The line at the South Entrance by the Real Jardin Botanico is a lot shorter during Free Hours.

You cannot take photos anywhere in the museum- which they don't tell you or put up signs for but will call you out on. Also the waits are really long; I would recommend getting to the museum around 4:30-5:00 to get in the line for free access that starts at 6 pm.
