Girls trip 2024

The stay was very good. The villa was clean, we were provided some drinks and fruits. It’s a bit out in the village with some narrow winding roads. We were a group of 10 and were given kids single foldable beds which when we spoke to the Christos the manager and Mrs Frosso the manage to replace with proper single bare. The pool was very good and spent some time in there. We had a chef cook breakfast for us and BBQ for one night which allowed us to enjoy the villa and go around places. The villa is out in the village and you need a car to drive up and down. Overal the experience was great and would do another girls trip

Schöner Urlaub

Die Villa überzeugt im Aussenbereich auf der ganzen Linie. Im Innenbereich ist nicht alles so perfekt, wie die Bilder glauben lassen. Aber es ist absolut in Ordnung. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut. Vor allem aber ist es ein perfekter Service, der hier geboten wird. Vom Waschmittel über Spülmaschinentabs bis hin zum Kaffee und dem Gas für den Grill wird alles in kürzester Zeit aufgefüllt. Reinigung und Handtücher kann man jederzeit verlangen. Wirklich aussergewöhnlich. In der Umgebung (5 Minuten zu Fuss) befindet sich eine sehr schöne Taverne mit sehr gutem Essen. Die Organisation von der Buchung bis zur Abgabe am Schluss ist absolut perfekt. Auch ist im Kühlschrank ein gutes Startpaket an Getränken. Schön, wenn man in der Nacht ankommt und es gibt etwas zum Trinken. Die Unterkunft ist wirklich empfehlenswert. Gerne wieder.

Kreta Paradise

eine wunderbare Unterkunft mit einem fantastischen Blick. Das Haus bietet alles, was einen gelungenen Urlaub ausmacht. Toller Pool mit einem atemberaubenden Ausblick in die Berge. Das Dorf sehr süß und beschaulich mit allem, was man braucht. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der sehr schnelle Kontakt und die sehr gute Versorgung durch das housekeeping vor Ort. Alle Fragen wurden umgehend beantwortet. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!

Beautiful property

Loved this property. The views, pool and overall house were pretty fantastic. We drove in at night and it was a bit tricky to find, but when we awoke it was so beautiful we completely forgot about the drive up. Best to approach in the daylight. It was clean and spacious and we all would return.

Incredible Villa

Such an amazing villa! There were two families in our group, and there was just so much space for us to share. All the bedrooms were large and well appointed - the kitchen too. The living space was very large and comfy. But it’s the outside and pool area that’s the real ‘wow’! We spent so much time by (and in!) the huge, beautiful pool - it was just amazing.

Had a great week at Christos’ villa. Great comms and everthing was as described. 2 fantastic en-suite double and 2 twin rooms. Pool is huge, good temperature and large enough for a proper swim. Pool / beach towels were provided. The housekeeper, Mrs Frosso is a star and brought us any of the staples we needed such as washing machine powder, cleaning materials and she kept us well stocked with Nespresso coffee capsules. Nothing was too much trouble. Christos arranged for some supplies of water, milk, beer, wine and fruit for our arrival. It’s 400m walk downhill to the village where there’s a great bakery, village store and 2 lovely tavernas. Just a short walk uphill back to the villa. In summary very highly recommend for a great stay in Crete.

Perfect base location to explore Crete

This villa is nestled into the mountain village of Gavalochori. Beautiful, serene landscape and views. No human sounds, just nature. Only 7 min. drive from beach town Almyrida with nice restaurants, bakery and small shops. The villa offers great space with 4 bed rooms, We were only 4. The pool was the winner, lots of hang out places, in sun and shade. Perfect place and value for the money. The host was very responsive before and during our stay. We loved our time there!

