The place was clean and cozy. However there was a family staying upstairs with young children who ran around from 6:30 am until 10 pm off and on. Unfortunately it sounded like a herd of elephants when they did run.

Great little place
Stayed here for 4 days. Exactly as described. Within walking distance to just about every historic venue you could wish for. Only took an Uber twice and walked the rest of the time (wear appropriate shoes!). Host has been great and they even messaged us to let us know that we could check in early if we wanted. Would definitely stay again!

Awesome Row Home in Great DC Neighborhood
The apartment was "cozy", but was all we needed. We were 1/2 mile from a Whole Foods, and walked the neighborhood several times. Walked to an awesome restaurant 2/10 mile away. We were amazed at how safe it was, lots of dog walkers, and friendly folks. There was a patio, which was private, and much appreciated for morning coffee and an evening glass of wine. The owner was wonderful to work with, helpful, and very responsive, before and during. He even stopped by to see how we were doing! A free parking pass was provided, which was a must for us. That said, we uber'ed our trips downtown to museums, monuments, etc. The uber always arrived within 5 minutes. We would stay there again if were back in DC. Recommend it heartily!

Great place in perfect location
This apartment is really nice - it’s a first floor unit in the back of a building (with a small outdoor deck). It is immaculately clean. It is furnished nicely. The location is ideal - quiet and residential but convenient to the National Mall, Union Station, etc. Excellent communication from the renter. The parking pass is also a really nice perk.

Property was very convenient to all great DC activities. Air conditioning was wonderful. Bed was very comfortable. A few extra bath towels upon arrival would be great (without having to ask for them) given the warm weather. A cute place to stay!

Pros - Cons- Tip
Pro's - The location is great .A lot of restaurants nearby. Lots of hot water. Linens provided. Getting the parking permit was easy. Cons - Parking can be a little difficult. Google maps does not take you right there even with the correct suffix. Tip- If you need groceries get them prior to your arrival, once you find a parking spot you will not want to drive. None of the cons would stop me from booking this place again.

It’s Was Great Until it Wasn’t
Pros: When booking, everything seemed the match up and be right. The owner’s response to my questions about parking were somewhat timely. When arriving from union station I was surprised at how close it was to a lot of food places and museums, which was amazing. Towels and linen were provided as well as coffee and tea. Cons: This most definitely isn’t a disability friendly rental. There are two sets of steps to get up to the rental. The top set of step are a little slanted so that definitely doesn’t help. A lot of tight spaces to get in through, the 2 sets of doors with slims openings and the a small hallway to get to rental unit. The front of the kitchen was fine but there are quite a few places that a person can trip especially if they have mobility issues. The barn door to the bathroom falls of the rack quiet easily and isn’t secured. The there patches of the wall missing and a hole in the floor. The bathroom was a decent size but the toilet would have to be flushed by removing the tank lid and pushing the actual button. When the toilet did flush I had to fill the tank with more water from the sink. The shower also had some kind of black dirt/mold around the drain. The last (and biggest issue) I had with the rental was that there were bed bugs and a dirty sock left over from the previous guests. With that I didn’t even stay the entire duration of my reservation. Any contact with the owner after check-in was always late and subpar.

Property is def walkable to the Capitol, but it has a flight of stairs and is an older building. The Apartment needs a good cleaning around floors and baseboards and a new paint job. It was ok for the price but some improvements could make it a nice little cute place to stay. Wifi was really strong which was great for working late.

Location was within walking distance of the Capitol and National Gallery. As the building is 140 years old, the walls are very thin and allow you to hear your neighbor's TV and conversations, as well as their footsteps on the floor above. Fortunately, all was quiet by 10pm. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for four days and everything was perfect. So close to the museums, Capitol building and White House. Used the Capitol Bike share to get around and loved every minute. Property Manager was extremely responsive. Highly recommend this lovely space.

