Shelly Beach Cottage – Sunny Coastal Stay

Overlooking the Causeway and just a short walk from Shelly Beach, this sunny, character-filled cottage is an easygoing Waiheke escape for couples, friends and families. Spend slow mornings on the north-facing deck, wander down to the beach for a swim or kayak, then return home for dinner surrounded by the garden.



The Space:

A sunny courtyard welcomes you on arrival and leads into warm, stylish interiors filled with natural light. Original timber floors add character, while the comfortable lounge and open-plan kitchen and dining area create an inviting space to relax together.



Doors open onto a series of outdoor living areas, including the generous north-facing deck overlooking the greenery and tidal waters of the Causeway. There is plenty of room to dine outdoors, enjoy a morning coffee or settle beneath the umbrella on a sunny afternoon. Lush subtropical planting gives the home a peaceful, private feel and makes the indoor-outdoor layout particularly well suited to family stays.



The cottage has two well-appointed bedrooms, each with a queen bed. Both are light and restful, with one opening directly onto the deck.



Shelly Beach sits just behind the property and is a much-loved local spot for picnic dinners, kayaking and jumping from the pontoon at high tide. The nearby marina is another family favourite, with a café, sheltered swimming and plenty of boats and activity to watch. With the water close by and several inviting places to relax at home, Causeway Cottage offers a laid-back base for enjoying this special corner of Waiheke.



Other Things to Note:

There is a small private owner’s loft above the cottage that is not included with the accommodation as it is for private use only.

The owners will not be in residence during guest stays, ensuring you have complete privacy throughout your visit.

We always try to accommodate early check-ins and will send you a message on the day as soon as the property is ready. We provide all linen and bath towels. If you require beach towels, please bring your own, or we can arrange hire with advance notice. Baby items including portacots are available to hire too.
