I really appreciate your comments about it being very warm and cozy here because we really want people to feel like they are at their home away from home. Even though we have some tasty restaurants here in Valdez, we wanted people who want to try to save some money on meals to be able to by being able to heat up meals with our microwave and toaster oven. We're glad you had fun sightseeing and were able to "come back to rest and recharge." We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay. )

I'm so glad that you enjoyed the variety in breakfast choices and that you enjoyed our clean rooms and our friendly hospitality. I'm very sorry how things went for you while you were staying with us. I wish it wouldn't have happened that way. I was on a scheduled conference call that had about 8 people on it, so I couldn't change to call especially since I had to be doing most of the talking. My mom had assured me that she would be able to check you in just fine if you happened to arrive during the call. The reservation had the room name on the top, and I told her which room, but she later informed me that she didn't hear me. I'm so sorry about that. I have never had the credit card reader be plugged in and it not charge before, so that was a surprise to me too. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I did get it charged so that the very next morning I ran your card; I tried it in the evening you checked in when machine wasn't charged even though it was plugged in. So, the next morning everything went through. I'm sure it could have seemed like a couple of days, but it was just the next morning. I found out that someone had dropped a screw in the door of the dryer, so that is why the door kept popping open. So, now it is fixed. I'm so sorry that it happened to be that the person who did that was there the day before you came, and it took me two days to figure out why it wasn't staying closed. Keep in mind that most B & Bs don't even offer free laundry room use plus free detergent. But now that the problem is fixed, we have that extra benefit for all our guests again.

I'm glad that you liked our hospitality, location, and dining room space. We like to be helpful to all of our guests. I'm not sure what kind of bed you normally sleep in, but our queen and twin beds are standard size, not any shorter than any other bed in a hotel. Our rooms are not any closer than a hotel room would be. We find that people love to come out of their room and get to meet other guests in the dining room area from so many parts of the world. That is part of the fun of staying at a B & B, getting to meet other guests. But other than at breakfast or if you want to enjoy the massage chair in the living room, you can enjoy your privacy in your room completely away from everyone else. Most bed and breakfasts only have one bed in each room, so our rooms are actually bigger than most bed and breakfasts offer since we have both a queen and a twin in the room.

Thank you for your nice comments about my friendliness, the cleanliness of our B & B, and our nice delicious breakfasts. I appreciate your feedback, although it would have been more helpful for you tell me while you were here so that we could have made it more comfortable for you. All of the feedback that we have had in the past about our sheets from other people have all been about how comfortable and silky feeling our sheets are. We have had several people ask us about where they can buy sheets like the ones we use in our B & B. I’m sorry that you were not happy with them, but if you would have told me, we could have easily given you some cotton or flannel sheets for the rest of your stay. We have taken your comment about our shower head seriously, and have made all of our shower heads fully adjustable. We always want our guests to enjoy their stay. Unfortunately, everyone has differing opinions about whether a bed should be soft or hard. We have chosen to have memory foam on the mattress to make it nice and comfy for the majority of people. Most people love how comfortable all of our beds are. But if the bed was too soft for you, we could have taken off the memory foam during your stay if you would have let us know while you were here. Because we allow people to use the kitchen throughout the whole day and not just for breakfast, we have the policy that people need to clean up after themselves in the public areas. I believe that since many people enjoy the option of being able to cook their own meals, at any time, that they don’t mind cleaning up after themselves. But as a trade off, I always put all of the dishes away that people have used even for their dinners. It should be noted that most B&Bs do not have their dishes, or places to make meals, available at other times of the day besides breakfast, but we do, to serve you all.

We're so glad that our accommodation met all of your expectations. We work hard to keep our spacious rooms very nice and clean. Thank you for your comment about us being a very friendly host family. We really like meeting people from all around the world. We're very glad that you thought that the breakfast was very good.
