The River 2025

We drove from Auburn, AL because the boys wanted to fish the St. Lawrence River. The house was perfect. Very clean and spacious. Great LOCATION. The owners were WONDERFUL

This is a beautiful and very well equipped house. The owners thought of anything we might need for our stay. The location was great especially with the rented pontoon boat. We had excellent access to the picturesque Thousand Islands. We would definitely recommend this home. The owners were super helpful!

Wonderful family vacation on the River

We reserved this location for our annual family reunion. Our group was 12 people and we had no issues. The house was clean, very well maintained and the layout was great for our group. Plenty of bathrooms, which was important for our group. The house was solid. Our room was on the basement level and we did not hear any footsteps overhead. We were there for the hottest week of the summer, so far, and the climate control handled it just fine. The appliances were modern. The grounds were peaceful and we even caught largemouth bass off the dock! The available kayaks were enjoyed by the younger members of our group, but waters were weedy and no one was tempted to go swimming. Close enough to town, but not a short walk. It was adjacent to a marina, but that posed no problems or issues. The owner was quick to respond to any inquiries we had and easy to deal with. Bottom line: would definitely consider returning here again in the future. Great house!

Great time on the river

The home is clean and the kitchen has everything you need to cook. Property owners attentive and easy to talk to. We rented the boat they had available and it was a must to get around and see the beauty of the river. You can walk into town from the property which is nice. Would recommend this home.

Great House for Extended Family

This is the perfect house for a large group! Lots of opportunities to be together but the layout also allows for privacy. We so enjoyed the view and all the extras. The host is very attentive and responsive.

Carnegie Bay Cottage

Such a beautiful place for our family to be together for a week. The cottage easily accommodated our combined family of 13. It was clean and well stocked with everything needed for cooking and playing games. The sleeping arrangements were perfect with plenty of bathrooms for a big group. The area is very charming with a cute town within walking distance. The owners quickly responded to all of my questions. We really enjoyed our time there and hope to return someday!

Our group of 12-6 kids and 6 adults vacation together every year. We love boating and being on the water. Carnegie Cottage did not disappoint! It was a 15 minute walk to town and being right on the water was perfect!

Perfect Relaxation

Excellent provision. Great setting. Loved sitting on the lawn. More than enough space for our 11 seniors. Limited steps outside and multiple entrances. Enjoyed kayak and corn hole and closeness to pickleball and ABay.

Great Family Vacation

The house was great! Beautiful and well appointed. Pictures are spot on. Everyone had their own space and were able to be together without feeling like we were on top of each other. Location is ideal, short walk to Alex Bay and very near Golf Course. The owners were great to deal with and very responsive throughout our stay. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic Family Vacation

This house was perfect for our needs. We had 12 people and everyone had their space. It was very clean and well equipped, especially the kitchen. The boat dock was important to us and we couldn't have asked for it be more convenient. The kayaks were used almost daily as was the fire pit. There are lots of chairs available for sitting on the deck or around the fire pit. Great location for walking into town. It's obvious that Paul and Sue take pride in their property. Paul was very responsive when we had questions. A very pleasant experience all around.

Great Rental

Got the place to host family for a week. Beautiful setting, modern and comfortable accommodations. Close to town, restaurants and shopping really convenient. If you rent this property, get a boat, easy access to the river and all the attractions! Paul and Sue are super hosts! Definitely will be a return visitor.

Perfect Family Retreat

This property is beautiful and exactly as advertised. It is spacious and clean with everything you would ever need. We only went out one night because it was easier to stay in and everything we needed to cook was at our disposal. Plenty of room for boats and the surroundings are very bucolic. Just a 15 minute walk into town. Highly recommend and looking forward to staying again next year,

Excellent experience!

The property was all and more of what was advertised. Very clean, spacious inside and out, and a load of amenities. Property owner was very helpful and always available by text or phone if necessary. We did not need a lot of contact with the owner. They really laid everything out nicely. Accessibility to downtown Alexandria Bay was super easy. Take a boat, five-minute ride by vehicle, or a very nice 15-minute walk into downtown! Would highly recommend this property!

Perfect Vacation and Great Experience

This property is not your typical "cottage", but a beautiful house. This home was everything that was advertised and more. This was the first time that I had rented a home for a family vacation, and I was extremely pleased with the entire experience. The home was very comfortable, and there was plenty of space for the 8 of us. It could easily accommodate 12 as advertised. The back deck was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy morning coffee and a glass of wine later in the day. The property manager/caretaker and owner were very easy to deal with. The property owner even called me to check in and make sure that everything was good. You can tell that the owner takes great pride in his property. I would certainly rent this property again and certainly recommend this house to others. 5Stars!!!

Amazing property and location! Secluded enough for quiet but close enough for a walk into Alex Bay.

The overall experience was perfect. Couldn’t have gone better. Kayaks on site for use as well with all the necessary amenities to make you feel like you are at home, if not even an improved home! A++

Beautiful!

I can't say enough about Carnegie Bay Cottage. The home was beautiful, clean, and very well appointed. Perfect location and close to everywhere you want to go. Pride of ownership shows in this home. Melody was a dream; so helpful in every possible way - from suggestions on where to eat, what to see, and where the best swimming spots are. We would definitely stay again!

Big house on the river

The house is clean and modern with a spacious living and dining room. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped with all manner of pots, pans, coffee makers, containers, and gadgets. The back lawn has plenty of room for games. The location is a narrow bay off the river which allows for easy docking of a boat. The owner was eager to make our week-long stay pleasant and enjoyable.

Wonderful experience

The house was immaculate and very comfortable. The kitchen was great to cook in and had everything you could need. The owner Paul is very hospitable and the caretaker Melody is very helpful too. The location is convenient for anything you want to do. We had a great stay and we're already planning our trip back!
