i called the property to confirm my booking and the voice message stated that they where closed dur to Covid and i lost my money.. No one bothered to confirm anything and i am very annoyed

I liked the offer to stay in the common room and kitchen after I had checked out. There was a severe heatwave at the time. I was grateful for this. Also, I found the accommodation clean although basic with aircon and TV, free WiFi and the bed was comfortable. New pillows would be good.

A lovely place to stay
Guesthouse Hostel is remarkably a very good hostel and commendable to all travelers who are need a low cost accommodation but will meet their needs. All the staff are very accommodating, helpful and efficient. the site is within walking distance to points of interest. The hostel creates an atmosphere of family and community. There is a free dinners, Chile con carne Monday night and Pizza Weds. What a place. Highly recommended

Having just travelled through South America I was looking forward to an Australian quality hostel. I booked a private room which is separate to the main building. It was so bad that I cancelled my remaining two nights stay. Firstly there was no towel in the room & the bed wasn’t made. Apparently towels are ‘for hire’ so I had to cross the four lane busy road back to the main hostel to get one. Secondly, the electronic security key would not work when I got back late at night (11pm). Again, I had to walk across the four lane busy road, in the rain, and phone the after hours emergency numbers to get a new room key programmed. This ordeal took about an hour. Thirdly, there was no hot water the next morning in any of the showers. Again, I was asked to cross the busy four lane road and use the showers in the backpackers. I could see that the hot water service may not be repaired quickly and if had enough of these third world standards so I asked for my money back and checked out. The angry British girl in the front desk tried to refuse a full refund saying it was ‘against policy’. I told her it wasn’t a cancelation due to change of mind, it was due to dissatisfaction. She was unbelievably rude and hostile and reluctantly refunded some (not all) of my subsequent prepaid nights. I’ve travelled to all corners of the globe - from Kampala in Uganda to San Pedro Chile In the Atacama Desert. This is the worst hostel I’ve stayed in.

If you don't mind feeling like sleeping in a prison cell, this place is for you. Run down rooms, bad stench throughout Guesthouse and room, uncomfortable bed and pillows with stains, jail cell bars on the windows and stuck window shutter. Windows stuck open so we were stuck hearing the traffic of a Saturday night. No peaceful sleep eventhough The Guesthouse is supposed to be the peaceful accommodation. Complaied at front desk after we checked in and was promised a call and that something would be done about the stuck window, but it was ignored. Not a good stay at all. Bad stench, sleep and the discomfort from beds and pillows didnt make this a good overnight experience in Adelaide. Thank goodness hadnt booked more than one night. Wont be staying here again.

We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. We pride ourselves on cleanliness and friendliness and am sorry your room had a 'bad stench' even with the window 'stuck' open. We clean the hostel thoroughly everyday. We also take security seriously which is why we have security bars on the downstairs windows. Being centrally located in the city it is hard to control the noise on a Saturday night. Good luck for the rest of your travels, The Guest House

Very basic room and not a quiet night
Very basic rooms, you get what you pay for I guess - however, tidy and clean. Struggled to sleep as it was quite loud - the hotel is right next to a busy street with trucks and ambulances, and my room was unlucky being next to the entrance to the hostel with some loud heavy door, and behind the kitchen. Breakfast is very basic toast and cereal (not even milk...)

백팩오즈에서 체크인하고 가는겁니다. 동일한데서 운영하는데 게스트하우스가 백팩오즈보다 사람 적고 시설이 더 깔끔함. 일단 자정넘어서도 내내 시끄럽긴한데 백팩오즈보단 덜함. 그냥저냥 인사하고 들어가서 자기시간 보내기는 괜찮은 곳. 화장실에 샤워실 겸하고 각각 층마다 있고 변기3개 샤워실3개가 한 층임. 슬리퍼는 주변 마트에서 걍 대충사세요 3-4달러면 삼 현지마켓에서 안팔면 차이나타운 개가까운데 거기가시면 엄청많이팔고 일단 차이나타운이 먹을것도 많고 영업자체를 늦게까지해서 자주가게됨 단점은 딱히 없고 장점도 딱히 없음. 그냥 가격이 최대장점인데 돈값에 비춰보면 주변 호스텔중에서도 최고라고봄

Basic room, great location, awesome staff.
This is my second time staying at the Guest House. It's simply, centrally located hospitality with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Both times I've arrived from Melbourne slightly after the 10 p.m. office curfew and both times someone has stuck around to help me out. The free bikes out front are a huge bonus!

Comfy, convenient and cheap
Basic but had everything we needed. Use of full kitchen was great and saved money to be able to prepare some of our own meals. Having to share the bathroom was not a problem as it was cleaned thoroughly daily. Excellent location - walking distance to everything we wanted

Good location
Well, it's a good place. However, my room is close to the street, kitchen and bathroom, not easy for me to sleep. Check-in begins after 2pm, so if arriving early, please arrange your day trip.

Bit of a compromise but did cost less.
ok place if out are on a tight budget and don't mind sharing bathroom and kitchen facilities with complete strangers. Overall though, it wasn't too bad and did save on costs, so it's nice knowing there are other options like this out there, when the price of standard hotel /motel rooms can add up so quickly over time.

Entre deux séjours ils ont gardé nos valises et les ont même transportées dans notre nouvelle chambre. On a été dépanné en 5min quand notre clé ne marchait plus à 23h !

We stayed two nights (separated by 1 night). The first one was awfull because we were given THE bad room : near the door and with a window on the main street. It was very difficult to get some sleep. When we checked out, we said it and asked them if they cold get us another day for the second night, two nights later. When we checked in again we had another room and this one was just GREAT. Of course its a backpacker hoster, so don not expect a 5 star hotel, but everything is OK. The staff is EXTREMELLY helpfull and nice.

Fantastic staff working at the reception and bar! Owner is awesome! Convenient location. Clean kitchen. Toilets and showers were at all time clean too. Aircon worked well. Nice room (sink also in the room which is a big plus). Lots of hair on sheets when we arrived but sheets were changed/cleaned after reporting it to the staff. Room could have been overall a bit cleaner. Would definetely stay here again without hesitation.

Within walking distance of the city centre very clean rooms & facilities and friendly staff as well and wifi in the common room although you can access Adelaide free wifi if you are staying in the guesthouse

C'est une solution relativement économique pour qui cherche à se loger sur Adelaide. Le Guesthouse est préférable à l'auberge gérée par la même équipe si on recherche le calme. A noter que les parties communes sont mixtes mais relativement propres selon les occupants.

Central and cheap but road's noisy
The check in was efficient and my room fine. Kitchen facilities are good. Not a great deal of atmosphere. Bathroom facilities OK - not the best, but OK for the price. The hostel's right on Wakefield Street which is quite noisy at night with traffic and fire engines.

Disappointing really, was promoted as a Guesthouse with Continental breakfast etc, was not expecting the Hilton but certainly was not expecting a Backpackers!!!

At the booking they said we have our own bathroom but it was just a sink. The guest house is within 10 mins walking to the centre. Good cleaning, and nice sharing facilities (courtyard, kitchen,...).

Good location, great to have breakfast free, good quality for the price. Walls are a bit thin, and I would like cleaning staff to make sure that reminants (eg head hair) from previous occupants are gone from fitted sheets. Otherwise good place

Great place for the price, no wifi as advertised
Everything was great with the exception that the guesthouse is run by a backpackers down the road, which has wifi, unlike the guesthouse as advertised.
