El camino a la playa es lo más lindo. La habitación estaba bien, pero la cama tenía muchas pulgas, nos mataron a picaduras. No te informan de otras playas cercanas que se puede llegar caminando y después cobran tour para ir a esa playa. En general es un 7 puntos.

Avoid at all costs.
The place is infested with mold. Hard to breathe in the room from all the mold. The staff is great but stay away from this place.

Es justo lo que buscaba, un lugar tranquilo para desconectar de la rutina, lejos del bullicio fiestero nocturno y cerca de una de las mejores playas que he conocido hasta ahora. El camino para llegar a ella me enamoró, es jungla en estado puro, y en 5 minutos o menos aparece el mar. Se come bien, tiene una piscina muy cuidada, que no es lo habitual en este rango de precios, y el personal es muy amable y agradable. Y tienen café expreso!! Hay wifi en todas partes, tanto en las habitaciones como en las zonas comunes, aunque no es de alta velocidad, pero eso es así en toda la isla, según pude comprobar en diferentes lugares de la zona. Me llevo un recuerdo inolvidable de Emily, Evelyn, Ana y, en general, de todos los que hicieron que mi semana de desconexión fuera perfecta. Muchas gracias a todos ellos!!

hotel encantador en plena naturaleza
Nos gustó mucho la idea de hotel, en plena naturaleza, minimalista en su decoración pero cálido y muy acogedor, con cocina por si quieres cocinar tus alimentos, estupendos sitios comunes como la piscina, el bar, zonas de hamacas y distintas actuaciones en la noche que lo hacian muy ameno. La comida muy rica con varios platos vegetarianos cosa que nos agrada mucho, aunque el desayuno nos hubiera gustado que fuera mas variado ya que fuimos 5 noches y alli no hay otro sitio para desayunar. La habitación con baño estupenda, muy comoda con aire acondicionado y ventilador de techo muy practicos.

Loved the TeePee huts in the canopy. Pure relaxation and pristine quiet. Staff was topknotch and always involved with the guests. Worthy of a redo but we will fly into Bocas next time. Driving to Almirante was challenging and lengthy.

Jungle Paradise
I love Selina Red Frog - very beautiful jungle location and great decor. Have stayed here at least 3 times when visiting Panama. Not right on the beach, but the A/C makes it worth it. The service at the restaurant was ridiculously terrible. I do not have words to describe how indifferent, slow and rude our waitress was. But don't let this stop you from staying here. Eat somewhere else.

Since we are on a remote island, water is our most valuable and scarce resource, and during the time of your stay there was a big shortage of supply that prevented us from maintaining the pool, as we had to save the little water we have for the use of the guests. We always try our best to deliver the best guest experience and your review will help us keep it up! We hope to see you again next time!

Agréable séjour en teepee bois dans la jungle.
Très bonne adresse sur Bastimentos, hostel écologique dans la jungle. Séjour en teepee en bois de grand confort (il ne manque qu’un frigo, même s’il est disponible à la cuisine commune). Bonne literie, magnifique vue sur la jungle depuis la terrasse du logement. Présence de grenouilles rouges, paresseux et capucins. Bar restaurant sans prétention mais efficace. Ambiance auberge de jeunesse très sympathique. Départ d’excursions organisées sur site. Je recommande chaleureusement.

Pas d eau dans la chambre, on nous dit que ça revient dans 10min mais 4h plus tard soit le soir toujours rien et le monsieur qui réglait cela allait partir sans rien nous dire, on lui demande ce qu’il en est, il nous dit que le problème sera réglé le lendemain. Nous lui demandons de changer de chambre et il passe le relais à sa collègue qui elle nous trouve une autre chambre… La première chambre familiale a l étage était sympa mais nous avons été déplacé dans une standard qui sentait vraiment fort la cave et l’humidité. Au restaurant beaucoup de choses pas disponible et pas assez de table pour manger. En résumé beaucoup trop cher pour la qualité.

Nice private room with AC and hostel vibes
We had a great stay and even decided to stay an additional night. We had a private room with AC, which was excellent! The room was silent and we enjoyed it a lot! Super friendly staff and lots of activities to mix up the guests. If you are too old for dorms but still love the hostel atmosphere and vibes (like we do at the age of 45), get a private room at Selina Red Frog - it´s a perfect combination.

