Overall, the stay was very nice. But the stay was was marred by the initial check in. A week in advance, we received very detailed check in instructions. Key pad and code, lock box, etc. so after driving 14 hours, we get there after dark, primed with our detailed instructions. Key code did not work and there was no lock box. We stood in the cold just looking. Luckily someone thought to look under the mat and there was a key!? So we got in thankfully, luckily. We did call after hours and the owner, Beau, was extremely responsive and was able to get keys and help us get the guest house open, after a while. And while there were a few normal glitches with someone else’s house, the overall stay was lovely and very clean. But when I tried to communicate with the property manager Carrie, she was terse and extremely unapologetic regarding the debacle of check in. She had one job. Making sure we could get in to the property. A simple walk through after the last tenants left would have prevented this. Carrie, as clean as a property is does nothing if the tenants cannot access it. For others, I’m sure they have corrected the broken key pad and misplaced lock box so you can rent knowing the property is lovely, clean, and a great location.
