Stella Luna - in the Lap of Taos Mountain!

  • Nestled at the foot of Taos Mountain off the Valdez Rim Road, Stella Luna, our 1500 square foot, two bedroom, two bath home sits on a quiet lane. It's just 15 mins from the slopes of Taos Ski Valley, 15 mins from the Town of Taos & Taos Plaza, and 5 mins from the charming village of Arroyo Seco. Extraordinary views in all directions, high ceilings throughout, large windows, and a floor plan that offers both open space and privacy come together to create a home that graciously welcomes you back after a day of skiing, sightseeing, or shopping. In fact, if you're like us, you might never want to leave Stella Luna at all!

    Our lovely home offers a spacious, master suite with a King bed, attached office/nursery, TV/DVD, a Jacuzzi bath, and walk-in closet & dressing area. The second bedroom, conveniently separated from the master by the common living space, comes with a queen bed & double futon, TV/DVD, and an amazing view of Taos Mtn. While the house can comfortably sleep four adults, it can easily accommodate two more on the sleeper sofa in the living room.

    A cozy fire in the kiva fireplace will warm your bones while you dine or relax in the comfortable living area. Being travelers, cooks, and foodies ourselves, Stella Luna provides you with a well-equipped kitchen and a home tastefully decorated with furnishings, art and objects from near and far. A selection of movies, books, and games will help you unwind from your life in the real world. To soothe those aching limbs and enjoy our spectacular New Mexico skies, there's a hot tub on the back deck; from the SW facing portal you get views of the Truchas, El Pedernal (a leitmotif of Georgia O'Keeffe), sunsets, and the neighbor’s grazing cows.

    We love children and they're welcome at Stella Luna. We'll work with you to provide you the amenities you need.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this house, as a family of 4 (2 adults, 6 yo, 8 yo). Only 17 mins to Taos Ski Valley, and about the same to Taos. Was also surprised that Arroyo Seco had a few shops and restaurants if needed. The road has a gorgeous view, the house was warm, comfortable, and quiet, and we enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub in the snow. Host was easy to contact and available, house is well stocked with kitchen needs! Will definitely book again if it’s available next time we ski!

This very private home is located perfectly— close to slopes and to town as well. It’s super quiet; we slept so well! Large backyard was perfect for my kids to build a snowman. The hot tub was perfect après ski. We cook 2 meals per day, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The hosts even left us welcome snacks and fresh flowers. This is truly a premier premier host!

Everything was perfect at this property! We met our granddaughter & her husband here for a 3 night stay. We loved the property so much we stayed in every night & played games. The host left fresh bread, wine, chips & salsa & fruit. The kids enjoyed the hot tub & we enjoyed the views & sunsets. We all hope to return to this beautiful haven.

The house was very clean. The host greeted us when we arrived and explained everything and answered all our questions. The house had everything we needed to cook and extra supplies if needed. Firewood was provided. We loved the privacy. House is 20 minutes away from Taos and about 40 minutes from Red River. We visited both places during the stay.

Great quiet getaway

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay. The location is perfect for hiking on nearby trails or just relaxing in the peace and quiet. We felt very welcome with flowers and wine on arrival and the overall warmth of the house.

Ski trip

We love this location to get to Taos Ski Valley. It was a beautiful property and had everything we needed to be comfortable. We appreciated the hospitality and stocked spices, etc.

Home base for work and adventure

We spent a fabulous week at the house, doing a combo of WFH and adventuring around Taos. House was super comfortable, views were spectacular, so nice just to sit out in the hot tub and watch the stars come out / hear the crickets start up. Very grateful places like this exist.

Quiet and comfy

We stayed for just over a week. It was quiet and comfortable. Fireplace, hot tub, roomy comfortable furnishings. We also appreciated the decor. Would stay again!

What an amazing stay. Stella Luna came with a fully loaded kitchen, even a basket of fruits. Communication with the host has been terrific. They even left the light on, as we arrived after sunset and it can be dark by the road. Everything in the house was labeled and the house rules were easy to find and follow. Enjoying the hot tub after a day of skiing topped it all. Can only recommend with the highest level possible.

Wonderful stay!

This is a lovely home, exactly as advertised - perhaps even better. My husband, two children, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the lovely hosts. Beds are very comfortable and kitchen well equipped. Location was great. Hot tub seemed new and was really nice. We’d definitely stay here again!

Beautiful home in lovely environs

Loved this home. It was extremely comfortable inside, and it had a variety of outside spaces to enjoy the spectacular mountain and sky views all around. The hot tub was very special. We could not have asked for better, and hope to return some day.

Perfect location for all things recreationally Taos; great hospitality and spotless property; all kitchen essentials provided; although it lists ac in amenities, there were only fans and open windows to keep it cool; not too much of a problem, but it would have been nice to have on the hot afternoons; admit to being surprised about the check in procedure where we were met by a host representative at the property and shown around; that was a first for Vrbo experiences for us; overall great experience and would stay here again if ever back in the area

Beautiful, comfortable property

Stayed at Stella Luna for a week with my spouse and another couple. The house was gorgeous and comfortable. Sanjay & Bettina were gracious and helpful. The neighborhood is quiet and rural, but very close to Taos. We can't wait to go back!