Perfect location
The house is a short 15 min walk to Union station and the circulator bus. There is a small market 5 mins away (Capital Hill Supermarket). Good for simple necessities and deli sandwiches made to order. The apartment is as described. Good for a couple. Or friends who like each other a lot. The owners we very responsive. The neighborhood was very nice and we felt beyond comfortable. This is a must stay if you are planning to see the capital, White House and museums.

Very clean. There is a small but functional kitchen for a short stay, a shower with good water pressure, a comfortable king size bed and a deck out back for al fresco meals. Grocery is a 12 min walk down the street. Bikes for rent on the corner. Metro is a bit of a hike but the neighborhood is great, quiet for the city. Street Parking was available out front

Just the space I needed in DC
Fun, quirky place to stay in an older building. Good for 1 or 2 people. Great location, clean and comfy. Note that the fridge is hotel-sized and stove = 2 burners. So if you plan to cook a holiday dinner (which I did not, but I have done in other VRBOs!), you might need a different place. Grocery delivery from the nearby Whole Foods available. Overall, I recommend it.

Sweet and cozy nest
Quirky, like old houses are, and cozy nest located in a great spot on Cap Hill. Easy access to multiple modes of transit to get me wherever I needed to go in the city. Great tub for soaking, tea in the cupboard, plenty of places to charge all the devices before the days adventures. Also, terrific response from Eric whenever I had questions. Plan to come back with the spouse!

We loved our stay. We were only a safe 1.1 mile walk from the Capitol (it took us 3 days to figure out it was easier to walk than take public transit. The walk was pleasant and went through a cute area of D.C.) great restaurants within walking distance and we had everything we needed. We plan to book again in the winter or spring.

Rediscovering DC in historic Capital Hill
I lived on the Hill back on the day and was delighted with this stay to revisit my experience. The small spot is classic Capital Hill! SAFETY WARNING
Everything about my guest stay was amazing, except these major concerns. This stay is not family friendly. My guest/friend and I found firearm paraphernalia in our unit. I took pictures and notified the host, even provided my number and no one has got back to me. This alone makes an amazing stay worthless. I just can't believe the host has not reached back out to even inquire about the situation. The sink in the kitchenette does not work and there was hair in the tub, which makes me question whether the unit was cleaned throughly.

We do not believe this guest. This guest was trying to get out of paying for her stay and her communication didn’t make sense. We occasionally get guests who try to get out of paying and make up issues to get out of paying. This apartment is where my 80 year old mother stays. Shame on guests like this.

This one’s just right
Spent a weekend enjoying the beautiful Capitol Hill neighborhood and had a delightful little pad to come home to and wait out the rain. It’s perfect for one (or two very intimate). Great little outdoor seating with birds singing and squirrels playing. Short walk to many parks and restaurants. Easy access to transit. BIG luxury mattress made me never want to get out of bed. TV with streaming services included. Strong WiFi. A large claw-foot tub in a vintage/quirky bathroom that felt decadent. Spending time in a 120 year old space where you can be a part of the historic energy? Priceless. I will say that when there are people upstairs the floors (my ceiling) creak pretty loudly. It was never too intrusive. I’d have to reach to find anything that wasn’t simply wonderful about my stay. Highly recommend.

great location for getting around DC
my husband and I were very excited to be returning to this property although in a different smaller unit for just the two of us. In this past spring, there were four us and the accommodations were excellent in the larger unit. We were able to walk to restaurants, whole foods and union station. While the location and neighborhood are still absolutely charming we were disappointed in two things. Standing in the tub to take a shower with no tub mat was a bit unstable and my husband only used it once. we messaged jason and eric,who were very responsive last spring, to provide a tub mat and also another roll of toilet paper but heard nothing back. the kitchenette was adequate and the king bed was very comfortable. it would have been nice to be able to adjust the heating. we really like the parking pass

Their photos are deceiving. Radiators, baseboards, and some walls need serious cleaning or repairs. The thermostat is preset, the windows do not open. The back porch and yard including barbecue are not kept in usable condition. Gaps between floor and wall are visible and stuffed with wire mesh. The front walk and entry area was not swept or clean for the five nights we were there. The owners are not readily available nor hospitable.

