There are a few things to know about this hotel. First, when you are initially arriving, be on the lookout for the big sign that says “Western Horseman”. This is the sign for the club next to the hotel, but this is the parking lot you are looking for. Secondly, the door for the front desk is next to the door for club entrance. The hotel door is sliding glass. We had trouble finding the hotel and the front entrance when we first arrived to check in, so I just want to help other people avoid confusion. There is a logo for the hotel on the sign but you can’t read the “Cactus Cove” name from the highway because it is small and the club/bar portion of the sign is much bigger and more clearly legible. Third thing to note is if you park around the back of the hotel, you will have to walk all the way around because the back doors are kept locked (lock and key locked, not accessible with keycard for the room)
As for the review of the hotel itself, the courtyard is very cute. The room is standard, with a mini fridge and a microwave, small coffee pot, hair dryer, and a tv. The room itself was clean and it was comfortable enough. We didn’t have any issues with loud noises, but to be fair, we also hardly spent any time in the room. We really only went to the hotel to sleep and shower. The free breakfast includes make your own waffles (waffle maker) bagels, toast, cereal, milk, juice, apples. They have additional options that cost about $9, such as breakfast burritos or meat and eggs.
