My room at least, had no functioning air conditioning. Directly across the street is a late night (all night) outdoor food complex with loud live music until 4 am. Every night. If you plan on sleeping, I hope your earplugs work very well. The staff spoke little English, that's OK, it is Thailand after all, but Zphyr Grand is in a High tourist area and by far the majority of people staying there are English speakers so... I stayed one night and moved to a different hotel 2 minutes down the road. Much better experience.
