Nice stay in Ikebukuro
This was a nice stay in a Japanese apartment. It was very clean and had lots of amenities you may need like a hair dryer, ironing board, iron, washing machine, drying rack and so on. The bed was pretty comfy by western standards, though the pillows were a little thin. It's an older apartment, and as such, the walls are very thin. On our first night there, I could hear the next door neighbors arguing for a while with loud voices around 22:00 so I could not sleep. They eventually stopped, and the next night they were much quieter.The stairs to this apartment are very steep, as is traditional for many Japanese homes. So getting larger luggage up the stairs is dangerous, but the host mentioned this in the listing so it was not surprising. Just know it you have extremely heavy luggage, or have trouble with narrow stairs, you should consider that before booking.I marked communication a 4, because there was a week or two where I was awaiting a reply from the host. But once they returned they were very helpful and communicative.
