The check-in was awful. I was given the wrong instructions, so I was not able to get into the house. I messaged the host, but he did not respond for about 2 hours. I called VRBO help line, which connected to call center. Since neither they nor I knew the instructions were wrong, they kept demanding that I provide video evidence that I was following the instructions. That’s hard to do when instructions reference a black key pad at the front door, but there is no key pad there. I spent close to two hours, mostly in the dark with no outside lights, on the phone with them, and they repeatedly told me they were also trying to contact the host. Finally they offered to refund my money. This was close to 7 pm on Monday night of thanksgiving week. I was very frustrated and told them I needed to take an hour to consider my options for housing my family (7 adults and 1 infant) for the week. Thankfully the host did respond then and give me the correct instructions, which worked perfectly. But no one took any responsibility for the error. Host gave me a 50 refund. That’s insignificant. The house itself is nice. 5 nice sized bedrooms with king beds. One bedroom does have a French door with frosted panes, which did not feel very private. Plenty of space in the common areas. Very
