Quaint/Quiet/forest setting

Accommodations nice, beautiful setting. Upon initial arrival the accommodations had a cigarette smoke smell at porch and foyer. Kitchen had grease film on/in microwave. Walls have a bit of dust on them. Could use a thorough cleaning.

Almost incredible

The stay was wonderful, mostly everything we were hoping for. Wonderful views, and a full kitchen, sofa, and dining area. Some room for improvement though- the mattress is very hard, harder than any we'd slept on previously and caused serious consideration of using the couch as an alternative to sleeping through the night. Also, a previous customer or cleaner left a window open which we didn't catch until the second day, so cold air was entering and we had no idea that was happening.

This is a beautiful little guest house surrounded by Redwoods. It's quiet and feels like you're in the woods, but close enough to town for shopping, dining, and exploring. The property itself is well maintained and clean.

Great Location

Nice quiet apartment in the woods. Convenient to the highway. Bed and bath were nice. Kitchen had little counter space. We made breakfast every day but dinner would have been a challenge. We didn't watch TV but the TV in the apartment was very small. Otherwise it was a very nice place and would stay here again.

Quiet tranquil spot

We loved our stay so peaceful ,everything we needed -so well equipped and great communications ! Loved the big windows (needed these because only got filtered sunlight ) only disappointment for us personally was no place to sit in the sun! But such a beautiful place to stay and would definitely recommend

Redwood escape

Lovely Stay

Magnificent

This beautiful cottage was our home base for our Redwood adventures & it could not have been more perfect! It was stocked with everything we needed and it was nestled in its own redwood forest so we were able to enjoy the serenity of the magnificent trees our entire stay whether we were out exploring the area close to Arcata or we were back from a busy day traveling and hiking. The location is so convenient to the Redwood National Forest and all that it has to offer as well as charming smaller communities around Arcata (Trinidad and Ferndale were two of our favorites). Thank you for sharing this special place with us.

Beautiful retreat

The home was so well done for the size and had all of the basic amenities the two of us needed. Just as described and what the pictures show. The outside area was so beautiful, private and serene - couldn’t have asked for a better location. The bed is nice and big, but is extremely hard for our taste and both of us woke up quite sore each morning. Could use a pillow top for sure. Overall was a beautiful and perfect retreat for the two of us on our anniversary.

Absolutely perfect

This cottage studio was perfect for a cozy weekend in the redwoods. The process was smooth and the home was exactly what we needed, the right size with amenities to cook at home and cozy up, while serving as a centrally located home-base for exploring Eureka and further up north in Redwoods National & State Parks. We will absolutely be return, and soon!

the loft was neat and cozy. i really appreciated the little back year area where my daughter and I sat down to have lunch one day. we really enjoyed the stay and would definately come back . its a place for two people.

Peaceful retreat

It's a lovely space, cozy with great light, in a beautiful setting with comfortable and nice amenities. By car it's not too far out of town, but because of the steep hills and distance it's not great for walking.

Great.....except for the bed

This was an amazing place to stay. Surrounded by redwoods, silent other than the sounds of mist condensing and dripping off the leaves, and still conveniently located near 101 and downtown Arcata. Our only complaint was that the bed was not very comfortable. (Both of us woke up sore more than once in our week-long stay) The sheets were flat and not fitted, so required constant maintenance and bunched in the night. The mattress was very firm, and would REALLY benefit from a memory foam topper, if not a total replacement. We hope those two points will be addressed by the owner (We tried contacting them through the rental agency, with no luck), as we would LOVE to stay there again, but are reluctant to do so if the sleeping isn't as amazing as the rest of the place. Hopefully they see this review, and let people (including us!) know that they're fixing those two things.
