After an issue with VRBO, we were given this hotel as an alternative accommodation. It was extremely expensive for what is essentially a very cheap, outdated, and poorly maintained hotel. We were given a room for four people with two small beds, and we could barely sleep. All we wanted was to get through the night and leave as quickly as possible. It is disgraceful that VRBO would offer such a hotel as an alternative, especially at such an inflated price. This experience was completely unacceptable, and I will not book through VRBO again.

We booked a room with a private bathroom, the room was clean and had all the basic morning needs; kettle, tea, instant coffee and sugar. The bathroom was recently updated, it was well done and served us well. We got there on a Saturday and were informed about their live band playing in the bar that night, our room was at the back so we were not disturbed by it. A nice spot to bed down on our road trip.

The hotel had a big (wedding) party and other extremely noisy activities going on. One could not hear oneself think. When I asked the staff they said it was going on all night long and in so many words suggested we go elsewhere. They were relieved to see us go!

First night of arrival I had seabass with potatoes and salad which was very good. The table was sticky and had not been cleaned properly. The back door / stairway leading to the room and the actual room were extremely dirty. I would not book again on the above basis.

Shabby entrance, reception and stairs. Entrance stinks of smoke, reception and stairs need a re-fit. Lady on reception/bar tried her best and a gent promised a hairdryer to be brought to the room but it never arrived. There was no hair dryer in room or available to borrow or hire. Room very cramped but bathroom clean, modern and tidy. Cheap, but still £148 for a night.

It was terrible the reception was very abusive and right from the moment we checked in and the rooms were disgusting and for all of that they had the cheek to charge £110 per night. Never again if it wasn’t for every other hotel fully booked for bank holiday I would have walked straight back out.

Room was old fashioned and not in good condition. I booked a single and got a single bed, a very poor mattress, 1 blanket which was only a sheet really and 1 very poor pillow. I checked out of the hotel at 5.30am to get out of this place. B&Bs are better than this place, not a hotel at all, just old rooms over a bar. They took a £60 deposit and promised twice it would be back at 12pm next day. I had to email and didn’t receive for about 3+ days later

Very disappointing. The the room need a global renovation. The wallpaper is peeling off the wall, the bed are squeaky, the mattress tired, the radiator repairs done on the radiator fixation are poor DIY. The shared bathroom is OK, but have mould in the caulk. The deposit has been returned 7 days later. The price is good, I easily accept some quirks, but here it's a lot. Sorry.

Restaurant and bar was closed. Stairs was very scruffy and room door was sticking, it was actually the hinges that were coming loose. The room itself was reasonable and bathroom looked to have been just refurbished. The one member of staff that was there was helpful and I did report the door to him.
