The best description would be 'Best Value'. You get what you pay for; don't expect extra. A private room and your own shower, which is better than a hostel.
PROS:
-Budget friendly.
-Logistically connected (Metro, RER, Gare du Nord, Gare de l'Est) no more than 20 min to get anywhere in Paris. 1 hour or less to airports CDG and ORY.
-Surrounded by all kinds of food of all price ranges.
-Clean + Functional + Friendly staff.
-The lady that cleans the rooms is the most valuable employee, she is proactive and speaks better English than the rest of the staff.
-Breakfast is above average, very decent.
-No noise.
CONS:
-VERY unstable Wifi signal (1st floor) and very basic, only for text/email.
One guy in the front desk likes streaming videos at night, which makes it worse. Unacceptable in 2019, connectivity is a MUST. I had better Internet in the year 2000.
-No locker to secure valuables. If you feel exposed, best option is your bag and a mini lock. You will be asked to turn in your key to the front desk staff every time you leave the hotel.
-The heating system is set up to a specific temperature, not able to change it. They give you extra blankets tho.