It is called Selina at red frog beach....it is not on the beach....it is 20 min walk to the beach....a snickers bar is $3 and drinks $8 , pancakes $11 and the 10 min boat to get there is $7 each...that is a joke. We will never go back. A big rip off.

Beautiful place in the middle of the jungle and about five minutes from the beach. Very relaxing, nice vibe, no loud music. Just loud enough to keep a nice atmosphere. Young people working there are also very nice and easy going. Most, if not all of them are at least bilingual. One cool thing is that Selina organizes different group walks such as to a far away beach, star gazing on the beach, or searching in the jungle for wildlife.

Never stay at selina
Selina was extremely run down. Very bad service. Extremely dirty. No food available everyday at the restaurant. Wifi was horrible. Rooms we unfinished and had bugs. They dont even finish the rooms with curtains. They just spray paint windows. Horrible place.

My First and Last Visit
You don't want to stay in Selina. Hygiene levels all around the hostel and the quality of the rooms are not on the standard. The staff is friendly and helpful and were willing to help always. One problem, though, is with the style and atmosphere. You don't know who is actually working and who is just hanging around the premises. It is a bit too relaxed and hippie place, more like a volunteer camp than a hostel, which is a business in the real world. As a Global operator, while renovating, it should not be an issue to close the sections entirely and not sell rooms from the middle of the works. According to the renovations, the information was given while making the reservation. The issue was how do you actually conduct the works. I was planning to stay for a week, but half was enough...

Very very nice place and it’s all about warm and good vibes. We didn’t meet people over 35 there but anyone would enjoy their welcoming atmosphere. Our family recommend it!!!

Poor value, good location
When we entered the room for the first time we were hit with a strong smell like moth balls and a musty odor. The sliding glass door to the ground level “balcony” would not lock. We notified the desk and after two hours it was fixed temporarily. The “balcony” was small and crowded by overgrown trees. The room was functional but rather unappealing. The cost per night was quite high and overall it was a poor value. It did have a good location about a 10 to 15 minute walk to Red Frog Beach. We paid extra in our room price for breakfast and then had to pay for our coffee and tea...seriously.

Die Lage ist toll und das Personal meistens freundlich. Sauberkeit wird hier allerdings leider nicht groß geschrieben und alles wirkt etwas verwahrlost. Wirklich schade, eigentlich könnte man mit wenig Aufwand große Veränderungen bewirken.

Relax with a nice vibe
Very nice place. We stayed in a cozy standard bungalow. Food, drinks and service was good. We prefered taking breakfast at another resort, Palmar down on the beach. Cheaper and more selection. Love the common area and always nice chill music playin. Downside, beach bar and surf rental shack were not open every day...

Good pool area and food Music in the bar/pool area was too loud if you were trying to relax, and in the evenings the bar was busy with the staff and the friends, not guests, which gave a cliquey feel.

Good location. Comfortable beds. Close to beach. Food at the restaurant wasn’t very nice and we didn’t find the staff friendly at all! As there weren’t many guests we expected more friendly service but were mostly ignored. The chef was nice. Wouldn’t stay there again though.

Amazing!
I ended up staying twice as long as I had originally intended because I loved it so much! The little pool is perfect, the beach even better and the 5min walk to the beach from the hostel, through the jungle, is magical! The private rooms are great, kitchen is well stocked. The staff are super super lovely. The only thing I disliked is that food, although delicious, takes a veeery long time to be made. Also half the time there are no ingredients to make several of the options on the menu and the same applies for cocktails, so if that was sorted out, the place would be even better.

Bad service and overpriced
We had no roomcleaning in 4 nights. The place is rather dirty, not to mention the dorms look aweful. The service is quite bad, no food options available even thought they are not that remote and you have almost no other restaurant options...the front desk staff was rude unmotivated, but after 2 days they were nice after all. All in all only 2 from 5 mostly because they could so much more with minimal effort but they just don‘t care...not the first time we saw that in a Selina Hostel. We would not book with them again... red frog beach is amazing though

What do you want to do? Beach, pool, jungle or bar
Excellent friendly accommodative staff helped were great. Located on a small island, it is has a very chill vibe, loads of yoga and surfing compared to the very loud (read partying) boca del toro. Beach is very accessible with a five-minute jungle walk. I stayed in a single room but if you are on the low end, dorm rooms are available. Food, pool and bar are there as well.
