"At first a rather unassuming place along a very busy A1 main road, by a petrol station.
Yet, once installed after a swift checkin with a very friendly member of staff, the view on the Northumberland countryside from the bedroom is nice and soothing, and the noise of traffic is absent.
There are two options for a dinner, a café and a restaurant. The restaurant is the best for value.
Quite a find. And did I mention the nice and helpful staff?"

"Nice welcoming staff. Good breakfast, promptly served.
But the hotel is very run down and needs to be cleaned more carefully. Not the place to be in hot weather. My window barely opened and the bathroom radiator was full on - and impossible to turn off. No fan available either!"

"Wonderful guest house in great location overlooking the beach. Free parking in front of the guest house and opposite the coop. Great room and delicious freshly cooked breakfast. Couldn’t believe we saw seals in the harbour and a great place for scuba diving."

"Very disappointing. The room, which was not cheap, was suffocatingly hot and had no windows. There was a cheap portable air conditioning unit, propped up on a chair which did not work and the shower was not usable as it was scalding hot on every setting. The manager was unhelpful and dismissive."

"Room was clean with facilities that were a bit dated, the staff were excellent and very helpful . Plenty of parking within the square in front of the pub. Excellent cooked breakfast if that’s what you start the day with. Enjoyable stay."

"Had a 2 night stay. Booked this property as it had an elevator and travelling with an elderly parent with reduced mobility. On arrival late in the evening we learned that both elevators were out of order. We were on the 3rd floor with no other suitable rooms available. With assistance from staff and another guest we made it to the room. We were able to switch to a lower room the next morning. All staff were very apologetic and went out of their way to help us make the stay positive...
