Our family of four stayed for three nights and it was the ultimate Big Bend experience. For the astrophotographers: this property is a dream. It sits under true Bortle 1 skies, and the 40-acre seclusion is unbeatable. We set up our gear right outside the screened porch, which provided good visibility of the sky for tracking deep-sky objects. It was incredibly convenient to run power from the porch to our gear, and the WiFi was impressively fast. The screened porch itself was a lifesaver, it provided excellent protection from the desert wind and critters while we monitored our captures.The house is cozy and well-equipped. We brought a blow-up mattress for one of the kids since there are two bedrooms, and it fit easily. Between the thick adobe walls and the carport, we stayed cool and protected. If you want private, dark skies with all the comforts of home, this is it.
