The Deckhouse AUG 2024

My husband and I stayed five days for our anniversary. The house was exactly what we were looking for. The VRBO listing is accurate. Property Management company was responsive to any questions. Kitchen is fully stocked and the bed was comfortable. Pool was refreshing after a day exploring the area. The beach cart, towels, and chairs were super handy!

Sweet Spot

My husband and I stayed at the lovely, spacious Deckhouse with friends for a couples getaway stay-cation. There were ample accommodations thoughout, just like home, plenty of extras from beach swag to ample kitchware. Everything was clean and fresh considering having the beach sand as a neighbor. We would definitely book this location again.! Next time, we'll bring the family, there's definitely room.

It's a paradise

The nature, the beach, sunsets, flora and fauna, are incredible. Spectacular!!! The house, very clean and beautifully designed with details that makes us feel at home. The kitchen is complete with all the utensils you may need to prepare a meal for the family. Critics for the property manager. The part of the pool is kept all the time with puddles of water, because the hose is very deteriorated and the water comes out. The terraces that overlook the pool are dirty.

Disappointing

This property is in a premier location, 1/2 block to beach access and an easy walk to Pine Avenue, the heart of the city of Anna Maria. The front roof decks are a nice place to sit at night. Our comments are relative to the price paid and the description on the website. The home is badly in need of a refresh (although the kitchen seemed to be recently remodeled) and a deep clean. There were visible signs of deferred maintenance (range hood did not work, under the roof flashing missing or unattached, etc.) I generally walked away feeling that the owner needs to put some money into this property, as it could be so much more). The beach gear was in poor condition (umbrella inoperable, beach chairs rather ratty, etc.). We found the backyard decks/space uninviting. Pay close to attention to the property manager's comments re: supplies provided; they are very sparse. Anna Maria Island is a charming place that we often return to and have a point of comparison to other rental properties. This is one we wouldn't return.

Amazing location!

Fantastic house, just steps from the beautiful beach. Spacious bedrooms. Large and renovated kitchen. Full laundry room. Even includes a wine cooler which was great to store extra beverages!

Girls trip

Well the place was clean and downstairs was updated. The upstairs was nice but could use a little updating in the guest bathroom. Would I stay again yes. I don’t like to complain but I will say that with the hurricane Laura coming they said the only way to get out of the stay is if it was a catagory 5 mandatory evacuation. We were lucky that we didn’t get hit with hurricane Laura We didn’t want to cancel or get money back we just wondered if we can move the stay to another date if needed. . The hurricane was heading towards Florida which was 3 days before we got a hold of them. Also not vrbo who we rented thru it was AMI rules I didn’t see anything in fine print so just make sure you ask all questions before booking. VRBO tried to get a hold of them also but they would not budge. With or without the insurance had to be mandatory evacuation which to them catagory 5. Look what a catagory 4 did or 3 even a 2. And you have to get the insurance before the storm is named. Again very bad rules on AMI Also the refrigerator says takes 24 hours to get cold but took the 3rd day that was not good and only 2 burners on the stove work out of 5. The walk to the beach the pool and the location was wonderful!

Great family vacation

Our family really enjoyed this property. Actual house and location even better than online listing. With such easy access to the beach (3 houses away) we could come an go from the beach throughout the day. The pool was awesome as well and was a nice way to relax after a day at the beach. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to any family.

When I am looking for a property to stay at, I need one that is something that I could live in full time... The owners and management company did a wonderful job, ensured that all the extras were included to make it an easy and wonderful stay. We will be booking for next year!!! Absolutely loved it!

Great AMI rental

A wonderful location - being only 4 houses from the beach. The upgrades in the kitchen are wonderful! And it was fully stocked - which is so convenient. The pool/hot tub area was great for the kids and adults. And it was nice to relax on all the decks. We loved staying here and would certainly recommend it!

Spring Break 2020 Deck House AMI

What an amazing property! Fabulous location on a quiet street with easy access to the beach. The house was so comfortable and the many decks provided a different place to relax everyday. The house was well equipped. The house had an issue ahead of our arrival but the AMI team took great care of us and the property and made it so we could stay as planned. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location, loved the pool!

We had a memorable stay, and really enjoyed our time. The home was exactly as described, and comfortable for our family of 8. We especially loved the pool and spa, which was our saving grace with the cooler beach temperatures. Unfortunately we couldn't get the hot tub to work until our last day, which was a bummer, but the pool was nice and warm for our kids to play. We would definately stay again!
