Stunning lodge in a peaceful holiday park. We arrived slightly early and were asked to wait in the bar area by the friendly reception staff. The reception/bar/restaurant hub building looked modern and clean, and we were pleased to see there was a mini shop for the essentials and forgotten items! We were in a Dovedale Premier lodge, plot no 5. This was just up from reception on the first left. We loved this area as it was quiet. Parking was good, as our space was just at the bottom of our path with enough room for two larger vehicles. Lodge itself was modern and well decorated, perfect size for two people. We had a hot tub and we liked that it was under the canopy so when it rained we could still be outside. What was even better was the star lights in the roof of the canopy making for a stunning setting at night. Even though our hot tub faced the middle of the area, we still felt we had enough privacy.Powerful and hot shower, lovely comfortable bed and good cooking appliances with plenty of cutlery and crockery. Everything was perfect for a relaxing stay! Due to the weather we spent most of our time in the lodge so definitely made use of the facilities!Only minor points for us was a broken wine glass that was left on the bench when we first came in - didn’t bother us but didn’t want staff to think we had broken anything (we don’t drink!). Second was that the kitchen surface wasn’t properly wiped down by a previous guest - we are coeliacs and found bread crumbs on the side where the toaster was. We had a really lovely time, so much so we booked our next stay at one of the treehouses on site next year! Perfectly placed for access to many Peak District hotspots and for travel further afield to Derby, Sheffield and Stoke.
