The Sussex Renovated Cottage Glenelg Beach

  • Enter direct from Sussex Street, with car parking right by your front door. Our place is located in central Glenelg, meters from Jetty Road and a 2 minute walk from the beach and tram. Abundance of restaurants, cafes and supermarket on the doorstep, and amazing family-friendly playground at the end of the street. With a fantastic location, our place is good for couples, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups which can be accommodated across adjacent properties.

    Heritage villa renovated with modern conveniences; open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area with high ceilings, ducted air conditioning, full modern kitchen and bathroom with shower. Polished floors, and big hotel quality beds and bed linen.

    Guests have private use of the property, and there is 1 car park located adjacent to the front door; access to the property and parking is from Sussex Street.

    Any questions, or if you need anything during your stay, we are always just a phone call away.

    The property is located in the heart of Glenelg on Sussex Street, where you can park your car and walk to everything you will need during your stay. Sussex Street is predominately a residential street. Glenelg can get very busy during the summer months, so there can be some noise with pedestrians, mainly on Friday and Saturday nights, walking back to their cars/homes at closing time. Part of the charm of staying in the thick of it, but not nearly as noisy as some accommodation in Glenelg, such as those located on Colley Terrace or the Esplanade.

    Everything you need is within easy walking distance. If you do need to travel outside of Glenelg, the tram runs down the main street (Jetty Road) very close to the property, and travels directly into the City in 20mins. Buses are also easily accessible from a number of bus stops in the area. If you have a car, there is 1 off street car park for your convenience.

    A single fold out bed can be supplied for 1 additional guest (ideally suited for a child)
    - By booking with us, you agree to the following: *Following confirmation of your booking via Airbnb, we will email you a Booking Form with all the booking details and property address. Prior to arrival, please advise us of your expected arrival time via email or by phone on our office number (please see the Booking Form). To arrange check-in, on your day of arrival please telephone the office number on your Booking Form to arrange key collection. *Properties with keys:* Each property comes with 2 sets of keys and, if applicable, a remote for parking access. You agree to notify us immediately if you find there are not at least 2 sets of keys and, if applicable, a parking remote. In the event, you return the property to us without the above, you agree to pay $250 to cover key / parking remote replacement. *Check-in time*: Check-in is from 3pm. Please note: we make every effort to ensure properties are prepared for check-in by 3pm. However, on occasion exiting tenants fail to comply with the requirement to check-out by 10am. Where this occurs, as a matter of practical reality we may need to delay the check-in time to properly prepare the property after the late check-out. *After Hours check-in*: Our phones are turned off after 9pm. If you think you may be arriving after 9pm, you must notify us of this in advance so we can make arrangements to be available after hours. Unless you have arranged for a late check-in, we will not be responsible if you have difficulties checking in after 9pm. *Check-out time*: Strictly by 10am on the day of check-out (this is the date listed on your Booking Form). Charges for late check-out apply. *After Hours Availability*: Our office operates from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday. In addition, we are contactable for emergencies and check-ins on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 9am to 9pm and on weekdays from 6pm to 9pm. *Luggage*: As we do not have a physical reception, we are not able to store luggage for you prior to your check-in time or after check-out. *Email correspondence*: If you have provided an email address as part of booking a property, you are deemed to have received any email sent by us to that address. Sending an email to that address is deemed proper notice by us. *Parking*: Each property has 1 car park ideal for a small-medium sized vehicle. Please let us know if you have a large vehicle at the time of booking. *Cleaning*: The listed price does not include servicing/cleaning during the stay. We can arrange servicing and fresh linen during the stay at a cost to guests of $130 per clean. *Damage*: You authorise us to recover from you any loss we incur as a consequence of damage caused by you or your guests to the property or the furnishings in it. If you have provided credit card details to us, you authorise us to deduct up to $1,000 from your credit card for this purpose. *Parties*: Guests are ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED FROM HOLDING ANY TYPE OF PARTY, OR GATHERING, IN THE PROPERTY, EVEN A SMALL PARTY OR GATHERING is not permitted. If you are in doubt, please speak to use prior to making a booking. You agree that, if you hold any type of party or gathering in the property: (1) you will immediately be evicted from the property without any entitlement to any refund of any amount paid in respect of your accommodation, including for any period after the date of your eviction; (2) you authorise us to immediately deduct up to $1,000 from any credit card the details of which you have provided to us for the purposes of deducting any other amount in respect of your accommodation; (3) you will not take any steps to challenge the deduction referred to in number (2) above via the issuer of the card. *Consideration of other tenants*: In consideration of other tenants, you must not make excessive noise in the property or public areas. *Utilities*: Utilities are included in the rental rate. However, you must ensure that all lights, air-conditioners and heaters are turned off when you are not in the apartment. A fair use policy of 21kwh per day applies to electricity; this is ample for day to day usage, however, it may be exceeded if electrical devices are left on when the property is empty, or if appliances are not used efficiently e.g. air conditioners on while windows or doors are left open. *Internet access*: There is free WIFI in The Angas, and Internet is by arrangement prior to check-in for The Wright. Limits apply, so please ensure you disable automatic downloads for Windows, Microsoft, etc. Do not leave the internet connected while you are not using your computer. Be careful - If you have ever previously used your computer to download movies via a Bit Torrent program, the program may activate while you are connected to the internet (even if you are not aware that it is active) allowing others to download from your computer. This could cause you to exceed the download limits. If, for any reason, we are unable to supply Internet, e.g. for a technical reason to do with the provider who supplies Internet to us, or due to a fault with our equipment, we will do everything we can to provide you with Internet access as quickly as we can. However, will not be liable for any loss you incur as a consequence of not being connected. You will not be entitled to any refund of your booking fee as a consequence of not having Internet during your stay. *Property becomes not available*: In the very unlikely event a property you have booked becomes unavailable (due to an unforeseeable event damaging the property, e.g. the carpets need to be replaced due to water damage etc.), we will take every step to provide you with another property of at least the same standard. We will not be liable if a property becomes unavailable for some reason, or if we are not able to provide a suitable alternative. You accept that there could be an unforeseeable event out of our control that may make a property unavailable. *Cleaning*: You must leave the apartment in a clean and tidy condition. Failure to do so may result in an additional cleaning fee. *Smoking*: Smoking is not permitted in the property. If you smoke in the property, you authorise us to deduct from your credit card or otherwise recover from you, $75 to apply towards having the furnishings deodorised. *Access*: You agree that, although unlikely, we may need to access the apartment from time to time and this may be necessary during your stay, e.g. to attend to repairs (if necessary). You agree that we may provide your mobile telephone number so that a tradesperson needing to access the apartment can arrange access with you directly. *Repairs, state of apartment etc*: We will endeavour to ensure that all appliances etc. in the property are working properly, there is not damage to the property and that the property is clean at check-in. If you notify us of a faulty appliance or that the property is not clean at check-in, we will take all reasonable steps to have the fault corrected as soon as possible. Where you notify us after hours, we will endeavour to have the fault corrected as soon as possible on the recommencement of business hours. The existence of a faulty appliance or another issue with the property will not entitle you to any discount on the booking fee. *Acts of god*: If the property is made unavailable as a consequence of an act of god, eg, a flood, you will not be entitled to a refund of your booking fee. You should ensure you are covered for this by your travel insurance. *Don’t leave valuables in the property*: Please don’t leave valuables in the property and please ensure the property is secured at all times. Our insurance only covers the house contents of the property, and does not cover your personal items. Our insurance is only valid in the case of a break and enter; therefore, if you leave the property unsecured and theft occurs, you will be liable for the replacement value of any items stolen. Excellent Stay close to everything!

