We had an amazing stay at the villa and overall we can honestly say the best holidays on Crete island. We were looked after from the moment we booked the villa, the communication was flawless. The villa has good absolutely everything we needed to make us feel relaxed. The building itself is a masterpiece and tastefull. We relaxed by the pool and jacuzzi every day. The kitchen is very vell equipped. We also used BBQ.I would also mention that the house is in a traditional mountain village with its own tavern with breathtaking views and the nearest beach is not far either. We are really happy to choose this villa to be part of experiencing Crete. We loved every moment.

Idyllic getaway

Absolutely amazing. Perfect host goes above and beyond. So many extras which made for a perfect holiday From being met on arrival and showed the way to the property and a really lovely thoughtful gift on departing. With regular contact throughout our 3 weeks. Even dropped us off a homemade cake which was lovely. It really was a lovely villa with amazing views in an idyllic location. Katerina made us feel very welcome and went that extra mile to make sure our holiday was just everything what it should be ❤️

Exceptional Experience

Katerina and her staff are accommodating and gracious. She is an exceptional hostess with impressive attention to detail and cleanliness as well as our requests. She was able to coordinate a rental vehicle that simplified our transportation needs and her generosity and friendliness was welcoming at all times! This villa was all we hoped and more with the grand mountainous setting in the small village overlooking Souda Bay. The house was well stocked and allowed us to create great memories such as cooking delicious meals shared with family and friends. If traveling during unpredictable springtime weather, the villa’s luxuries of a pool and hot tub are thoroughly appreciated. Can't wait to return!

Beautiful stay

We had a really really nice vacation. Very nice property with a nice pool and jacuzzi. House was great, it’s located in a kind of a remote area under a mountain. Amazing view. The village is really neat too. House was clean, internet was great, tv was working. Very good airco as well. Katerina (the owner) was super nice and easy to talk to. Would recommend if you want a nice chill place away from the hustle and bustle. Great for kids btw.

Loved this place!

We absolutely loved this villa, it was perfect! It is located in a little village and the views from the roof top terrace are awesome, the host met us at a meeting point and we followed her to the villa. She gave us plenty of recommendations on places to eat, visit and shop for groceries. If you want an authentic Greek village stay, then this is the place. You will not regret it.

A beautiful villa in a tranquil, traditional village

A fabulously furnished villa with comfy and luxurious beds, a spacious and convivial kitchen and great outdoor areas. Three choices of terrace to enjoy the sun until mid-afternoon and the beach is an easy 10 minute drive. Fantastic evenings in the hot tub watching the stars appear and listening to the cicada chorus along with a Scops Owl if you’re lucky as we were. Katerina is a fabulous host and gave us some wonderful parting gifts which we will treasure. Highly recommended!

Entspannung pur

Die Villa liegt abseits der Touristenströme in einem kleinen Dorf am Berghang. Sie ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und hat alles was man braucht. Es war für uns idealer Ausgangspunkt für unsere Ausflüge in den Norden und Westen Kretas. Den Tag haben wir dann meistens im Whirlpool ausklingen lassen und die Sterne dabei beobachtet. Katerina war äußerst zuvorkommend und stand jederzeit für Fragen oder Tipps zur Verfügung. Wir können es nur weiterempfehlen.

Fabulous Village house

Loved this place. The location is fantastic and the views are incredible. Our host was really helpful and met us so that she could take us to the location so we wouldn't get lost. Local villages were beautiful with great tavernas and only a 10-15 minute ride to the coastal town of Kalyves where there were plenty more tavernas. Beautiful area to explore between Chania and Rethmyon. Villa was very comforatble and both the terraces, pool and hot tub were a pleasure but most of all the peace and traniquility of the location. We hope to reture and would definitely recommend it.

