Twin furnished self-catering studio for relaxation

  • Labyrinth Studios is a family run self-catering establishment.

    Located on the south coast of Crete, in the area of Plakias, with easy access to beautiful beaches such as: Preveli with its palm trees, Damnoni, Shinaria, Ammoudi, Souda and Plakias. Set in over an acre of olive groves, this lovely natural setting offers a friendly, secluded and relaxing atmosphere.

    Labyrinth Studios are about one kilometre from the beach of Damnoni and one and a half kilometers from Plakias, a beautiful traditional Cretan village with all necessities such as convenience store, rent a car / motorcycle, bank cash points, doctors, pharmacies, super markets, restaurants, fish taverns, bars, in general anything one needs for a carefree holiday.
    All studios are equipped with satellite and local TV, air conditioning, WC with shower, terrace/ balcony with chairs and table overlooking the olive grove, gardens and pool.

    In all of these studios there is Wi-Fi internet access free of charge.

    In the garden there is a swimming pool, with umbrellas and deck chairs. There is also a shower for our guests.
    The owners, Fotis & Katerina, will give you a warm welcome and take care of their guests personally, making sure that they enjoy a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
    Labyrinth Studios operate from beginning of April until end of October.

Our hosts were very warm and welcoming. We enjoyed our morning coffee and evening happy hour around the lovely pool next to the olive grove.

Umgebung toll

Katerina und Fotis sorgen sich sehr zuvorkommend um ihre Gäste, geben viele wertvolle Tipps, pflegen die Anlage sorgfältig und sind immer zur Stelle, wenn man sie benötigt. Die Lage des Hauses zwischen zwei Buchen (Plakias und Damnoni) ist ideal für alle Vorlieben. Ein Stern muss leider abgezogen werden, weil das Haus an einer lauten Durchgangsstraße liegt, so dass man nicht bei offenem Fenster schlafen kann. Aber es gibt eine Klimaanlage.

Comfortable with nice touches but too far from amenities

Fotis was very helpful and welcoming. The pool and surroundings were immaculate and well-maintained. The studio was comfortable and well equipped with some thoughtful welcoming touches. The balcony was sunny and pleasant but overlooked a busy road with associated traffic noise. We hadn't realised it was more than walking distance (for us!) to amenities so it was necessary to drive everywhere. For that reason alone we are unlikely to return but it is a good base for touring the locality.

Fotis nous a accueillis chaleureusement à la crétoise - huile d'olive et figues confites maison- et nous a rapidement délivrés les renseignements pratiques! Endroit calme à la période de réservation choisie - fin octobre- malgré la présence de la route avec toutes les commodités à deux pas . Mais il faut un véhicule.

Comfortable, good location, great hosts

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Labyrinth. The apartment was clean and comfortable with all the facilities necessary for a pleasant holiday. It is in a good location for a choice of beaches and restaurants and within a kilometre of the small town of Plakias. Fotis and Katerina are excellent hosts.

Cette location était super. Déjà, KATERINA et FOTIS sont des gens charmants, disponible. Toujours une gentillesse. Nous avons apprécié les gâteaux préparés par Katerina, la bonne huile d'olive et le RAKI . Résidence bien placée, proche de PLAKIAS et de la superbe plage de DAMNONI. Le plus de cette résidence est la piscine. Nous reviendrons et recommandons ce lieu. Christiane et Dimitri

