Very pleasant owners-willing to offer advice on getting around- the 333 bus line will get you to much of the CBD - Central business district.
Historic nearby bar/restaurant = the Nelson Hotel “try it”
Bondi Beach - my opinion “underwhelming”. Area surrounding beach is unkempt, trashy- my preference = Manley Beach, take a ferry ride from Circular Quay pron: ‘key’ and spend the day there sunbathing, swimming, eating and ferry ride is fun with fare only $20 AUS round trip adults.
Wi-Fi service is patchy takes a while for it to get warmed up - 1 bar strength not much help. If you are hooked on having strong Internet service you will be disappointed.
Tight space, I was OK with it but 2 people definitely would be bumping into one another.
No A/C... under normal conditions this wouldn’t be an issue. The climate is dry and surprisingly mild at night for the most part here (January) but when there’s a forest fire ravaging your country nearby smoke can drift into your room. I can’t imagine any part of that is good for your lungs, health.
Very accommodating suburb outside central Sydney- BUT
“Hilly” - if you’re planning to walk even to bus stops or to breakfast (wherever) you better not have any walking impairment or be out of shape. No, you don’t have to be a mountain goat but I did think of this analogy after a walk downhill to a closed breakfast place = Arno’s and a return trip uphill to shower again before I went out on another excursion.
Towels- please hosts! Have clean towels available for your guests! I do not need the sheets changed daily but there were 2 unnecessary blankets in the available drawers - it’s summer Hello? Do I have to ask for a fresh towel...my last night I made the error of grabbing the wrong towel from the clothes line, aka, the Dryer.
Turns out this was the one I used at the beach the day before. So I shower, am soaking wet and my options are: step outside in the dark, walk up the unlit steps and locate the other used towel and return to my room without slipping on the ceramic tile steps (I’m wet get the idea of what might go more wrong) or just deal with this dirty option= UGH!
On to Brisbane/ let’s see how this VRBO option works out...oh I’m writing this review after 2 days at a VRBO property there...not Cranky Yankee anymore.
