A wonderful stay

The property is a beautiful, spacious house which, despite its grandeur, feels like a home. Everything was immaculately clean and the facilities had everything that we needed, as a family group of eight. We loved the access to a piano for the musicians among us, made much use of the table tennis table, and also spent many happy hours in the swimming pool, which is a generous size in a lovely tree-shaded spot in the garden. The grounds surrounding the house are amazing with ample places to sit and relax. Thank you so much to the hosts for their warm welcome and for sharing their house with us!

Un souvenir formidable

Nous avons passé un séjour formidable dans cette grande maison de famille. Au calme mais a proximité de Lavaur, nous n'avons rencontré aucune contrainte pratique. Le domaine est extraordinaire, plein de recoins dans cet immense jardin. La piscine est très agréable, on peut réellement y nager ce qui n'est pas fréquent. La maison a une vrai âme et nous nous sommes senti comme chez nous très rapidement. Nous y avons fabriqué des souvenirs impérissables. Les propriétaires sont également des personnes très accueillantes et attentives, répondant à toutes questions. Nous ne pouvons que vous recommander cette hébergement.

Stunning French Retreat

The only problem with staying at this property is nowhere else will seem as good! The house is as perfect as the garden. Each bedroom and bathroom tastefully decorated. The pool and surrounding area is stunning. It is completely enclosed so safe for children and pets. The owners were extremely helpful and unobtrusive. The bakery a couple of doors down (open weekends) is fantastic and there are many beautiful towns within an hours drive. If you choose this house you will not be disappointed!

Lovely and beautiful home and garden

We had a wonderful two week stay in this beautiful house and garden. The house, garden and kitchen have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Specifically the kitchen has all the equipment you could wish for. There is a lovely outside area with two bbq’s with a large table and cozy garden lights. The pool is big and self-cleaning, with a lot of space to sunbathe or relax in the shade. The house itself has 4 large perfect and with taste decorated bedrooms and one smaller bedroom. All beds are double, there is one big room with an extra single bed next to the double bed. Everything is a lot more beautiful than what you can see on the pictures. There is a boulangerie 5 min drive and on Saturday and Wednesday there is lovely market in Lavaur. We also had a tasty meal at chez John, make sure to sit outside, because inside is not so cozy. We had lovely stay, thank you very much Marylene and Pierre for the hospitality!

Amazing Property and Hosts

Just returned last Sunday after an absolutely fantastic stay at Bertalai! Amazingly equipped from the kitchen to the smallest ensuite, the hosts really have gone overboard with the facilities provided and the photographs certainly don't do the property justice. The kitchen and cooking facilities are a pleasure to look forward to, exceptionally clean inside and out, we really can't praise the property and hosts enough, pool area a real sun trap all day long Great communication before and after our stay, would highly recommend to the fussiest and most discerning guests and can't wait to go back

Super hyggelig villa

Hjertelig velkomst af Maryléne og Pierre. Et rigtig hyggeligt hus med plads til os 11 personer. Dejligt stort swimmingpool. Haven er mega hyggelig. Jeg tror jeg talte omkring 17 forskellige steder, hvor man kunne sidde enten i solen eller skygge sammen eller alene. I køkkenet var der alt hvad du skulle bruge og mere til ☺️ Jeg kan varmt anbefale boligen. En varm hilsen til Maryléne og Pierre Marianne fra Danmark

Truly outstanding holiday home

We originally booked for 2020 but were unable to go because of COVID restrictions. We were grateful that Mylene carried over our booking and overjoyed when we arrived at the house The house is magnificent and the photographs do not do it justice. Other reviews have talked about the decoration and well appointed bathrooms and they are not wrong. We were blown away. So much care, thought and attention has gone in to ensuring guests are comfortable. The beds are top notch, the kitchen is supplied with everything and more you could need to rustle up delicious food, and the grounds provide plenty of spaces to relax together or alone in quiet contemplation. We particularly enjoyed evenings under the trees lit with fairy lights. The downstairs bedroom has rails by the toilet and in the shower for those with mobility needs and there is also a handy rail to help you in and out of the pool if required. I am a wheelchair user and Mylene and her husband went out of their way to ensure I could access the property with a ramp. We have not known a generosity of spirit from property owners in the 20 years we have been visiting France. The house itself is in a quiet location but only a couple of minutes in the car to a boulangerie and five minutes to the town of Lavaur with a great Saturday market and some lovely restaurants. At the end of the road is Chez John which serves delicious food and a ten minute drive will take you to Giroussens for a memorable meal with a gorgeous view over the Tarn. There are lots of places to visit within a thirty minute drive and Toulouse and Albi both forty minutes away are great for culture, eating and shopping! We have only been back in the UK for two days but we’re already hoping to visit again in the future. Thank you Mylene and Pierre!

