Restful spot for a family getaway
Our family joined our best friends’ family for a getaway. 10 adults, 6 kids ranging from baby-16. This property was perfect! Plenty of bedrooms and beds and one giant living space. We could all stay connected but it on top of each other during our stay.

Thanksgiving getaway
We had our entire family at the cabin for Thanksgiving. The space was gorgeous and perfect for this kind of event. Great space and so many nice amenities including having wood readily available for the fire pit out back. Misty was so pleasant and great communication. Highly recommend

Perfectly suited for a large group
Anything we needed was a text away. Very nice. Very clean. Very comfortable. With a large kitchen/dining, and living room area this is a superior layout. Not far from the lake and plenty of privacy.

Great house with plenty of space
We are a group of friends that get together yearly to ride motorcycles for a few days. The house was large enough to accomodate 11 people easily, and gravel driveway is easy enough to maneuver on motorcycle. Kitchen is well equipped, we cooked breakfast and dinner daily for the group. We enjoyed the peace and privacy provided by the secluded location. Thanks for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home!

Girls golf trip
This property is well maintained and very clean. The beds are comfortable. Everything was as advertised and the owners helped us with a special request. We particularly enjoyed the pool. The only 2 things we thought could be improved upon are to put some lighting on the steps coming off the back deck and to have firewood split a bit smaller.

Family Getaway
The property and house was amazing! Beds were comfortable, kitchen stocked, but the pool was the ticket! We all had so much fun! I wouldn't change a thing! Would love to come back for sure!

Water Babies
It was a wonderful family getaway. Being from Wisconsin and having sporadic weather, you can imagine how much we enjoyed the pool. It was sparkling clean and so charming. Maybe we’ll visit again.

A wonderful, big family vacation
My family of 13 had an amazing week at the cabin in Kentucky. It was a gorgeous area with wildlife around, hills, and so quiet. The house and pool were perfect for our crew of family, who all live away from each other and we're able to drive in. There were so many bedrooms with comfy beds, a stocked kitchen, clean bathrooms, laundry, and the huge great room for gathering. We loved being able to go out and have breakfast on the back deck and watch the deer and wild turkeys. The pool was clean and we loved the diving board and slide. It did rain on and off when we were there, including when Misty did our family photos. She was so accommodating and took great pictures! She was very quick to respond when we had some minor issues come up during our stay and gage good advice about places to eat and visit. The Mammoth cave historic tour was wonderful, as was our time on Barren River Lake on a boat and at the beach. We were so glad to have found this gem of a place to spend our summer vacation together. We highly recommend and hope to be back.

Our family reunion
We love this place & have rented it at least 4 times. My family & I always enjoy the seclusion & wildlife, the pool is fantastic, rooms are comfortable, Misty is an amazing owner, along with her husband. Hopefully we can book another reunion in July of next year.

Wonderful Family Memories
Fantastic, wonderful, comfortable & amazing home to make fun family memories! You’re very gracious hosts who pay attention to detail & your place is like being at home! Son’s & their families (grandchildren) totally loved the place! We spent most of our time in your gorgeous large pool playing games & enjoying the water temperature. Extremely private
This was a very nice secluded property. House was wonderful and the pool was awesome. Would definitely come back to this property. The only downfall at all was some of the kitchen pans need to be replaced, there was no blender, and the coffee pot was worn out. But, talked to the owner and she said she would take care of this. Owners very easy to communicate with. Very nice rental

A must stay!
This is our 3rd visit! We can't find a better VRBO. I've never stayed at a cleaner home. The house is immaculate and the owners are fantastic. We had a few extra needs and Misty was so helpful and accommodating. Being in a secluded setting and only hearing nature is so peaceful. Pool is perfect!

Wish we could stay longer
Wonderful property. Everything we needed in the kitchen to make dinner for a large group. Pool was beautiful and clean would love to come back when the weather is warm enough to enjoy. Plenty of sleeping space and bathrooms for large group. Home was beautiful, comfortable and clean. We wished we could stay forever. Everything you could need for large family or friends getaway.

Perfect secluded getaway
The cabin suited our needs perfectly. Super close to Barren River Resort. We didn’t get to stay and enjoy the cabin much due to us being in town for an Association event but we would definitely stay here again. The owners were extremely hospitable and checked in to make sure our stay was going okay. Would definitely come back again!

Terrific!
We had a family Christmas get together! 12 adults and a bunch of littles. This house was everything we needed. Big! Quiet, well equipped for a rental, super clean, and beautiful! We took several walks, saw turkeys and deer, visited Mammoth Cave and sat around talking and laughing. Thanks Misty and Chad!

