Overall happy with our stay. Upstairs bedroom with bunk beds never cooled down, the whole house would be comfortable at 70 and that room was 80. Pool was kind of dirty, seemed to be a lot of sediment on the bottom and it was cloudy looking from the time we checked in. Some of the info shared post booking should be more transparent on the property details listing to better inform travelers of this is the property they want to stay. Listing says sleeps up to 16. We had 13 of us and many were sleeping on couches and the floor. Assuming the bunk beds were counted as sleeping 2 per bed, which is not realistic.

Stay was great

We had a fantastic stay at this property! Everything was just as described—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The space was perfect for our family, with plenty of room to relax and enjoy some quality time together. The location was great and made it easy to explore the area, but we also found ourselves just enjoying the house itself. You can tell the hosts put care into making sure guests feel welcome. We’d definitely love to come back!

The Pros and Cons

Pros - The house was beautiful (comfortably accommodated 16 people). The infinity pool was awesome. I do wish the hot tub worked but we were given a heads up that it was not operable and wouldn't be fixed. The hike to the lake is quite steep but well worth it as there is a dock with direct access to the lake. The property manager was also very responsive. Cons- The refrigerator did not work. The property manager did have the maintenance guy come out twice but couldn't get it fixed. We winded up having to use the fridge in the recreation room so that was a bit of an inconvenience as we cooked a lot. The fan in the main master bedroom does not work but we were told it doesn't do much even if it did. The water is also not drinkable - it has a high salt content so make sure to bring your own water for coffee and drinks. The copper sinks had green stains. The master shower was a bit tricky to use; there are 3 handles that must be turned to get the water to come out. After showering you also feel like you smell of pennies which i'm assuming is from the salt water and copper pipes. We were able to get past all of that considering that we spent a lot of time outside at the pool and lake. There are about 90 plus steps to get to the lake/dock and the railing is missing halfway down so use caution getting down to the dock. Overall, the family enjoyed the trip and the outdoor time.

Fantastic family getaway

We stayed here for a large family getaway with a mix of locals and non locals, age range from late 20s to 70s, it was absolutely perfect. The pool and game room were in constant use, plenty of space for everyone, terrific common areas and just a stunning property. The host was above and beyond, highly responsive and so friendly. We will definitely be back!

Great house

House was pretty good overall. Beware of the water source. The well water is extremely salty and not drinkable. we lost a day of being able to use the pool and all of the shower and sink water is well water which was not described in the bio. The host got the pool cleaner to the house and had the pool ready to use within 8 hours of arriving which we appreciated. Other than that the house was great.

Review

I will be writing a negative review on the stay to let other future renters know. Overall it was not a terrible experience but the house was dirty when we arrived like you can tell it has not been deep cleaned. The amount of bugs inside was insane and I know and understand the location but spider webs and dead bugs have been there awhile. There was trash just under beds and behind furniture. The outside furniture was so gross and I cleaned, that’s the best part of the house. The pool was not cleaned. Many broken parts like door knobs, beds etc. for the price and location I just expected more, yes it is outdated but what I really expect is a clean house. The beds very uncomfortable and the water being salt water is hard to get use too. The views are amazing and it has so much potential but until this house got a deep clean and a little cosmetic make over with beds I would not recommend to anyone. It’s a shame because it’s so beautiful. I also would hope they would put a ladder at the dock for future guest. But again, there is no way they had a cleaning service there before us, if so they did not clean. We were hopeful this could be our new spot to meet yearly or take other family vacays at!

Beautiful home!

The location was perfect! Secluded but still close enough to run to the store. Host was super responsive to any questions or concerna. Got some amazing pics, saw lots of deer and enjoyed the pool and fishing the whole week. Would definitely return again!

Relaxing and Spacious

We had family gather from all over to celebrate graduation. The home was close enough to The university to attend but far enough out to avoid all the crazy madness in the city. The commute was easy, the home was spacious and had everything we needed. Hosts were prompt to respond to questions also. We brought bottled water and ice- the water was salty but did not cause any shower issues. Would definitely stay here again.

Lackluster stay due to cleanliness and general maintenance issues

The central feature of our trip was supposed to be the home, but several issues related to cleanliness and maintenance put a damper on the family's overall experience. I informed the manager as soon as possible and I commend their prompt reply and service recovery efforts. For a property that asks a high rental rate, it's not unreasonable to expect that the home is cleaned and maintained with a high degree of oversight, quality, and consistency. Partial list of items: 1. Fish hook in the carpet near pool table- brother accidentally stepped on it and was injured 2. Wad of hair found on shower wall 3. Rusted utensils - all knives 4. WiFi not working 5.Tips missing on pool sticks, unable to use 6.Table tennis paddles and net damaged, unable to use 7.Several bathroom doors did not lock 8.Trash by pool area (recreational drug paraphernalia) 9.Disposal sink not working (Observations: 1. As mentioned in other reviews, the water is noticeably salty. Though forewarned by the property manager and probably not anything they can change, it doesn't reduce the fact that its annoying to shower, cook, etc., with salty water. 2. There's a sizable list of "rules" on the lease that must be followed to avoid paying a damage fee) Pros: The property is big, spacious, and visually appealing; lovely pool area; spacious bedrooms; remote, peaceful location

Perfect Lakeside Home

We LOVED our time in Lago Vista! The home was perfect for our group, there were 10 of us and we had plenty of space to stretch out. The pool was amazing! Kitchen had everything we needed! Even with the water levels low in Lake Travis we were able to use the dock to tie off our 25ft boat. Lake was awesome, and we had a blast in the sunshine and Texas heat. Communication with the property manager was fabulous, she was so incredibly helpful and quick to reply and had solutions for us when we needed them. The home is private and quite, beds are comfortable. The water isn’t great but we knew ahead of time and brought plenty of bottled water and this wasn’t an issue for us. We had an amazing time and loved our stay at Paradise Estate.
