We needed a base to visit other Somerset places and the like, and chose it for convenience and its proximity to motorway and cross-country routes and its excellent over-night parking, for which it was very good. "Staff were generally friendly. The room was very dated - it looked tired and rather grubby. We were alarmed to see extension cables and exposed electrical wiring. The bed clothes were old & not inviting. There was no enclosed shower. The bathroom looked to be from the 70’s/80’s. The TV in the room had an alarm feature which unbeknown to us had been programmed to go off at 5.30am and 7.30 am - this was not appreciated! The cooled breakfast was good."

"We stayed for 2 nights in the family room which had a lovely comfortable king size bed, ensuite with large walk in shower and air con which was a God send. Very clean and quiet. The staff are lovely, food and drinks reasonably priced, breakfast choices good. The beer garden needs some attention but is secure if you have children or a dog. Steep stairs to the rooms which were a bit difficult with our elderly dog but over all a great stay. Please note, although very dog friendly they do charge...

"Lovely staff and a comfy bed saved this property from a less favorable review. It feels like a converted hospital where the interior designer ran out of money. But, it is LITERALLY opposite the station if you need to catch a train. And they have gorgeous looking cannoli. Good in a pinch."

"We had a room on the front, no air, room not aired, constant road noise all through the night. Mattress stained, carpet stained. Tables sticky in the restaurant - avoided breakfast."

"Hotel was in good condition, however one of the lights for bedtime reading was blown and the bathroom bin hadn't been emptied, but for one night, it was ok. Food was not the best both breakfast and evening. Breakfast hot food was barely warm and evening was the same after waiting 30mins after ordering and only being us and another couple dining. There was a restaurant next door however they fill up fast and had no spaces for us, hence eating in the hotel. In review....book the restaurant next...

"This hotel does not have staff as you do a self check in so it is not possible to rate this part of the survey. The hotel offers no amenities, however there is a kettle and tea/coffee provided . The room was perfectly fine for one night. Comfortable and clean although needs updating and there was a bleach stain on the carpet. The room was unbearably hot. A fan was provided but it was not affective in the size of the room so maybe worth the hotel provided a second fan. Other than that not a bad...

"Exceptional stay , staff were delightful and very helpful & supportive. Breakfast & evening dinner were incredible , perfectly cooked eggs at breakie and fabulous quality of food for both supper and breakfast - definitely recommend. We had a balcony room which was beautiful , overlooking the cricket pitch and was thing horses and tractors come passed, love it."
