I frequently travel and prefer staying in LHW hotels. This time, without hesitation, I opted for this particular hotel due to its LHW affiliation. Unfortunately, it failed to meet the high standards associated with LHW establishments. Despite its purported 5-star rating, it felt more like a mediocre 4-star accommodation. The hotel management was accommodating and changed my room, but the improvement was minimal. The overall condition of the hotel left much to be desired, with dirty carpets, outdated facilities, and an ambiance more reminiscent of a basic bed and breakfast. Despite being allocated a room further from the elevators, the thin walls made every squeaky noise audible. Privacy was virtually nonexistent, as even mundane activities of neighboring guests were easily heard. The outdated and slow elevators added to the discomfort, creating an unsettling experience. The hotel's location in Times Square, while central, contributed to the excessive noise levels, making it less than ideal for a tranquil stay. In addition to the rudimentary amenities in the room, I found myself needing to request a kettle by calling the reception. Surprisingly, upon this request, I was informed that while they could provide the kettle, obtaining tea would require a separate call to room service, with an associated cost. This experience further underscores my disappointment, as the hotel's overall set up seems far removed from the expected standards of LHW.

However, despite the hotel's many positive qualities, it is disappointing to note that there are no additional benefits or advantages for guests who are VIP Expedia members. This lack of recognition can be frustrating for guests who have invested in Expedia's loyalty program and were expecting to receive special treatment. I choose hotels based on Expedia program benefits, as the programs used to provide a variety of perks and upgrades. Unfortunately, in this case, it appears that the hotel has not made any effort to acknowledge or reward its VIP Expedia members.

La ubicación es muy céntrica, excelente para visitar de turista la ciudad. El personal amable, las instalaciones son lo que esperas, con una excelente labor de restauración en el interiorismo, la vista desde la terraza es excelente. El interior del hotel se encuentra contemporáneo y muy limpio. No existen muchas amenidades en el hotel fuera del Restaurante PB, Lounge 4 y Rooftop. Las pantallas en los elevadores no funcionaban. Volvería definitivamente.

Nice room. No amenities, not even in the room. No coffee machine. It is very close to timesquare. Wish the bathroom had a tub. Cleaning was on point and the towels were refreshed daily. Overall enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful room and great food at Charlie Palmer on the 4th fl. - I would definitely stay here again. Two areas for improvement: They never pickup at the front desk. Tried 10X. - they should have a doorman to help with the heavy double doors.

The location and sfaff were great. However, the elevators were down 2 of the 4 nights we stayed there. Going up to my room was a handle, after paying so much money to stay there. We had to wait to get walked to our room. Also, there is no ice machine so had to call down to get some. Called 4 times for some ice and still was never received. Location is amazing as well as the amenities. Rooms were big as well

Overall stay was very good. Caution when being approached about transportation to the airport. ONLY licensed vehicles are permitted. Always confirm with the driver prior to departure on their rates. We were told one price by the doorman and placed in a vehicle, we were told a higher rate when we reached the airport.

This hotel is severely in need of updating and better maintenance across the property. The elevators are slow, old and one stopped working during our stay with passengers trapped in there. The staff works hard to manage the ongoing issues. I also had no hot water for the first full day on my arrival. It’s a bit of false advertising to have the best hotel in America list so prominently displayed. The location is excellent for theatre district.

This was easily one of my best experiences ever staying in a hotel. The staff was amazing. I got an upgraded room because it was my anniversary, but the room was awesome. View of Times Square and while we were out they turned down the bed, brought us extra towels and chocolates. I highly recommend the Knickerbocker Hotel.

This is absolutely not a Leading Hotel of the World, we are more than surprised how the hotel manages to meet the LQA standards and not fall out of the collection. No emotional check-in process, no addressing by name, no escort to the room. Minimal facilities in the room and only turn-down service from day to day. On departure we were asked if we could store our luggage, this would not be a problem as long as we brought it downstairs. The check-out itself, apart from asking for the room number, was irrelevant and unfriendly. Whichever LHW hotel tester checks the standards here, this hotel certainly does not. Housekeeping on the other hand was extremely good, room service was excellent.

Shower was clogged. The "city view" was strobing lights flashing into the room where it was difficult to sleep and no blackout curtains that worked properly. No coffee machine in the room. Room was spacious. Good toiletry products from Diptyque. Breakfast was good but a bit ovepriced ($45 per person).
