This was a lovely property, convenient to so much with thoughtful details. Check-in and check-out were easy, communication with host was exceptional. It was comfortable, clean, restful, and just what we needed for a long weekend! Great local tips and lots of cozy blankets!

Nice home just no heat

When we arrived the heat was off and the cabin was 45 degrees. We attempted to use the fireplace but the wood was soaking wet and 5/6 lighters did not work. The chimney flew wasnt working correctly so smoke just rolled into the cabin then blew out the small fire we were able to start using toilet paper and sticks. The owner wrote back quickly but was unable to help with anything. We bundled in our snow gear and all slept together on the couch to keep warm. It finally got to 65 degrees by 3 in the morning. The house was nice and as described on the website. Although not sure it was cleaned thoroughly before we arrived as I found Christmas wrapping paper behind and between the couch cushions, dust bunnies on the floor and questionable debris along the windowsill. We would like to try a re-do in the future but are hesitant because of the heating situation. Our kids enjoyed the game room very much. Something small but in the checkin message owner said there was paper towels available in the closet, but of course could not find paper towels anywhere. Wish it would have been a little more of a relaxing getaway when paying so much for a vacation.

Darling cabin

We had such a wonderful stay here, beds were super comfortable!! The cabin has some really nice upgrades, including a beautiful kitchen island, and an induction stove. The backyard was perfect for entertaining our family!!! Thank you for having us, David!!!

Cozy Cabin

We utilize rentals often to accommodate our family and furbaby. Dave was one of the most responsive and friendliest host I’ve ever had contact with. The house was warm and cozy and stocked with everything we needed. The house is very kid friendly and the game room/loft above the garage is perfect for older kids/preteens. The driveway was flat with a basketball hoop and (if you go in winter and don’t have 4x4). The hot tub is huggggggee. My in-laws are already talking about bringing their other grandkids back, we will definitely keep Dave’s place in mind for the future.

It was very easy to find everything with the instruction the owner left.

This was the 1st time I stayed at a rental from Vrbo and I was satisfied. The owners provide more than I had known. All toiletries plus extras. They also had a ton of board games that my kids and grandkids played with.

Great family getaway from the heat

We used this mountain cabin as an extended family getaway for our annual vacation together. Arnold was an ideal location as it is generally much cooler in the summer than where we live. *( It would also be the perfect rental for a snow vacation in the winter.) We enjoyed the wildlife, the rain!!!!, and the close proximity to great dining and nature spots such as Calaveras Big Trees State Park. Using the loft above the garage, this home easily slept 8 people. Dogs allowed - this was a bonus. Additionally the host responded promptly to questions.

Two family vacation to relax. amazing location, great accomodations for blended families

The Host was simply amazing. easy to communicate with. while they state they are new to VRBO...it didn't show. Cabin was emaculate. Renters guide was through and easy to read. house offered a great opportunity to be together and separate at the same time. cozy but not too small. and split living quarters were perfect. my two girls (5 and 12) had the loft. my wife and I had a room and our friends the same. all the boys (8, 10 and 13) had the apartment above the garage. could not have worked out more perfect. not to mention our families share 4 dogs.. Needless to say we had a great time and the host gets a 5 of 5 from my blended family. thank you David for a great weekend retreat.

Want A Great Retreat?

This is it. 3 families w/ kids, trees, lake, trails, relaxation. The wives were happy and the kids loved it. Unlike some of the other VRBOs we’ve stayed at there was more than enough utensils, cups, plates, plenty of soft blankets and towels to go around. All of the appliances, bathrooms are updated. The hosts provide a sweet little book which gives you all the details and instructions of all the devices in the cabin. We BBQed on the grill (which the hosts provided plenty of propane), there’s wood for the fireplace (we did not use), the hot tub was a nice touch, and the loft was perfect for my family to stay in together. Perfect spot for 2-3 families or 3-4 couples. Has a Tahoe-like feel without it’s massive landmark. Arnold isn’t the traditional go-to travel destination, however highly recommended if you’re looking for a relaxing weekend. If this spot were in Tahoe it’d be sold out every weekend. Job well done.

Lovely spot

Came with family (all adults) and had a lovely time. 10 minutes or so to the beautiful Calaveras Big Trees state park, and only about a half hour to Bear Valley ski resort. The 4th bedroom/game room and second bathroom are in a separate building, which could be a pro or a con depending on your situation. Great big sofa for relaxing, good fire place. Check in was easy and host was very responsive. Overall a fantastic little cabin and I would definitely come back!

Cute home in Arnold

The house had plenty of room for the 3 families staying here together & was ideal for our group with older teenagers. The one bathroom in the main house was often busy with the majority of us staying in that building. Not sure the property description makes it clear that the second bathroom and loft above the garage (with room for 4 people) is in a separate building a short distance away. It worked well for us as our teens felt like they had their own apartment with fun games inside. Wonderful blankets! Great kitchen update with all the utensils/cooking equip we needed. Great back patio with all-day sun!

Great spot and great cabin- We will be back

This cabin was amazing, it was a great place in a great location and could not be happier with our choice. We have 2 dogs and we were able to enjoy this newly renovated cabin. We enjoyed the quiet cozy location close to everything and will definitely be back. The hosts are very responsive and could not ask for more.