Gemütliche Unterkunft, freundliche Eigentümer

Einfache aber saubere Unterkunft, die Ausstattung der Küche ist ebenfalls einfach, aber für 1-2 Personen ausreichend. Die Herdplatten taugen zum kochen, auch wenn man es ihnen zunächst nicht zutraut. Auf seinem Zimmer findet man regelmäßig ein Paar kleine selbstgemachte Leckereien wie Kuchen, Olivenöl oder typisch kretisches eingekochtes Obst. Sofern man rechtzeitig aus dem Zimmer ist Vormittags, wird sogar das Bett frisch bezogen. Der Pool war sauber und auch Anfang April schon offen. Besonders erwähnenswert ist das Besitzerehepaar, Fotis und Katerina. Sie sind fast täglich ein Paar Stunden vor Ort und stets hilfsbereit, egal ob man ein Problem hat oder nur einen Tip braucht, was man in der Umgebung unternehmen kann. Im Notfall sind sie auch per Handy erreichbar. Die beiden sind wirklich ausgesprochen nett. Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt war für mich das Bett, welches doch schon recht durchgelegen war. Habe da aber auch schon schlimmeres erlebt.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft nahe Plakias

Wir haben 2 tolle Urlaubswochen bei bestem, sonnigem Wetter in dieser schönen Pension im Oktober verbracht. Schon zur Begrüßung gab es ein Tablett mit Olivenöl, Raki, Oliven, Tee und Kaffee. Zwischendurch standen köstliche Küchenstücke oder Honig mit Weintrauben und Mandeln auf dem Tisch. Das Zimmer war gemütlich, mit Kochnische und großem Balkon. Einzig die Dusche ist etwas klein. Die Handtücher wurden Ca alle 3 Tage gewechselt. Die Vermieter, Katherina und Fotis, sind sehr freundlich. Hinter dem Haus sind Olivenbäume, davor ein Pool. Die Straße ist in Hausnähe, war aber kein Problem. Die beiden kleinen Katzen haben uns abends immer begrüßt. Plakias mit Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants ist ganz in der Nähe. Der nächstgelegene Strand mit schönen Restaurants am Meer ist nah gelegen. Es gibt 1 Bushaltestelle, aber es empfiehlt sich 1 Mietwagen, um die Gegend zu erkunden. Kreta hat uns auch nach 25 Jahren wieder begeistert. Wir überlegen, in 1/2 Jahr wiederzukommen und werden dann wieder das Lanyrinth-Studio buchen. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist unschlagbar. nowhere better

We have never experienced such a wonderful trip. The place itself ( studio and swimming-pool) is spotless,and peaceful. It is pefectly situated in the region full of magnificient places and beaches. The village of Plakias is welcoming and many places offer excellent food and local atmosphere, in particular the Gefira Taverna .When you add the outstanding service offered by Fotis and Katerina who will give you the best always with discretion and speed, they really are anxious to satisfy every detail of your staying and give you more than expected we had a pleasant surprise everyday like a tasty home made cake for instance and always smiling they made us fall in love with Creta!We wish we could stay another fortnight!

Résidence agréable à recommander

Nous avons séjourné du 6 au 18 octobre 2014 à Labyrinth studios, situé sur la route principale à environ 5 min de la ville de Plakias, pour visiter le sud ouest de cette île. Echange très agréable avec les propriétaires même si nous parlons très peu l’anglais. Studio très sympa, calme, propre, bien équipé avec belle terrasse pour petit déjeuner donnant sur les oliviers, changement régulier des serviettes et linge de lit. L'internet fonctionne correctement. A disposition sur plateau, sel, poivre, miel, huile d’olive, café, thé, sucre et bien entendu raki et tous les jours une petite patisserie locale. Très apprécié aussi la carafe d’eau au réfrigérateur pour l’arrivée. Tous commerces à proximité pour les courses. Nous n'avons pas été génés par le vent, et si problème de gros galets sont disponibles pour caller les portes et volets. Piscine très agréable mais vu la météo, nous nous sommes baignés en mer tous les jours, de magnifiques plages à proximité. Un véhicule est fortement recommandé pour découvrir cette région restée authentique, contrairement au nord-est ou nous avons terminé notre séjour.

