"We booked Nags Hotel as we needed somewhere close to the Racecourse. It is a nice quiet hotel. The room was small but for the price was great for 1 night. When we came down for dinner the restaurant and pub was packed out. We went out to see what was close by but they were all takeaway places. We eventually found a small table back at the Pub. "good central location in Belmont, unfortunately the bistro was under renovation when I was there, so I had to eat out which wasn't a problem as there was heaps of choice within easy walking distance "

"Far too many long-term residents and they are very chummy with the staff. Up yelling and screaming in the common room, calling indoors without meaningful comments from staff. I felt like we were guests in THEIR house. No secure storage in the dorms. Eva at the front desk was great with local suggestions."

"T who runs the place is the most helpful knowledgeable person you'll come across. Makes you feel so welcome, nothing is a problem. Great facilities, it's like a house, as in it's got all you might need. I have had a most enjoyable stay. I wish them some busyness because they deserve it. Just not when I come back to stay (from Christchurch) lol. All the best, if I'm ever in the area I'm staying here again! "

"Retro style little motel. Easy check in, as we arrived late at night and the room was set up for us to just walk in and collapse. Clean facilities. Within very short drive of a fab cafe - onyx - where we went for a pretty awesome brekky the next day."