Cute little place. Great location. Recommendations for improved rating: Flexibility in meeting needs of guests check out requests based on flights. Considerate reduction of noise from apartment above needed - vacuuming and moving furniture and guests coming and going at all times made for a really noisy stay. Audit the "supposed cleaning service" (I think you attempt to clean it yourself) before client checks in as there was old coffee and grounds in the coffee pot and used bandaids in the bottom of the bathroom garbage when I arrived. Also, provide more towels in bathroom. In addition, people usually do not travel with laundry soap ..you say guests can use the washer and dryer but do not provide soap or for purchase. Lastly, I was offended that the payment plan was not honored by you. The agreement said I had until the 25th to pay balance off after initial deposit but you sent me at least 2 to 3 messages asking me for the balance in advance of that date. I paid it on the 21st though I had until the 25th per the VRBO agreement. I was okay with it until when I asked you if I could check out an hour to 3 hours late due to my flight time and you said no. It does not take more than an hour TOPS to clean that place. You could have been flexible but your weren't. I checked VRBO before I asked you for a later check out and the website showed the apartment available for the following 5 days. So you lied to me about the urgency for me to check out. Uncool. I think you are just trying to make money verses long time renting which I get but you need to work on your customer service and thoughtfulness. It will go a long way.

Super cute - quiet neighborhood - awesome experience!
Eric and Jason have really done a lot to make this historical space cozy and chic. Their response time to all my questions/needs was super fast and friendly. The bed was very comfy with lots of pillows and the roku tv was really neat - super easy to use. Easy nice walk to union station and the library of congress. Eastern market was really cool and the restaurant options on 8th Street are great and relatively close. This is my first time staying on this side of DC and it was fabulous. Highly recommend.

Amazing week in DC
I just returned from a week's stay at Jason & Eric's apartment. Everything was as represented on the website. It was just myself and my 10 year old son, so it was the perfect size. Great location for seeing all the sites in DC! Everything was a short walk or brief Uber trip away. The apartment has been renovated while keeping as much original historic charm as possible. It is beautiful! There is a huge park at the end of the street! We enjoyed hanging out there every night...meeting the locals...and watching the day turn to night. The owners were very responsive to any questions or needs. I would definitely stay here again!

I had a wonderful stay in this cute one bedroom apartment. It was perfect! I walked the short 10 minutes to and from Union Station since I took the train in from NY. I walked to Capital Hill in about 15 min. There were some great restaurants right down the street and a small supermarket where I bought drinks and breakfast. It was cozy, comfortable and convenient! I would certainly stay here again on my next trip to DC.

Not a very comfortable place and the owners did not honor their word.
I have never left a bad review before but I am this time. The shower faucet leaked and the sound was annoying. The bathroom sink was loose which was annoying. I told them and nothing happened. You can't open a window. There was barely enough room to walk next to the bed except sideways. No dresser to put your clothes in. Good thing I was traveling alone. Two people would not fit in this place. The owners broke their word about late check-out which I asked them about before I made the reservation. I told them I would only stay there if I could check out late. They said yes then denied they said yes but when I offered to forward them the email they apologized and said they found the email. That was a major inconvenience since I made plans that I was forced to break. I would not stay in this apartment again anyway but I might have stayed in one of their other units. Not now.

Wonderful place in great neighborhood
Very comfortable with everything we needed for a great long weekend! Everything exactly like the pictures, no surprises except for the charm of the place. Cute back patio for our morning coffee. Many cafes, restaurants, and a convenience store within a short walking distance. We walked down to the National Mall one day which was a long walk, but doable. Uber rides were easy and quick also. All in all a great place to stay and see the sights!
