We did not notice in the listing that this is a duplex like place with multiple suites under one roof. The walls were super thin and we could hear the people staying next to us, all hours of the night. The king size bed was dipping in the middle which made the bed very uncomfortable. The bathroom door did not shut right unless you fiddled with it to make it close all the way. Also the bathroom window has no lock on it. Other than these issues, the place was very clean and had a nice set up. We did enjoy the billiard table and the view.

Home Away From Home

Our stay at Deer Haven amazing. Check in was a breeze and home was spotless. The game room was a hit with my adult children and grand children. The hot tub was clean, hot and ready for this tired grandma/mom to relax. Communication with property owners when we had questions were answered promptly and efficiently. We would love to stay here again. You will not be disappointed in this rental 10/10.

Deer Haven

Stayed here with my friend for hiking in Yosemite. We did half-dome and mainly were able to score a lottery spot because of the wifi as there is virtually no reception within Yosemite. Overall, the place was great! The location worked well for Yosemite although you should expect an hour and a half drive to the valley. Wawona is closer by about 45 minutes. Given the geographic layout it does not get much better. You are also 15 minutes north of various stores including grocers, sporting goods, and convenience which is rare to be close to Yosemite and have these pleasantries. (We forgot some camping gear so Big 5 down the road was a Big Save) The amenities were more than sufficient. Although, no access to laundry. We did not need this as we were hiking everyday and did not care too much for smells. It is nice to take a hot shower after half dome if you ever get the opportunity. Oakhurst has plenty of good restaurants and seemed to be the closest for meals. Checking in was easy. Just watch your email for the shared link with instructions on how to get there. Pay attention to the address listed AND the city. Had no issues finding the place or following instructions to get in. Key code was communicated via email well before check in. The backyard view was also fantastic for a couple of flat landers. Great price, Great location, Great time. Would do it again.

Good location but lacking in cleanliness

We had a fabulous time visiting Yosemite. The location of Deer Haven is great for day trips in and out of the park. However, the property is in need of a good cleaning and upgrades. Living area is nice size with large TV/entertainment area but furniture is worn. Large kitchen with very basic amenities. For the price we expected much better. Stay for the location but do not expect more than basic accommodations.

Great location, lacks amenities

The location and layout of this home were great for 2 families of four who were visiting Yosemite. The drive to Yosemite was an hour and 30 minutes into the valley, but the drive was beautiful. The house lacked some amenities that would have been nice. We had to buy our own toilet paper after we ran out, and there were few kitchen supplies (enough for basic cooking, but not enough utensils or dishes for 8 people). The hot tub was cold most of the time we were there and we couldn't figure out how to get it hot (the kids didn't mind!). The listing says there is a washer and dryer, but we didn't find it. Overall, though, a great place. Just bring some extra supplies from home if you are traveling locally.

Birthday weekend for our teenage son

This was a great place to celebrate our teenage son's birthday with a few of his friends. They loved the game room, hot tub, and close trip to the snow. It was weekend we will always remember! Thank you!

Great place to stay to visit that's reasonably close to Yosemite

We enjoyed our stay at this property and our trip to Yosemite. This place is about 55 miles from the park. Grocery stores, Starbucks, and couple of restaurants in 8-10 mins drive. The place is clean and very suitable for family trips when staying for more than one nights. Carl was very responsive and helpful. We enjoyed out stay. A couple of improvements make this place even better for winter stays with kids since the days are short: 1. Kids enjoyed the air hockey table a lot. However it needs some minor repairs. 2. Replacing few cooking utensils. Makes it easy when travelling with small kids. We are looking forward to staying in this place again.

Deer Haven review

The property is clean and well accomodated. Master bed was extremely comfortable. Disney + and Netflix for the kids when we got back from a day of hiking was welcome. The pool table and air hockey were also big hits. It's still over an hour into the heart of the park, but it was a great stay overall.

Great Yosemite getaway

Was looking for a place relatively close to Yosemite for a long weekend dad / sons getaway and this was perfect. After long days hiking in Yosemite, relaxing in the hot tub and playing in the games room was awesome. Would definitely stay again.

Fun Family Get Away

The house was great with Hot tub, Pool table and Air hockey, very clean and spacious. Two great towns within 1/2 hour drive. Awesome drive thru Yosemite. Owners always available for question. Wonderful place for family memories.

Great Family Getaway

Deer Haven was a fantastic place for my family of 7 to stay. My kids loved the game room and the hot tub. It wasn't too far from a grocery store (10 minutes) and the drive to Yosemite was pretty nice. My only complaints (which were already addressed with the owner) were that the hot water in the master bathroom stopped working while we were there (not much you can do about that), and the lack of necessary supplies. -only 1 towel per person (literally no extras) -only 2 hand towels between the 2 bathrooms -only 1 dishtowel -0, I repeat, 0 pot holders or oven mitts (this really hindered our cooking) -very limited dishes for cooking -no extra blankets (and it was COLD at night) All in all, the good was better than the bad. But I have stayed in enough short-term rentals to know that these supplies should be provided to make your stay nicer. It would be easier to say we would stay here again if I knew that this was not going to be a problem next time.

Weekend stay

Price was a bit much. Charge for every little thing. Wouldn’t recommend going through VRBO. A lot of hidden fees. I inquired about other listings where most owners were not going to charge for the toddlers we had but this place did not care. They also could use more cookware in the kitchen and more towels. We used the same towels the whole weekend. We also had to wash dishes that were still dirty with old food when we arrived. Everything else was great. Just expected a little bit more for the price we paid for a day and a half. Check out is super early. Read the fine print and also view the fees. The dollar amount per night is false, especially after you input the nights and how many guests. They charge a whole lot more for all guests. Their are other rental websites that only charge what it states per night plus cleaning fee. But overall this place was 8/10.
