"The property was very dated, with a need of a deep clean and decor update. Carpets were stained and our particular room had a unpleasent smell. Overall the property has seen better days, I guess this is reflected in a lower than average room price for the area. Staff however were very friendly and although we did not eat a main meal, the portions looked generous and other guests appeared content. Suggest read the available reviews and make you own decision."

"Have been staying here a few days a week with work over these past 3 months. Stayed in many of the rooms, ate, drank, was merry, and also shared the disappointment of an English World Cup semi final in their beer garden. Apart from the Willow Tree Birds having a fondness for pooping on my car, and the odd thing not replenished by housekeeping at times, my stays have been nothing short of fantastic. "Room was clean and tidy, nice fresh towels, very helpful reception staff."

"Good location, parking was plentiful and appeared safe. Hotel room was clean as were the linens and towels however our room was above the bar and you could hear people chatting downstairs. The shower was small but functional, although the shower door was broken. Corridors to the rooms were tired and needed some tlc. Unfortunately we had to leave early so couldn't enjoy breakfast to it's fullest but the buffet bit was well stocked although some pastries would have been welcome as we couldn't...

"Absolutely beautiful place, in fabulous surroundings, with an interesting back story. Very comfortable bed and top quality bed linen and towels. The decor was superb, the breakfast was delicious and the owners and staff were wonderful. Would definitely stay there again when visiting family in the area."