Séjour très agréable dans un logement super équipé, spacieux, avec piscine et table de ping-pong.

Logement très bien équipé, parfaitement adapté à un groupe de 3 familles comme nous étions avec 5 petits enfants de 6 à 14 ans. Chambres spacieuses avec salles de bain et toilettes. Espace extérieur spacieux avec belle piscine et table de ping-pong appréciées par tous. Contact avec les propriétaires très agréable, convivial, toujours prêts à nous aider tout en restant discret nous laissant la propriété sous notre complète responsabilité. Tennis tout proche dans le village, très beau golf à 20 mn et de nombreuses visites possibles à moins de 40 km. A conseiller sans hésitation. D’ailleurs nous sommes prêts à y retourner suivant nos disponibilités.

charmant et reposant

spacieuse et belle maison de caractère, très bien entretenue, grand jardin arboré et ombragé et piscine de grande qualité. Mention spéciale pour la cuisine idéalement équipée pour une grande tablée et les amoureux de la gastronomie. Grâce à cette magnifique maison, son emplacement, son superbe jardin et la piscine, nous avons passé d'excellentes vacances. L'accueil est très agréable et sympathique. Fabulous relaxing week

We were not disappointed when we arrived, we were met and shown around by the hosts. The house is beautiful, filled with all sorts of amazing things. The bedrooms are all decorated beautifully, with comfy beds and plenty of room. The bathrooms are well appointed and clean. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and enough crockery for an army! The gardens are huge and full of beautiful plants, with many areas to sit and while away an afternoon in the sunshine. There is a BBQ to use as well as a table tennis table which the children loved. The pool is fabulous, the temperature was 26-27 degrees, again plenty of areas to sit and enjoy the sun. All in all, a beautiful house, fab gardens, wonderful hosts who were able to help us with any questions we had and a super pool. We had a wonderful relaxing week in this great home. Thank you Marylene and Pierre for a great stay.

An absolutely fabulous stay in beautiful, peaceful surroundings

It's very difficult to get a true idea of this property without seeing it with your own eyes but it is, in a word, 'Magnifique'. The house is wonderful with a great kitchen, large dining room (although we ate all our meals outside), music room and lots of bedrooms. The walls are covered in works of art and lined with book cases giving the whole place a sort of bohemian feel. The grounds themselves, however, are simply breathtaking. They are vast and provided our 3 children no end of opportunities to explore. The whole place is very secure with walls and hedges going right the way round to the remote controlled double gates at the bottom of the drive and unbelievably peaceful - just being able to lounge about outside on one of the myriad sofas/outdoor beds with a good book whilst knowing that the children are around having a fabulous time playing and investigating and not having to worry about them escaping or getting injured on anything was blissful! I counted 4 outside dining areas but there could well be more and we wasted no time in enjoying our first evening meal outside in the gentle warm evening breeze under one of the large trees perfectly lit with outdoor lights and sipping one of the complimentary bottles of Bordeaux the owners very kindly left for us. The outdoor pool was a very welcome addition and the children loved it - in the pump room the owners have a collection of inflatables (and a pump!) for the pool which gave us all hours (actually, days) of fun whether we wanted to jump in and splash or just lie on one of loungers around the perimeter of the pool and sunbathe. There's also a swing and a couple of other rope 'toys' hanging from one of the larger trees in the property and these, also, were well used during our stay. We found some lovely places to visit nearby: the nearest town of Lavaur a few miles away and slightly further afield (about 30 mins) the very picturesque Albi and even a walk to the local bakery for our morning croissants - there was plenty to do but with everything this property had to offer, we were loathed to do much more than that! We only stayed a week here but both my wife and I wished it could have been for much longer and found that we couldn't stop just looking around us and remarking on the beauty and tranquility of the place.

Formidable séjour!