Très bon séjour et accueil chaleureux de Katerina

Katérina a été une hôte très à l'écoute et très disponible lorsque nous en avions besoin. Une petite attention nous a été offerte avant notre départ de la maison. Le logement est situé dans un petit village dans les hauteur à une vingtaine de km de Chania. Le logement est bien équipé avec des lits assez confortables et des climatisations dans chaque chambre. Nous avons eu plaisir de séjourner dans cette maison.

We had a great stay here! Location was excellent. House was well appointed. Comfortable beds, great kitchen. The host, Katerina, was so friendly And welcoming. When it was time to leave she presented us with homemade liquor and chocolates that her mom had made. Would definitely recommend this house.

perfekte Unterkunft für Naturliebhaber

Das Haus liegt wunderschön in einem kleinen Dorf, ist mehr als perfekt ausgestattet und man kann von dort aus in Kürze alles erreichen, wie z.B. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, tolle Badestrände, sehr nette kleine Restaurants im Nachbarort, Sehenswürdigkeiten, die Autobahn, den Flughafen Chania und vieles mehr!! Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen und das Haus auch immer weiter empfehlen!!! Durch die Größe des Hauses kann man sich auch zurückziehen, es gibt den schönen Innenhof und 2 zusätzliche Terrassen oben!! Reisezeit Mai war auch wunderschön, weil die Insel zu dieser Zeit noch so grün ist!!

A quiet place in the country

My friend and I loved our stay. Katerina was kind, hospitable and very efficient. The house was perfect. I really enjoyed the upper patio every morning and using the hot tub in the evenings. We also enjoyed strolling through the village - a beautiful place. Great location from which to explore the island, and always a wonderful place to return to after a long day.

Luxurious villa in exquisite mountain village

What is not to love about this place? We were there the first fortnight of September. The village itself, Machairoi, is in a stunning location amongst verdant hills and with a tiny church clinging to the mountain above. We'd seen it two years before - one of those places that looks magical from a distance. We hadn't realised it was one and the same place until we arrived, but it immediately made us feel at home. It's an idyllic, sleepy place with a cute square and villagers going about their lives with an occasional nod, wave, yassas or kalispera when we headed out for a walk. The round trip to Nerochori was a beautiful walk, best done after 5 when then sun is beginning to descend behind the mountains. Raises the heart rate, some of those hills! Katerina met us at the villa with a warm welcome and some tips on where to go for some late Sunday lunch food. Armenoi - perfect choice sitting amongst the Cretan sunday family revellers under the shade of some trees. The villa is well-appointed - and a decent collection of cooking and household things already in stock (better than most). It was a percent size for us two, with a sweet courtyard that got a good balance of sun and shade - breakfast outdoors is a true joy of a holiday. Katerina makes sure the villa is cleaned twice a week, which also feels like a luxury, and was always thoughtfully on hand should we need her advice. All in all, delightful. Right up to and including the sweet gifts her Mother Olga gave to us to take home. Thank you! We'll definitely be back.

Très Belle Maison

C'est une très belle maison, moderne avec du charme, entièrement rénovée. L'accueil de Katerina (en Français !) est à la hauteur avec en plus une belle attention envers nous au moment du départ. Elle était disponible et a répondu à une de nos demande particulière avec rapidité et efficacité. L'intérieur est luxueux et très confortable, avec clim sur les 2 étages, de vastes pièces agréables, tout l'équipement nécessaire. Nous n'étions que 2 et donc cette maison était particulièrement grande pour nous. Il y a par contre un manque d'ombre naturelle à l'extérieur, puisque les 2 arbres sur les photos n'existent plus. Cela fait qu'il n'y a qu'un seul petit parasol insuffisant pour se protéger du soleil Crétois, notamment le matin. Cette maison est située dans un beau petit village qu'il faut visiter, très proche des commerces et de la mer, avec une bonne situation géographique pour visiter, même si en Crête le moindre kilomètre est long. Le jacuzzi est très agréable, et un petit chat adorable nous rend visite, mais ce n'est en aucun cas une contrainte. On peut se garer à l'ombre. Nous avons passé une excellente semaine, merci Katérina, nous recommandons .

Traditional with a Modern Twist!