Family Reunion
This is a great property! It's better than described in the listing. It's extremely clean and well maintained. It has plenty of dishes and cookware for our Thanksgiving dinner. The property was able to accommodate our party of 18 without any problems. Misty the owner was awesome when we needed her and she was also a great photographer for our famly photos. I highly recommend this rental to anyone who's looking for a large group.

Golf trip
This is the second time we have stayed at this property since it has new ownership. Prior to this, the property was not maintained well. Each year it looked a bit worse. But under this new ownership it is fantastic. I'm sure it is hard to keep this property up since they have large groups renting it, but they do a great job! Things looked even better this year than last year. We play golf each day that we are there and then enjoy the pool in the afternoon, then the fire pit at night. The pool was immaculate. When we ran short on firewood the first night the owners made sure to supply us with more. They were also accomodating in letting us check in early the day we arrived so that we could get our food and coolers out of our hot vehicles while we played golf. Over-all I cannot say enough good things about this property!

Girls weekend
This was the third time I have stayed here. It’s a wonderful place to stay and relax. It’s quite and very peaceful . Nothing like sitting on the back deck in the early morning with a cup of coffee watching the deer. Chad and Misty are wonderful to work with. There were 9 of us . There was plenty of room for everyone. The pool is great.When the opportunity comes I will return .

A superior cabin
This was my and my family's first time to stay at CMR's cabin. First of all, the pictures on the booking site doesn't do it justice! It's absolutely gorgeous! Very secluded. Chad and Misty were wonderful hosts, and very helpful and prompt to answering emails. The cleanliness of the cabin was spectacular! Beds we're comfortable....we all slept well. Also, the furniture was comfortable. However, I can only speak for myself and my family on this matter. And then, there was the highlight of our stay.....THE POOL!!🥰. The temperature was always perfect; even in the morning and our boys, ages 6 and 4 had such a wonderful time going down the slide and jumping off the diving board! I just can't give this place any less than a 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review!!!

Great place for family getaway!
Our family includes 6 grandchildren ranging in age from 9 to 1. We took walks to see the pond and the barn down the lane. We saw wild turkeys, deer and coyotes. One night we had a fire and could hear owls in the woods. The pool was fun for all. The older grands and a few adults loved the slide. For an outing a group visited Mammoth Cave which was only a 45 minute drive. Also enjoyed visiting beautiful Barren River Lake State Park.

Perfect place
We had 16 people - 3 families with teenage kids stay at the house. There was enough room for everyone to spread out. Everyone enjoyed the pool. The kids loved the diving board and slide. It was in the mid to upper 90’s when we were there so the pool felt great and everyone spent most of the day by pool. The kids has so much fun in the pool that they left their electronics in the house and were only on them when they woke up and right before bed. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. Would highly recommend for a nice relaxing vacation.

Amazing getaway
This property exceeded our expectations. Starting from the unique entry tot he street it’s on to the breathtaking view as you pull In to the property. You get a feeling if a great time when you open the front doors and look at the high ceilings and the modern/cabin look of the place. You think you’ve seen it all until you open the back doors and gaze at the crystal clear pool surrounded by acres of beautiful nature. The contact with host was a great and welcoming experience. Thanks for providing out family with lots of memories and great family time.

Simply Amazing
This property was truly beautiful. Chad and Misty communicated with me the entire time promptly. Our family came from different areas and this was a perfect vacation home. We have six children and 7 adults and had more than enough room with even two extra bedrooms to spare. The home was immaculately clean which we all truly appreciate. The property was manicured and the kids enjoyed all the games the home had available for them to play….we were able to have a Easter egg hunt all around the house. If you visit in the warm season make sure to visit Kentucky Down Under Adventure, our kids had a blast feeding the kangaroos and other animals…. The home was well equipped with everything needed. The only thing the ladies would suggest is mirrors within the bedrooms. Our family had an amazing time and definitely will be back!!

Excellent Family Getaway location
We chose this property for a family Christmas getaway since we're spread out over 3 states and this was a centralized location for everyone. The listing and pictures were very accurate. As a nice touch, the lodge had been decorated for Christmas. There were enough bedrooms (7) for 5 couples and 2 grandkids and plenty of room to spread out for playing games, watching TV, cooking, etc. It's a rural setting which gave us the opportunity for hiking and seeing wildlife such as deer and turkey. A firepit and pool (in season) just added to the amenities of the lodge. Last, but certainly not least, is the excellent communications we had with the owners. Questions were answered in a very timely manner. Directions, rules and general information were precise and well laid out. We would highly recommend this modern, rustic cabin to anyone.

Thanksgiving Family Gathering
We wanted a place near the geographic center of our scattered family and something isolated so we could really enjoy one another without the temptation to jump in the car and "go someplace". The CMR Hideaway Lodge was great. We just spent time with one another and watched the cousins play together. Nothing was lacking for the fun we were seeking.
