The stay was great, all meals included. The location makes for graet memories if the elephants are clise enough. The lodge itself is beautiful. Very traditional layout. The good was great, service by the staff was great too.

2/10 Terrible

No le gustó: Personal y atención, servicios
We booked two Queen Bed rooms through Expedia. The listing only allowed one guest to be selected for this room type, and when we tried to change it to two guests, the room became unavailable. Since each room has a queen-size bed and we were two couples traveling together, we reasonably assumed the room could accommodate two guests. We paid $616 for 2 rooms. We fully expected that the hotel might charge an additional fee for the second guest upon arrival. However, when we checked in, the staff never mentioned any additional charges. Instead, the concierge invited us to lunch first. After lunch, when we returned to collect our room keys, we were suddenly told that we had to pay an additional $820 for the two extra guests. This made no sense to us. The surcharge was even higher than the cost of the rooms themselves. When we asked for an explanation, the staff could not provide a clear breakdown and appeared to make up the amount on the spot, even trying to charge us for Expedia’s commission, which should never be passed on to the customer. Given the unreasonable and unexplained charges, we decided not to stay. However, the hotel refused to cancel our reservation or issue a refund. As a result, we wasted over three hours dealing with this situation and lost approximately $500 USD. This was an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. At best, the pricing was highly misleading, and the hotel’s handling of the situation was unfair and unprofessional.

Unique surroundings and lovelly ambiance

Unique surroundings with Kilimanjaro on the background and animals roaming free right before your eyes. Not a new property nor all features what you would expect from a high-end hotel, but the ambiance is so great. The staff also very friendly. I don’t think we have ever been as relaxed as in Ol Tukai!

Overall, a wonderful experience. Every member of the staff connected with us. They were professional, personable, caring, efficient, helpful and thorough. Made us feel so welcome. Could not do enough to make us happy. The culture of Ol Tukai is amazing - every employee seems to have been hand-picked first for their engaging and genuine character. Then they have been trained in every aspect of hospitality.

Best weekend ever!

This was probably the best experience we have ever had. The hotel in the middle of the park so the views are absolutely amazing. We even got to see Mt. Kilimanjaro! The food was incredible, a variety of options and each one was amazing. Spa was also great very good and high quality essential oils used. And Isaac our Safari guide was incredible, he promised to try as hard as he could to find all the animals and he sure delivered! We were in the middle of a heard of a elephants, greatest experience ever, saw lionesses with their cubs, hippos, giraffes, buffalos, impala you name it!
