I apologize you were unaware of our pet fee and our policy of not leaving dogs unattended in guest rooms. Sitting by himself in a unfamiliar place that smells like strangers and has unusual noises is disconcerting for even the calmest dog and a barking dog can be very unpleasant for other guests. What’s more, our staff doesn't know your dog and can't go into a room with a nervous, upset animal to attempt to calm him. Ocean Pacific Lodge does offer a list of pet friendly restaurants and ideas for pet friendly activities, but I would encourage a guest with a lot of plans not involving their pet to consider not bringing him along.Thanks again for staying with us.