Great property, well maintained & clean. Close to transport & shops, everything within walking distance. Hosts were excellent and very helpful with any queries.

Fabulous spot

Lovely place, location awesome, only criticism, would have been nice to have some tea bags and shower gel. Inexpensive items, and yes you can buy them close by, but irs nice to have a cuppa when you step in the door from a journey

Cosy traditional home. Roomy enough for 4 adults. Neat, tidy, convenient localtion to restaurants, beach, public transport to cbd. Air-conditioned (yay). Car park and great communication with owner ❤️

Excellent location and everything was awesome

Excellent however the king bed needs to be replaced as two singles are not good at all....maybe a quick check on vacuum as I couldn't use it. And I do my own at home frequently....it was over full....im not having a holiday to clean a vacuum haha......

No towel change in 7 days. No washing powder for wash machine. Only 3 tabs for dish washer. Front door handle broken.

Perfect

We loved this place, the location was perfect. Very close to everything. There’s a lovely coffee shop right across the road, a fantastic massage place next door. There’s plenty of room, comfortable beds and a lovey big kitchen and lounge room.

Great accommodation and location

Perfect location for us who love the beach. Perfect for those who like to eat out or even cook at home with Coles virtually around the corner. We easily managed to park our large Prado 4x4 in the driveway with no issues. Property management were awesome!!! Id stay in the same property in a heartbeat!!! Loved it.

Perfect property for our family during Swimming Nationals

We stayed at The Sussex for a week while our son competed in the Swimming Nationals. The location was not far from the pool and so close to great coffee shops and restaurants. We loved Glenelg - such a beautiful location which we were able to enjoy and explore while staying at The Sussex. The accommodation was great, clean and everything we needed. Highly recommended!