Fabulous place to stay in amazing position

Die Villa entspricht genau der Beschreibung und wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt. Die Räume sind sehr großzügig vor allem die 2 Hauptschlafzimmer. Der Pool ist mit seinen 12x6 Metern eine Wucht. Frau Froso die Verwalterin war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles in allem eine schöne Location um den Westteil der Insel zu erkunden und jederzeit zu empfehlen Klaus

Beautiful villa in a lovely village

Very nice villa with a great location in Gavalochori! The pool area is fantastic accessed by stairs from the house and the pool is large. The view from the terrass is stunning and the living area, kitchen and master bedrooms is very spacious. Froso the house keeper is lovely and will help you with everything you need. We were 8 adults and 4 children staying in the house and it was very comfortable. The villa is stunning but we felt it’s missing a few final touches. There wasn’t enough glass ware for all of us for example and we would also have liked to have more shade on the terrasses and by the pool. The house has so much potential and with a bit more attention to details it would have been 10/10. However, we had a fantastic holiday and can really recommend it to anyone who wants a comfortable and beautiful house in a pretty village.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette magnifique maison. Endroit très calme, vue splendide. La proximité du joli village de Gavalohori est un plus. Ménage tous les jours, changement de linge tous les 2 jours : top ! Nous aurions apprécié un peu plus de vaisselle pour cuisiner ainsi que couverts et assiettes. Attention, porte du lave vaisselle cassée...

Absolutely perfect!

We ve had a perfect stay in this beautiful house. Large bedrooms, well equiped kitchen and the huge living room and nice terrace have a wonderful view to the white mountains. The pool is large and well maintained and behind (one terrace below) is even a nice garden where our kids loved to play. We were with 3 young children (5,4 and2) and it was very easy to close the stairs to the swimming pool with a chair, so our youngsters could not enter the pool unguided. That felt very safe. Mrs Frosso came by every day to maintain the house. She is really Nice, speaks English and knows a lot of the environment. The house is situated in a litlle village with a bakery, a few little supermarkets and Some Nice restaurants. It is a little but charming and friendly village. Nearby in Almyrida is a Nice beach (safe for little Children). I really can recommend this beautiful house!

A wonderful , relaxing week!

The villa was spacious , clean , and in a wonderful location , up a steep hill but overlooking the village with the mountains in the distance , a treat waking up every morning to the ever changing view. Each room had a balcony , and there was a big dining table outside with steps down to a large pool . We had a friendly cleaner who came in daily which was a bonus and was there to give advice if needed. The village was very quaint with a folk museum and a couple of supermarkets plus a bakery selling pastries which seemed to be open all the time! We ate out at two excellent tavernas - not a lot of meat available in the supermarkets for home catering. The beach was three kilometres down a very winding mountain road ; plenty of restaurants on the water front and a sandy beach with safe bathing round the bay. We hired a taxi and spent a day in Chania which was much busier than we remembered from years ago , but worth a visit and lots of restaurants round the pretty harbour to choose from. The owner ,Christos was easily contactable and helpful and we had no problems while we were there. A great holiday!!

Perfect place to unwind with a group of friends and family!

The house is as beautiful as in the photos. We were a group of three families with several children and never felt crowded. The place is clean and well maintained. Mrs. Froso comes by daily and is helpful. The kitchen is fairly well stocked with tablewear and glasswear. The location is nice, can walk down the hill to the village for charming tavernas. It takes about 10-15 minutes to the nearest beach by car. I had hoped to walk to the beaches but the route is not ideal for walking ( no trails and the roads are narrow, winding, and busy). The outdoor area of the house is amazing, great views of the mountains from the veranda. Lovely to sit out in the morning or evening and have breakfast/dinner or watch the kids enjoy the pool. The village is small but charming with friendly and helpful locals ( try the apple pastries from the bakery). Definitely hike the Samaria gorge- was the highlight of our trip. We also enjoyed Olive oil tasting at the traditional mill- Biolea, seeing nearby ruins, and the beaches, especially Falasarna. We had a great time in Alkyoni and would definitely recommend the house. Thanks for a wonderful week in Crete!

Superb

Have stayed in these villas already 3 times, and wish i had an excuse to go back more often! Each time was with a group of friends from around the world - and the consistent reactions have been totally positive. Great big spaces, amazing views, nice pools, a perfect set-up for a family or group holiday. The little village of Gavalohori is also a gem, a really special place. Christos is a responsive manager, who is on top of every request - and the on-the-spot care of Frosso is perfect. Highly recommend any of these villas - for any reason ;)