2 weeks stay August 2012

We stayed in Plakias for 2 weeks and rented a studio at Labyrinths. First of all, the south part of Crete is way wilder and has so many beautiful landscapes, olive trees surrounding you everywhere and clear cristal blue beaches. The apartment was really clean, perfect for us as a couple, with a great balcony which offered us a wonderful view on the pool and mountains! It is a little further away from Plakias but this really worths it and you can easily join the town and Damnoni great beach by feet. But most important, the great owners Fotis and Katerina who are truly welcoming you with kindness and smile! We had great conversations and time with them and you'll be sure to feel like you're home at Labyrinth Studios... Great journey! Efxalisto! Igor & Pauline

Gute Unterkunft - schoene Gegend - toller Urlaub

Mein Studio entsprach genau den Beschreibungen, war schoen eingerichtet, zweckmaessig, ruhig und sauber, kurz gesagt zum Wohlfuehlen. Jeden Tag fand ich eine kleine kulinarische Kostprobe als Ueberraschung im Zimmer vor, mal Oliven, mal von der Vermieterin selbstgebackenen Kuchen, mal Pastete... Das Vermieter-Ehepaar war ueberhaupt sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Es gab sogar Zimmerservice, was ich garnicht erwartet hatte, denn der Preis war im September sehr guenstig. Die Gegend um Plakias ist wirklich landschaftlich sehr schoen, es gibt mehrere wunderbare Straende mit kristallklarem Wasser. Einziger Nachteil: Wer nicht gerne zu Fuss unterwegs ist, braucht einen Mietwagen, denn die meisten Straende und das Zentrum von Plakias ist einige km weit entfernt (nur deswegen nicht 5 Sterne fuer die Wohnung). Ich wuerde jederzeit wiederkommen.

Ein rundum perfektes Angebot

Wir haben hier unseren Urlaub im Oktober verbracht und hatten immerhin zeitweise noch 30 Grad im Schatten, was durch den immer angenehm wehenden Wind jedoch gar nicht so aufgefallen ist. Die Studios sind vor allem für Leute zu empfehlen, die es gern ruhig mögen und gut zu Fuß unterwegs sind - andernfalls ist ein Mietauto empfehlenswert. Bis zur nächsten Einkaufsmöglichkeit und zum Strand von Plakias sind es etwa 15-20 Minuten Fußmarsch. Eine schöne verlassene Bucht findet man zwischen Plakias und Souda, bis dahin geht man etwa 40 Minuten. Überhaupt lädt die Gegend zum Wandern ein, von den Bergen (insbesondere auf dem Weg von Plakias nach Kalypso) kann man eine wunderbare Aussicht genießen. Nun aber zu den Studios selbst: Die beiden Vermieter sind absolut freundlich und immer dazu bereit, hilfreiche Tips zu geben was Tavernen, Strände, Wanderrouten, Sehenswürdigkeiten, Einkäufe, Rezepte usw betrifft. So sind wir auch auf die Taverna Myrthios in Myrthios gekommen, wo man hervorragend Essen kann und das für einen sehr guten Preis. Tagsüber ist auch immer mindestens einer der beiden Vermieter anzutreffen, da sie sich täglich um die Säuberung des Pools und der Studios kümmern, Handtuch- und Bettwäschewechsel erfolgt alle 3 Tage. Wenn man von seinen Ausflügen zurückkommt findet man also immer ein frisch geputztes Studio vor, und zusätzlich kleine Aufmerksamkeiten wie Oliven aus dem eigenen Garten, Raki und Greek Delight. Allgemein herrscht eine sehr persönliche und herzliche Athmosphäre, man kann sich durchaus abends im Rezeptionsbereich mit den Vermietern zusammensetzen und sich bei etwas Raki ausgiebig unterhalten - ihr Englisch ist hervorragend! Alles in allem war es ein wunderbar erholsamer Urlaub!

Stay at Plakias

We were made very welcome ,even tho we arrived at 1am.The owner and his delightful wife were very helpful,and provided extra pillows .We found a car to be very useful. The appartment was clean and comfortable,and as described .We would be very happy to recommend this place to friends and family.There is plenty of choice re tavarnas ,and we found the Cretons ,both friendly and helpful
