Maison pour se reposer

C'est une belle grande maison confortable et très propre avec toutes les commodités souhaités, même les jouets pour enfant. Nous étions 6 adultes et un enfant et avons pris plaisir à faire et prendre nos repas ensemble dans la grande cuisine bien equipée. Elle est idéale pour se reposer, loin du brouhaha de la ville puisqu'elle est située en plein bois. Il y a une belle grande terrasse donnant sur un boisé où on peut y marcher. Superbe!

Beautiful House

Lovely house, everything was great. The outdoor area was really nice, though we were working and did not have time to use it. The only mild issue was the internet dropped once in a while, but I would expect that when out in a rural area. We saw deer and even a bear! We arrived after dark and would have liked a little brighter outside lighting, but worth it for an amazing house.

Awesome place.

Beautiful spacious stay

Stayed with family of 3 children. All got their own beds and own rooms. The house is huge and well appointed, feels like a very well to do family home. With so much space the children were able to find their own corners when they needed which made for a very relaxing environment. The fire was fantastic, loads of wood. Communication was immediate from Amanda and Matthieu, even though we never met them they were charming hosts. No issue or question was too much trouble for them. My daughter loved tinkering on the electric guitar! The secluded location was just what we wanted, a real retreat. We checked out Woodstock and stumbled upon Oriole 9 for brunch with the children and it was fabulous. Everyone’s meals were top drawer, with 2 vegans accommodated too. Try the vegan rueben, amazing 😁 A short drive past Woodstock and we hiked up (2 hours round trip) to the ruins of the Overlook hotel with amazing views, good excercise and kinda eerie. All in all a perfect stay just wished we could stay longer, would love to come back in the summer and do some more outdoor exploring with so much around to check out.

Lovely property with great kitchen

We stayed for Christmas with our adult children. We were able to make a delicious dinner in the well-appointed kitchen. The only issues we had were that the floors were recently redone so no shoes. But the floors, especially the stairs, were very slippery in socks. Bring slippers. Then the house was not warm when we arrived and took 15 hours to warm up. This made for a very cold first night. Still loved the house and would stay again.

Beautiful, sparkling clean getaway

Wow, what a lovely home and property! Off a private road and surrounded by trees, my small group of friends were totally able to unplug and enjoy nature. The home is large and comfortable, and the kitchen is well-equipped. We appreciated that everything was super clean and the hosts were easy to communicate with. Also, we loved all the eco-friendly house products! We hope to return. Thank you!

Charming House In The Woods!

We loved this house!! The area is beautiful and so peaceful. The house is very spacious with plenty of room for several people. The house is fully stocked with everything you need. Communication with the host was awesome!! If we are ever back in the area we'd love to stay here again!

Fantastic house and setting

We absolutely loved this spacious house and stunning setting. Just returned home and still talking about the joy our stay brought us. Well equipped, comfortable and clean and the natural lighting in each room is fantastic. Wonderful main bedroom! Great house for relaxing, cooking and access to Woodstock, Catskills towns, Berkshires, trails and the Ashokan Resovoir. Great restaurants, farmers markets and food. The owner and property manager accommodating, thoughtful, welcoming and available. We highly recommend this lovely house that offers a special upstate experience.

Beautiful home off the beaten track!

We returned today from 9 days at this home. It really is a beautiful house in a wonderful wild setting. The back yard and deck is lovely and the furnishings indoors are very good quality/ comfortable. Loads of birds and wildlife kept us entertained! We spent the week hiking various trails and exploring local towns of Saugerties, Woodstock and Kingston. Home was really well kitted out with utensils, spare towels/ bedding, food quality toiletries etc... plus loads of books in the library (in English and French, for all ages) and toys for younger guests to play with. Our two really enjoyed playing basketball on the driveway. You do need a car here as home is quite remote but if you need to get away from the craziness of life, this is a great place! That said, still got all the mod cons including speedy wifi, so don't feel cut off The welcome info was really thorough and the hosts were helpful and availabile to answer questions at any time. Only downsides were: 1) the white plastic outdoor chairs were quite flimsy for adults to sit on and 2) the floorboards in the two bedrooms (twin and double) at the one end of the house made very squeaky metallic-type noises when walked on (quite noisy if anyone had to get up in the night to use the bathroom). Neither of these points wouldn't stop us staying again as everything else was spectacular and the communication from the hosts was top notch. Thank you for having us! :)

Girls Trip

A small group of friends and I stayed here for a bachelorette trip this past weekend and the house was stunning! The house was SO clean and comfortable and big enough for everyone to have their own space. The location was also perfect! We had a bunch of activities planned in Woodstock and the house was just a quick drive into town. I highly recommend staying here, it exceeded all of mine and my friends expectations! Thank you so much for an amazing stay and making this weekend so memorable for my friends and I!

