A very well appointed self contained unit located directly below the owners house. The hosts are thoughtful and friendly and provided everything one might need for self catering, including a hearty breakfast and a few beers. The sunny garden, pool area and views were amazing. We loved the sunsets! There was free car parking which was a bonus and it was easy to get around the island - we travelled east and west without issues. The apartment was spacious and comfortable for two with every appliance you could need. They have really thought of everything! Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Perfect area for exploring the island. You are out of the Honolulu traffic and can explore the north shore and west sides of the island with ease. The view is amazing, and the unit has all the necessities and more. The wonderful hosts even had breakfast items and a few beers waiting for us in the fridge. They are truly lovely people and their place is perfect as a home base.

Grant and Vicky both went above and beyond to make us feel at home, to include introducing us to their fur babies, who were never a problem and never bothered us. We felt comfortable and private. The VRBO very thoroughly stocked for comfort and convenience. Wish we had more time on our visit, we would have loved to spend personal time with Grant and Vicky for dinner or other.

Finished up our stay in Oahu at the Rainbow Inn and it was perfect. Everything was as described and more. The location and parking were perfect for our day trips. My kids enjoyed the pool and beach supplies greatly. The cooler was convenient to throw in the car as well. The washer and dryer and kitchen allowed us to have more family time. Hosts were helpful, kind and communicative. The check-in/check-out was clear. We will definitely stay again when we return to Hawaii!!

We had the most amazing stay at the Rainbow Inn! Vicky and Grant were the most hospitable hosts. They live upstairs from the separate downstairs apartment. We stayed over Christmas and Vicky dropped off some delicious Christmas cookies which was a special touch. There were 4 adults that stayed which was perfect, or 2 adults and 2 or 3 kids would also work well. I would not recommend this if you have significant mobility issues just because you have to walk down a little hill with pavers and walk by the pool to get into the unit. I would say its perfect for anyone unless they are using a walker or wheelchair. The views were the best, overlooking Pearl Harbor. We got to see beautiful sunsets and a couple rainbows while we were there too! I would HIGHLY recommend a stay here!

Vicky and Grant are wonderful hosts. Always quick with responses to inquiries prior to our visit and then greeting us to give us a tour of the apartment and property.The kids room and pool were perfect for our 3 and 7 year old. The view is stunning. Make sure you sit on the bench under the trees and look up the valley. Tropical paradise!My only regret was not having a chance to get to know Vicky and Grant better than our quick passing conversations. Thank you for the clean, comfortable and beautiful home away from home. Oh, and for the delicious loquat jam!

Hosts were very attentive and amenities were great.What didn’t go well was that we were not expecting the hosts to be staying in the same unit as us. We paid a little extra for this stay because it was advertised as private and it was the basement of the hosts house. Hosts are very kind but we were very caught off guard and disappointed by what felt like false advertising.

Just like the pool, all was fabulous! Air conditioning, fans and guest closet with all the pool and beach toys!! Only recommendations would be a clock, maybe above fireplace. Most people don’t want to know the time, but if you have a reservation for a fun expensive event, always good to know time!Also, take advantage of the tram! Just at the bottom of the hill to go east or west!

Das Rainbow Inn ist ein toller Platz um Honolulu und Oahu zu erkunden.Der Blick über die Landschaft und Pearl Harbour ist jedesmal wieder wunderschön und wir können das Rainbow Inn nur wärmstens empfehlen.Vicky und Grant sind sehr nette Gastgeber.Der Pool ist traumhaft und die Wohnung hat alles was man für den Urlaub braucht.Vielen herzlichen Dank für eine wunderschöne Woche im Rainbow Inn.

We stayed at Rainbow inn as a 3-day extension to a cruise of the islands. Everything people say about the Inn and hosts is 100% correct. Everything you need is there including a start to some breakfast items, beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, etc.! Vicky & Grant go above and beyond the norm for VRBO hosts. The views of the hillside, gorge, and harbor are breathtaking. They maintain their own grounds and the flowering shrubs and views are a welcome sight to a long day! I've already recommended this stay to two other families! Thanks for a great short stay!

We really enjoyed staying at the Rainbow Inn. Vicky and Grant have thought of everything you could need, including breakfast foods in the fridge upon arrival. The property and views are incredible! It was great to be able to swim in the pool after a day of sightseeing. Everything was communicated in advance and Vicky was so easy to work with. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Lovely home in Pearl Harbor area

Beautiful home, close enough to Pearl Harbor and Waikiki to visit all the attractions but far enough away to feel Zen in their lovely salt water pool. Vicky was a gracious host, making sure we had everything we needed and even shared some delicious homemade jam. Don't know when next we'll be in Oahu, but hope this wonderful place will be available.

Ideal in every way

The Rainbow Inn was perfect for our family of four.We chose the Aiea area because we knew, from a prior trip to Oahu, that the neighborhood is a perfect base for exploring the entire Island. The reviews and the photos of the property made our decision easy, and we had high hopes for our stay.Vicky and Grant and their little oasis on the edge of the valley overlooking Pear Harbor outperformed all of our expectations!Our plane arrived 9 hours late from Seattle. We kept Vicky updated on our progress and she was outside waiting to give us a quick tour before we rushed to shower, eat the thoughtfully provided and much needed breakfast, and head to our USS Arizona Memorial reservation. Being greeted by a smiling and sympathetic host, after what turned into a 14-hour layover in Seatle, was just what we needed, and we are so grateful!The lower level of the Inn, for guests, is very private and so much larger than we expected! We ate breakfasts and dinners there daily and spent most of our days out and about. Coming "home" to take a dip in the pool and relax poolside was icing on the cake.Vicky and Grant were friendly and welcoming and there to help, if needed.We would absolutely stay at the Rainbow Inn again. Thank you to Vicky and Grant for sharing their little slice of heaven on Oahu.
