Beautiful location and fabulous villa

Great service and communication. Loved the pool and all the space around the property. Stunning views and wonderful location. Well appointed villa and lovely to be secluded and quiet. We had a fantastic stay and would recommend this beautiful villa. We love Crete One of the parasols by pool was slightly broken and rather small. The sun was intense so another large parasol would have been better - 3 parasols needed.

Great villa with pool

Villa Amvrosia has just about everything you could want and is extremely well equipped. It's in a peaceful location close to Armeni, and not far from Kalives. Somewhere to store the inevitable recycling. Description of the property to indicate It's less suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Exactly as Freelance laid out and we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the lovely surroundings. Well only as you used to with all our previous visits with you,a folder with general info in the villa would be very helpfull on arrival instead of relying on the technology all the time,always good to have back up now as we have discovered,however a great time was had going over old haunts. Idyllic retreat

- Once again Villa Amvrosia delivered all we could have hoped for.A comfortable villa set in rural countryside with only the sounds of the country to disturb the peace. Carefully and intelligently designed for both sun and shade lovers. The pool and its surrounds is a delight and the views of the mountains spectacular. Just wonderful and when coupled with the generosity of the hosts truly splendid, I just wish it could have been longer. Some of the pool surrounds (decking and fences) are starting to reach the end of their life and need replacement,

A wonderful villa

Everything, apart from the two small issues mentioned. The door to the en-suite bathroom is missing. Asking visitors to take their rubbish to the dumpsters in the village at the end of the stay is not very welcome when the hire car is full to the seams with people and luggage.

Location, general cleanliness, not being overlooked, peaceful. Make sure there is no infestation of ants in the kitchen before clients arrive (it took a week to get this sorted). Fix the decking by the pool - there were protruding screws and loose planks. Restore bug screen balcony so aircon does not need to be used so much to cool down inside. Restore normal seats in outside pergola as the new benches are too deep to be comfortable. Ensure all umbrellas are operational by the pool. Personally the indoor pool is better with normal and not salt water.

Schöne Villa ruhige Lage, Betten sind für Deutsche Verhältnisse gewöhnungsbedürftig. Pool ist nicht beheizt, auch keine geselschaftsspiel vorhanden. Das Fliegengitter im Schlafzimmer ist defekt. Die Tischtennisplatte ist alt und schief. Alkes in allem in die Jahre gekommen.

Perfect for a dream vacation

They think of everything. You don't need to stress about going to a shop. Everything was there. The pool was very clean. It is perfect for the whole family. And the location was incredible, amazing view and not far from the little town where they are really nice. The pillows of the beds. The logo was quite annoying for sleeping and the pillows were to small. For the rest, everything was fine.

Lovely refuge for a peaceful holiday

The villa is very spacious and well appointed and provided plenty of room for 4 adults (myself, my wife and two adult sons). The kitchen was well equipped, the bedrooms comfortable and furnished with good quality mattresses (always a key consideration for me) and there was copius hot water for showering. The outside areas are extensive and provide plenty of spaces for some quiet time. The pool is excellent, there are plenty of sunbeds and the layout ensures there is always somewhere shady to sit if you need to get out of the midday sun. There is also a very well placed and comfortable hammock that got well used! The Cretan barbecue area provides a great cooking alternative and has a second fridge which was very useful for maintaining a good supply of chilled drinking water and other beverages. Overall very pleased adn would definitely consider re-booking if returning to Cre Very little to comment on with regards to improvements. The grocery pack contained the wrong capsules for the coffee machine (it's a Tassimo machine) but other than that provided a useful set of groceries to get us up and runnning on arrival.

Superb stay

Beautiful villa - we’ve stayed in quite a few and this tops the lot. Just as advertised, if not better. We arrived to a fruit basket, wine and biscuits. The villa was very clean and simply decorated inside. Lovely balconies and we loved the very private pool area. We loved being surrounded by nature (the dawn chorus here is unreal!) - beautiful views across to the mountains with glorious sunsets. The added extras (table tennis and jacuzzi) kept us entertained. Great location near the village and two small sandy beaches (Kalyves and Almyrida). We ate in the big restaurant in Armenoi village three times….beware the huge portions - “appetisers” are more like big sharing plates! The local coffee shop also does pancakes and omelettes for breakfast. The only downside was that we came back covered in mosquito bites….definitely not unique to this villa - they’re everywhere in the evening! But we did wish we had mozzie nets for night-time….maybe something the owners could consider.

Above expectations

Everything about this villa was pleasant. It was clean, quiet and homely. Our stay in Crete was wonderful as a result. The view from every sitting place was beautiful and uninterrupted. A short drive overall from Chania airport and plenty of room for parking outside. The local restaurants were a great find. Additionally all the furniture was attractive and of a great quality. We felt very spoilt. Thank you so much. I will definitely be using Freelance Villas again.

The villa is well presented and intelligently designed. The terraces and views are magnificent. The pool is wonderful. The outdoor areas are well designed for both shade and sun. Just what we had hoped for and a little bit more!

What a gorgeous villa and beautiful surroundings. We had very much wanted privacy and peace and quiet which is exactly what we got. Knowing Kalyves and Almirida well, we were looking for somewhere close by and this was perfect. The pool area and outside areas were simply lovely, enabling you to either chase the sun all day or escape into a shady area. The views are stunning with the mountains all around. The pool itself is just fabulous and we spent most of our time floating around! The evenings were lovely sitting in the warm air and enjoying a G&T under the stars. Bed was very comfortable and view from master bedroom just stunning. We didn't use the jacuzzi and whilst we absolutely loved the Cretan Kitchen, we only used once as couldn't get the extractor to work so the room filled with smoke pretty quickly. Plenty of amenities in the village to get you by including a fantastic butchers. The welcome pack enabled us to have a glass of wine on our late arrival and some fresh water before heading down to the bakery the following morning for breakfast supplies. Kalyves is a very short drive for one of my favourite beaches and plenty of tavernas for delicious food. We will definitely return! A couple of things we couldn't get to work (oven and BBQ extractor) reported on our return (did not see the owner during the week or would have mentioned it) and apparently they were working but we were not using correctly. Detailed instructions would be helpful as I followed what was there and guessed in other areas. These didn't affect our holiday though. Although still warm and air con in use on some nights, an extra cover rather than just a sheet on the bed would have been a bit more comfortable. The villa is looking a little tired in places which may require some refresh to justify the price increase for same time next year.

Excellent Villa, great outdoor area

Pool area was brilliant Villa is not walking distance from bars and Tavernas due to steep incline ( unless you have above average fitness)and having to pass a number of properties with guard dogs.
