Hi Nicola, you booked a non-refundable (cheaper rate) through an Expedia partner and was charged by them. They, then pay us, about 10 days after check in date. You never requested them to cancel and we can't cancel reservations from third parties. You did not pay for breakfast for two rooms. Breakfast was requested by you as an extra and you paid for one room only, the exact, then charged for the wine consumed during your stay. Teresa, as a mother herself, was being empathetic with the passing of your friend's son and unfortunately you understood differently. We are sorry for her lost.

Hi, Thank you for your review and happy you enjoyed the wines and your stay. We use the highest flow (and most expensive) rain shower heads legally available in Australia in our showers. Moreover, we use dual variable speed pumps to ensure water flow and pressure are maintained at a constant high rate regardless of any other water usage. This is the first time anybody ever complained about the rain showers. Many guests have expressed they really enjoy them. Anyways, glad to hear your overall experience was pleasant.

Hi DB, Thank you for your review and suggestion. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Food safety is very challenging for a small property as the purchases are very small and to keep things fresh, we almost need to shop every other day. The more you handle food, the greater the risk. We repacked in smaller containers everything we could to ensure access to the items but also ensure food safety. Milk is local, fruit is as local as possible, most times jam comes from our property (we make it from our fruit trees) but from our past experience guest would not eat, for instance, yogurt placed in generic containers and not sealed. We spent long hours weighting bigger containers against smaller container (e.g. yogurt and orange juice) and the big containers weren't not an improvement in the attempt to reduce waste. We recycle everything from the room, including the coffee pods and wine bottles. We invested heavily in a system to have delicious and safe water from the tap and we also provide sparking water to all guests with no charge in the attempt to avoid anybody bringing plastic bottles into the property. We will keep researching and trying to improve and reduce our waste.

Dear Jethro, Yes, we have zero tolerance for guests that do not respect that this is a smoke free property in a high bush fire risk zone. We also have zero tolerance for guest that sneak multiple visitors during the night, after being warned not do so. Our hotel is not a party house.

Hi Christine, Thank you for your review. South Australia has experienced extreme heatwaves during January 2019, including the hottest day ever recorded in a capital city. All the air conditioning seems to be coping well with these extremes. You are the first guest to complain about it. The only way to optimise the air conditioning on these extreme days is by closing the northerly facing blackout blind, which you seem not to have chosen to do because you understandably wanted to appreciate the beautiful views of the vineyard. Also, the air conditioning shuts down if you leave sliding doors to the private deck in your rooms open. In our experience, very few hotels offer free items from their mini bar. We chose to be different and offer free items because we know many of our travellers come from overseas or other states and love to enjoy a glass of Inkwell wines and a free snack before going out for dinner. In your room, you had 8 different wines grown and made at Inkwell (including white, extended skin contact white, bubbly, rose and reds). The wines offered in your room are offered at a discount for hotel guests and are made from at least 6 different grape varieties. I'm not sure how to be more local or accomodating we can be than this. Regarding food, we do not have a restaurant or cooking facilities and this is clearly stated in our hotel description. We support local businesses and amazing restaurants that are only 5 minutes drive from the property. Most guests enjoy these places around us. In our continental breakfast, we offer two options of coffee, tea, orange juice, bread, two types of cheese, butter, peanut butter, homemade jam, honey, muesli, cereal and at least three fresh, seasonal choices of fruit (usually avocado, peaches , apple and banana). Finally, we offer complimentary triple filtered still and sparkling water.
