The family loved the quiet cove that the Bungalow is situated on! Great fishing and wildlife opportunities. The children were ecstatic at catching their first fish of the fall season. Everyone enjoyed kayaking around the cove to watch the wildlife. We also enjoyed sitting out on the back dining deck for meals and family game time!

We enjoyed this place so much and can’t wait to return. The inside is pretty and decorated beautifully. The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen is equipped, two nice bathrooms with good size showers. The fireplace in the dining area was my favorite place to sit and have coffee. We went fishing on the private dock and enjoyed the fire pit. If you’re in the area this is where you should stay hands down.

Dock, view, and swimming were amazing! Quiet neighborhood as well. Being able to take our dog was a huge plus! There were some concerns with regard to cleanliness, but I talked directly with the hosts and they are addressing those things. Communication with hosts was great.

Cozy Home on The Lake

Me and my family enjoyed our stay at The Blue Heron Bungalow, the location and the amenities of the home were perfect. Communication with the owner was prompt and the checkin process was simple. We really enjoyed hanging out on the dock and floating in the lake near the dock. We will definitely be back.

Comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, but what we loved most was the dock! We watched wildlife, fished and played cards rain or shine on the dock. Plus there was a ramp into the shallow water, which our Labrador retriever took full advantage of!

Lake life is the best

My family and I could get used to waking up and having coffee on the dock every morning while watching bald eagles catch fish out of one of the most peaceful coves in the lake. The house was cozy and we enjoyed the fire pit. Can't wait to come back!

Great Stay

We had a fun time here with our family. This little home is very nice and was equipped with everything we needed. The beds were VERY comfortable. Our hosts were welcoming and easy to communicate with. The lake view is beautiful, lots of seating outside to enjoy it. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking to stay in this area, we would book again!

This spot was perfect for a last-minute mother-daughter getaway! We found it to be adequately stocked with necessities and exceptionally clean. It's located on a quiet cove not too far from the main road, so there is easy access to the main roads. The hosts' communication was top-notch, and we couldn't have had a better weekend. I can definitely see us returning!

Lake House

We really enjoyed the house. A few things could have enhanced our stay. The kitchen could use attention. It was difficult to fix meals due to the lack of utensils, pots and pans and silverware. The bathrooms did not have shampoo or conditioner. Most rooms either had a step up or down so it was difficult to maneuver especially with mobility issues. The master bedroom could use blackout curtains. On the up side, the beds were exextremely comfortable.

More room than a hotel would have given

We enjoyed being on the lake but didn't have enough time to enjoy it. There was a small fishing pole on a shelf in the house and spouse utilized. I sat by firepit and he went down to catch a fish. Low and behold, he got one and threw back.

Cute Cottage on Great Part of Lake

Two couples and one son attending the Uwharrie Jeep Jamboree stayed for the long weekend. Wive's got to enjoy the lake and vicinity while we jeeped in the National Forest. Perfect home to stay for all to have a good time. Place was spotless, beds were comfy, all necessary items provided. Great communications with owner. Couldn't recommend more highly!

Wonderful time

We had an amazing stay at the Blue Heron Bungalow. Perfect location. The cove is one of the best on Lake Tillery and you are far back enough to avoid boat traffic. Dock was great and able to fit the boat nicely. Will definitely stay again.

Relaxing and peaceful

We had a very pleasant 4-day stay. The home was clean and just as it appears in the photos. It is in a quiet neighborhood, and also down a quiet part of Lake Tillery in a cove. The dock was large enough for all to hang out, complete with chairs, a ring toss game, and a couple of kayaks that we did enjoy using out in the cove. Up in the yard there were chairs set around a fire pit, and another set on the deck next to the house with comfy cushions kept in a bin. The house was well stocked with utensils, basic supplies, games, and towels. The beds were comfortable, and It was handy to have a washer and dryer, and 2 full bathrooms. The only very minor inconvenience were the barn doors that connected two bedrooms to a bathroom in between. We had a 9-month old baby with us, and the pack n play only fit in those two bedrooms. Barn doors do not close into frames, so light and noise from the bathroom and laundry make it not very private. They were adorable, but not great for noise privacy. Not a deal breaker, but worth mentioning. The whole house was nicely decorated and very comfortable, and the owners quickly responded each time I had a question. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great time at the Blue Heron Bungalow for a couple nights. The house was super clean and the hosts were very accommodating! The cove is very quiet and we enjoyed taking the kayaks out & being able to keep our boat there to go out on the lake as well. Being pet-friendly was a big plus! Thanks for a great couple days on the lake!
