Watch out for scams on the street, when people seem overly helpful often they have a hidden agenda

Beware of hustlers. It is always a special day in Cairo where they government is giving you half off your purchases. Also, if someone says they want to give you their business card but they don't have any one them, don't go to their business "just around the corner" to get a card. They person you spoke to first will disappear and another one or two will take over showing you things and trying to sell you stuff. Free gifts are not free! Donations - "anything you can give" - means "pay me what I want." If someone hands you something, don't take it because they won't take it back and then they're asking for money. It's very hard, but you have to not speak. The Egyptians are so nice, but you have to beware of those you don't know. Someone is always looking for some money!
