I am somewhat biased, as this is where my dog and I prefer to stay on our fairly frequent visits to this lovely part of our country - I'd wholeheartedly recommend it for their hospitality, their food, the excellent breakfasts, some proper beer on tap, comfortable rooms (I've tried three of the six to date, all very comfortable, each with it's own character). I'd recommend their Wednesday wings and Sunday carvery in particular. I won't say more this time, as I suspect I'll have more to say next review! Just try it: helps if you like dogs; an ideal location for exploring East Anglia (not far from anywhere really, sited in central Norfolk, not far from the A11 to Norwich); if you're not from these parts, please visit to see an English pub and experience the atmosphere; AND it's good value for money too!

My favourite East Anglian hotel - recently refurbished, just as friendly and welcoming. As usual there were all sorts here, it's a proper 'local' - good food, good beer, good cheer! Lots of interesting opinions - all topical issues covered and easily overheard. The bar has two tellies now, and I enjoyed watching the end of an ODI (Sri Lanka won), and then some Happy Valley with mein hosts. I thoroughly recommend anyone to stay here (as long as you can do stairs), it's reasonably priced, the staff are all lovely, and you'll enjoy a cosy family atmosphere. AND, if you've got a dog, they are made very welcome too - your hosts' dog is Bella, a young Cocker who is happy to meet anybody, but especially visiting hounds. The kitchen is good, though the unlimited wings are no longer on the menu (shame!): the lasagne is good and Charlotte's breakfasts are very much 'to order' - my two egg, one bacon, a fried slice, and a piece of Black Pudding order is always excellent (yes, I stay here often (why go anywhere else when you've found 'just right'?)). Thanks to the team! Go visit Reader!!

I came back and am booked to come back again! Feel really welcome: my dog was immediately drawn in by Bella, the new addition to the Griffin household. It's the atmosphere here, the good quality food, the Battle of Britain ale, good dog-walking nearby, then team running the place, their location in the middle of Norfolk - great breakfast (thanks Charlotte), cooked to order. Rather than list superlatives, I should just recommend that you go and try them out - very good value for money, dog friendly!

Room was clean and had plenty of power points. There was a desk with drawers and a wardrobe with ample space for a few nights stay. The bathroom was as expected with complimentary shower gel and shampoo. Breakfast was served from 7:00 am (including weekends - which is a rarity these days). A good choice of evening meals. Car parking is limited. but there is plenty of street parking right outside. Wifi was really good. The area is nice and quiet for a good nights sleep. Staff were all courteous so all in all and excellent stay.

A nice old pub with a great selection of beers and English breakfast included. The only thing that let it down was the bathroom had a bad smell of old urine. Give the place a deep clean and it would make a huge difference.

What's not to like? Fabulous place, great family atmosphere about the place. Great food, good beer, nice room, dog friendly, Limited parking, but right in the middle of town in the middle of Norfolk. Sensible location for anyone working in the area, close to the A11. Good dog walking from the pub. Daniel and his team (overseen by Mum) are very welcoming, as is the pub - it'll wrap it's warm and welcoming arms around you - here you can relax and feel at home and really look forward to returning soon.

The shower doors didn't shut and a major leak from the frame to the wall the toilet had a stained bowl ask for a chicken meal with saulted potatoes and it came with chips tried 2 beers and both was off breakfast was not what I expected asked for a juice and got cordial and water won't be staying again

An amazing fresh home cooked breakfast with local produce, excellent menu. Limited parking to the side of the hotel, plenty of street parking just outside.

Good old fashioned pub hotel. Food is proper pub grub, wholesome and fresh. Oled world build, floors are uneven but give character. My go to place when in the area.

Restful stay

Easy check in.Room was large enough with ensuite bathroom.Plenty of tea,coffee available in the room.Plenty of sockets.Breakfast was very good.Price was good as well.Would stay again and recommend a stay.Bed comfortable as well
