had experienced - a beautiful setting! One thing to be aware of... all of the sites we wanted to see were quite a drive away (as were grocery stores). Take supplies with you - and enjoy a wonderful get-away!

Celebratory Family Weekend

The house was fantastic for all age groups, we celebrated an 80th Birthday and Baby Shower with family. Plenty of space inside for everyone, outdoor spaces were perfect for the evenings. pool was beautiful, short walk to the marina. Great long weekend