Villa Aladanos is traditional in its style, blending seamlessly into Meheri village. The interior design is modern, spacious and rustic in appearance. It was cool and welcoming, especially after a day out in the sun. Furthermore, the courtyard was an excellent place to relax and unwind, sitting in the hot tub with a glass of wine or two! We loved the open plan living area, which led to one of the main bedrooms. Whilst the bedroom was huge, the adjoining shower room, could have benefited from being a wet room. The stairwell spiralled to the main bedroom and roof terrace. The vaulted ceiling in the bedroom, made the room more airy and spacious. The ensuite bathroom was designed well. It featured a deep bath with a mixer shower. However, a fully fitted shower inside the bath would have been more useful! We can highly recommend two tavernas in nearby villages. Taverna Drosostalia in Armeni village was excellent value for money. The food and local wines were delicious. The portions were generous. Service was good too. A little further away in Aptera village, we ate more at The Cretan Corner. The scenic mountain views, food, wine and service was the best. The owner is very friendly and sociable. Finally, a great big thanks to Katerina, who welcomed us to villa Aladanos and ensured we had everything we needed. Should you need assistance, Katerina was at hand. We would also like to thank Katerinas mother, Olga for our lovely home made leaving gifts. It was a nice touch! We stayed for one glorious sunshine week, at the end of September 2016. Overall, we loved Chania, the beaches and the surrounding scenic villages.Villa Aladanos made for a relaxing retreat, which we know you will enjoy. Best regards David and Tracy Tyne and Wear UK

Sie suchen Ruhe und dennoch die Nähe zum Meer?

Unsere vierköpfige Familie mit zwei Mädchen mit 4 und 7 Jahren behauptet einstimmig, dass dieses Haus eine Top-Adresse für all diejenigen ist, die sich die Ruhe des Hinterlandes wünschen, aber dennoch nicht weit ab vom Schuss sein wollen. Das Haus ist perfekt ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Die Kinder genossen jeden Abend den Jacuzzi. Zweimal die Woche kommt eine Putzfrau und putzt und tauscht die komplette Bettwäsche/Handtücher aus. Dies hatten wir bislang noch nicht in unseren gemieteten Ferienhäusern – ein Traum. Ums Eck befindet sich eine kleine Kneipe mit Blick in die Ferne/zum Meer. Hier treffen sich jeden Abend die Dorfbewohner. Auch wir haben uns ein paar Mal dazugesetzt und ein Bier genossen. An einem Abend kamen sogar Musiker aus der Region zusammen und haben typische griechische Musik gespielt. Sensationell! Die Vermieterin Katerina ist sehr nett, zuvorkommend und kümmert sich um alles. Besser geht es nicht. Maheri eignet sich hervorragend für Ausflüge in alle Richtungen. Wir haben bestimmt ein dutzend verschiedene Strände besucht und jeden Tag andere Restaurants ausfindig gemacht. Ca. 3 km zwischen Meer und dem Haus befindet sich im Ort Armeni eines unserer meist besuchten Restaurants: das Drosostalia. Unbedingt ausprobieren, vor allem die Salate!

Villa in typical Cretan village with panoramic views

Villa Aladanos is a sympathetically-restored traditional Cretan property in a small village with panoramic views over the sea, mountains and surrounding countryside. It was wonderfully peaceful there - the only sounds we heard were birds singing, goats' bells ringing and the occasional dog barking! The villa is very spacious, comfortable and well equipped with excellent layout of rooms, both bedrooms having ensuite facilities. There are three verandas outside, one with a hot tub and BBQ and the other two with amazing views. The local taverna in Armeni is excellent and not far by car. The nearest decent shopping is in Kalives, a short drive from the villa. We stayed in early Spring when the flowers are at their best and day-time temperatures are very pleasant; there is solar heating for the hot water but this needed boosting with the electric water heater and we also lit the wood fire every evening. Katerina was very friendly, helpful and punctual. We would definitely stay there again!