Cette ravissante maison a accueilli toute la famille durant deux semaines et tout le monde s'y est senti très bien..Un grand jardin et une multitude de petits recoins pour ceux qui veulent la paix, à l'ombre ou au soleil ! Fruits cueillis directement dans le verger! Maison fraîche (malgré la canicule), spacieuse et conviviale. Equipement au top pour les cuisiniers en herbe..Quant au coin piscine: simplement magnifique avec son petit air de Toscane qui nous a fait voyager (sans les inconvénients du genre grève air france en plein mois d'août). Accueil charmant et décontracté. Endroit idéal pour se ressourcer: lire, dessiner, cuisiner, nager ou simplement... rêver. Un grand merci à Pierre et Marylène.

Superbe villa à la campagne

Un îlot de tranquillité dans la douce campagne du Tarn. La maison est superbe, parfaitement équipée, spacieuse. La piscine pour se rafraîchir, le piano pour faire ses gammes, la table extérieure sous un arbre immense pour les longues soirées barbecue/pétanque...et la campagne, magnifique, vallonnée, réjouissante... L'accueil est très convivial, les propriétaires toujours disponibles. Bref, 15 jours passés à Bertalay, passés trop vite!

A beautiful elegant house and gardens -perfect for tranquility and relaxation

Thank you to Marylene and Pierre for being such hospitable and thoughtful hosts. The house is amazing with beautifully decorated rooms and a kitchen that has every possible culinary requirement. We loved the garden which is arranged for finding peace/solitude or for gathering as a group under the trees for meals (where we mostly ate). My husband found many great opportunities for drawing around the garden and we enjoyed the wonderful produce that Serge, the gardener provided. The pool is perfectly situated and very well supplied for both water activities and lounging in the sun. The area offers a very high quality restaurant (Chez John) within walking distance which is run by an English Chef and there are many historic and interesting towns to visit in the area (Albi, Gaillac). Everyone met here was very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend staying here.

Très belle propriété au très grand charme

Magnifique demeure familiale très bien décorée et très bien entretenue. Cuisine de rêve pour les apprentis cuisiniers. Maison très bien équipée. Divers espaces extérieurs pour s'isoler, se reposer, déjeuner ou dîner. Grande piscine malheureusement non chauffée et peu exposée au soleil, d'où une eau assez fraîche. Christophe et Anne-France

Séjour parfait !

Cette maison a un charme vraiment particulier où l'on se sent comme chez soi. Très spacieuse toutes les pièces sont à découvrir avec bonheur. Pour les mélomanes le piano à queue est un vrai régal. Le jardin est dans le même acabit avec énormément de coins aménagés et ombragés ou l'on peut se prélasser au calme. La piscine ne dénote pas non plus et suffisamment spacieuse pour y passer des moments très agréables. Très bien situé juste à côté du charmant village de Lavaur, on peut facilement accéder à Toulouse ou Albi. Pour finir, des propriétaires qui font tout leur possible pour que l'on s'y sente bien. Un grand merci à vous.

Une location exceptionnelle

La location de Bertelai est exceptionnelle. La maison est idéalement située. Elle est à côté de la commune de Lavaur qui a beaucoup de charme et qui est très accueillante. Il y a des visites très intéressantes à faire dans la région. La maison est magnifique, spacieuse avec une décoration étoffée. La literie est d'excellente qualité et la cuisine est très bien équipée. Les hôtes sont accueillants et veillent à ce que l'on se sente à l'aise. Le jardin est tout simplement sublime. Il a beaucoup de charme et recèle de petits coins propices au repos et à la détente. La location est idéale pour un séjour au calme en famille.

Excellent séjour

Nous avons bien apprécié cette très belle maison qui a beaucoup de charme, très bien décorée avec une grande piscine agréable pour nager. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut pour bien cuisiner. Les propriétaires sont charmants.

Enthousiaste

Nous avons passé 15 jours dans une grande maison, pleine de charme, décorée avec goût et donnant le sentiment d'être chez soi. La maison est spacieuse, agréablement fraîche, grandes chambres, literie très confortable, cuisine impressionnante, vaste et très bien équipée. L'extérieur de la maison est lui aussi très plaisant: lieux ensoleillés alternant avec endroits ombragés, multiples massifs de fleurs, pelouse et magnifique piscine. Le lieu est très calme et reposant. Tout est très bien entretenu, il fait bon y vivre. La maison est très bien située permettant de rayonner facilement dans le Tarn. Et enfin, ce qui est important pour nous, les propriétaires sont très accueillants et sympathiques.