Perfect spot

The house could not have been better as five adult members got together for the weekend. Plenty of space to spread out, whether for group conversations or quiet reading areas. House was absolutely spotless and is beautifully maintained. Communication with host prior to arrival was easy, replies prompt. We had no issues at all once we arrived at the house because the property information is so thorough and nothing went wrong. Wonderful stay. Thank you again.

Perfect for us once again

This was our second month-long stay at this lovely, spacious home. The house is comfortable and well-equipped, and the outdoor space is wonderful: we greatly enjoyed the large deck and yard leading to a little stream and the woods, and made it a habit to take a walk down the road most days. The property offers the quiet of nature, while at the same time being close to anything we wanted to do: biking at the reservoir, visits to Woodstock and Kingston, hikes, etc. Amanda, the property manager, made sure we were comfortable and well-taken care of. Lovely New England Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. The house was as described, clean, spacious, and in a lovely setting. Plenty of linens, soaps, trashbags, games and even a little coffee for use our first morning! (we arrived late in the evening and didn't have time to shop before arriving) The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pans and spices. I would not hesitate to stay here again. The only things I would address were few lights not working on the path to the door. This was not a big issue but as we were traveling with family members over the age of 75, we were particularly aware of any tripping hazards. Along those lines, one of our party had some trouble with the height of the first and last steps into the house. Again, not an issue for most, but she did require some aid each time we left and returned to the house. A couple of the beds are positioned lower to the ground than usual - again not a problem for most, but if anyone has issues with getting up and down, it's just something of which to be aware. All in all, I would highly recommend you consider this lovely home in your plans. It was perfectly situated between Woodstock and Kingston and I wish I were going back next week!

Amazing House w/Charming Modern Decor

This property is amazing with a charming modern decor! Each bedroom was large. The master en-suite bedroom was huge (approx. 400 sf) with equally large bathroom & an extra side staircase that leads down to a living room (1 of 2) that can be closed off from the rest of the 1st fl with its own access to the deck. The well-stocked kitchen area (has every appliance that I have at home, except for a bread-making machine) was spacious & faced an equally spacious dining area w/a table for 10. The fireplace & wood burning stoves gave the house a cottage feel. Everything was clean & cobwebs/dust-free. The outdoor deck had modern clean lines that had a cushioned L-shaped lounge, long patio table for 10, 2 chaise lounges & 2 large umbrellas which all faced a 1/3 acre manicured lawn w/a fire pit & plenty of firewood stacked nearby, facing the woods (within view of a small pond). I was able to entertain about 20 guests on the deck/backyard area without anyone feeling crowded or not having a place to sit. Although we didn’t use the propane grill, I can imagine that it would be easy to feed 20 guests. The paved driveway near the house provided plenty of parking w/additional parking in a gravel area set to the side that can fit 4 large cars.

Country Farmhouse

The house was everything we expected and more. A great house, clean, spacious and beautiful location. Loved the country farmhouse feel of the house. Everything renovated while maintained the integrity of the house. The owner was very responsive for any and all of our questions/needs. Everything was absolutely perfect. Can’t wait to come back.

So lovely

The house is wonderful: so comfortable and well-maintained, large enough when we had guests and equally fine when it was just the two of us. We greatly enjoyed the kitchen, which was very well-stocked, and the large deck where we grilled, lounged, and entertained. We were able to spread out, both inside and outside, to work or read. The location really worked for us. We biked often at the Ashokan Rail Trail, we were 15 minutes from Woodstock or Kingston, and close enough to Bard and Rhinebeck to take advantage of restaurants and culture there. Amanda and Matthieu were very helpful and responsive when we had questions. Thanks for a lovely month!
