  • Nice, long hike today. Went down the Bridge Creek Trail, and then to Maple Falls. About an 8-mile total hike. Redwoods everywhere you look, and a deep dark forest that gave lots of 'mood'. We came across a tiny snake! It was just a few inches long, red back, sunning itself on a rock in the middle of the creek.

We had a wonderful stay at this Aptos VRBO! Everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The home was spotless, well cared for, and incredibly comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked, making it easy to cook meals and feel right at home. One of our favorite parts of the stay was spending our evenings playing games together—it was the perfect setting to relax and unwind. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would happily stay here again. Highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Aptos home. Location wonderful for a quiet place to return to after a full day of exploring various spots on the Monterey peninsula. Kitchen well stocked, clean, loved the living room sitting area where we enjoyed our morning coffee and the deck where we enjoyed our evening cocktail hour as wildlife passed through the yard. Our host were very accommodating and responded quickly to our questions and concerns.

Perfect for a “girls weekend”. Spacious, well-appointed, great vibe, excellent communication, and very much appreciated the bottle of wine left for us. Beautiful artwork too. Would definitely recommend!

Our family absolutely loves staying in this exquisite, beautiful home surrounded by nature, including the lovely, tree lined walk to the playground and Hidden Beach. Watching deer and a fox beyond the back deck in the beautiful woods was an added delight! The house is artfully & tastefully decorated, immaculately clean and has a fully equipped, modern kitchen and state of the art bathrooms, as well as very comfortable beds and linens. The owners, Lisa and Rudi, could not be more gracious and welcoming. We have stayed in many VRBOs, but this is the best of the best!

This place was amazing in every way and perfect for three couples. We all agreed it was the best-stocked kitchen we'd experienced at a short-term rental, my bed was possibly the best I have ever slept on, wonderful bathroom--everything was perfect. Lisa was super responsive and helpful, and the walk to Hidden Beach provided some unexpected wildlife sightings: humpback whales and sooty shearwaters by the thousands. I would go back here in a heartbeat!

Amazing property with everything you need!

My family came to Santa Cruz to attend my son‘s graduation from UC Santa Cruz. This home was a perfect retreat for our family. It has an amazing amount of charm and exudes a relaxed atmosphere- the views of all the foliage around make you feel like you are in the mountains. It has all the amenities that you could ask for and we were even greeted with a nice message and bottle of wine! The owners have thought of everything to make you feel at home. We will definitely come again!

Lovely holiday stay

We spent the week of Christmas at this lovely home. Our group of 5 was very comfortable. We were able to take walks to the beach and it was a great jumping off point for visiting family in the area. We even hosted a dinner since the kitchen was so well-appointed. The teens loved cuddling in front of an evening movie and we enjoyed the books and games. We will definitely stay again when coming to Aptos!

Aptos luxury home

Fantastic stay in luxurious and very well equipped home. Hosts were so accommodating and after an exhausting weekend hosting our son’s wedding up in the mountains let us have a late check out to recover. Great location and a truly beautiful home

San Cruz Wedding weekend

We really enjoyed the house! Very well stocked with great dishes, pans & skillets. Beautifully decorated home with tons of extra amenities! We had young adults, middle aged & 2 elderly (90+) ladies. There were many handicapped bars for the shower which really gave us peace of mind.

Such a Feeling of Being Home / Peaceful and Serene

We have returned to this lovely home a few times with extended family and each time, it's just amazing. A short walk to the beach, a gorgeous home that is well-stocked and comfortable, lovely views of plant and animal life from the back deck, an excellent supply of board games and puzzles, and central - whether you are driving north to Santa Cruz or heading south to the Monterey area. We so enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next visit. Thank you again for your hospitality!

Best Vacation!

We absolutely loved our week in this home. The location is perfect, quiet yet minutes to everything we wanted to do. The house is spacious, cozy, organized and clean. The layout was perfect for our family and the decor is beautiful and inviting. It was such a relaxing environment to wake up in and come back to each day. The beds were extremely comfortable and all the cozy blankets everywhere was such a plus! We walked to the beach almost daily and loved seeing deer along the way. We enjoyed cooking meals in the spacious kitchen and there was everything we needed and more to do so. We loved the big beach wagon and the assortment of beach toys and games. All in all, a wonderful place to stay! We will definitely be back!

Great place

I misunderstood and thought we were closer to the beach, but the house was gorgeous and the neighborhood was perfect. The home had every convenience. The bedrooms were large and well appointed. Lots of pillows, blankets etc. bathrooms were large and had all of the amenities you could want. Downstairs was large and very comfortable. The bottle of wine was much appreciated and delicious. Our stay was excellent. Thank you for making it so easy and wonderful.

Gorgeous Home Away from Home

My husband and I along with our three children (ages 5, 8, and 9) absolutely adored this beautiful house. It was the perfect setup for our family with the den downstairs and two adjoining bedrooms and a bathroom - this was the kids' hang-out area and they loved it. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything you could need. The views were beautiful and it was great to go out onto the deck(s) in the morning to hear the birds chirping. The short walk to Hidden Beach was fantastic; we hope to return again soon!

5 stars all the way!

Our group of two families (4 adults and 4 children/teenagers) travelled from Sweden and spent five nights here. It provided a truly relaxing basecamp for our daily excursions and each day we were looking forward to getting back "home". Our overall impression is that the hosts really cared about making us feel like guests in their home. A very comfortable stay and all-in-all just a great experience, thank you!

Beautiful property

My family (adults and teens) had a wonderful stay here. Aside from being clean and tidy and well-stocked, there were so many thoughtful little touches and details such as nightlights everywhere. The short walk to the beach is lovely, and the backyard views are so serene. Our teens loved having there own floor to hang out, too. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Beach Getaway

We couldn't ask for a more perfect home for our beach weekend getaway! The house has beautiful views of the trees and greenery of the canyon in back and is very well equipped, comfortable, and clean. Walking distance to the beach provided a beautiful outdoor experience. This is our second time staying here. Absolutely the best!!!

We had the most amazing stay at this property! We were blown away by the cleanliness and attention to detail that the owners made to keep this house feeling warm and homey, not like the typical rental home that could sometimes feel bare. This was quite the opposite! The kitchen is more than fully stocked. It was so easy to make a meal, and we made an entire thanksgiving dinner there and we had no issues. Having two living areas was amazing. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. It really made a big difference in how comfortable we all were. We traveled with a wide range of ages - 2 years to 75 years old, and it fit everyone perfectly. The owners are the most lovely people ever!!! We had some extra needs during our stay, and I just can’t express how appreciative we were in how they were able to accommodate us. Really wonderful people. The location is a perfect distance to have a nice 15 min stroll to the beach or a quick 5 min drive. And the street the house is on is very lovely and well maintained. Very cute area! We highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay around here. You will not be disappointed. Thank you again for everything Lisa!!! We’re excited to come back next time we visit our family there!

Better than Hotel stays!

5 Stars all the way! Best of both words, mountain and beach! Relaxing on the deck watching deer, or on the beach sea shell looking. And then to come "home" to a restful and inviting feeling. Lisa has created the perfect home away from home stay! Best R and R!
