My husband and I stayed here with our 11 month old daughter and my husband's parents for three nights, May 15th - 18th. The pictures, while great, don't fully convey how wonderful this home is. The lower level, with the living area and kitchen, is cool and comfortable, with large windows that let the sea breeze in. The upper level, with ample sized bedrooms, is much the same. Everyone slept soundly in the very comfortable beds and enjoyed the sound of the waves with the windows open. The deck is bright and sunny and affords peekaboo views of the water. The dining terrace is absolutely sublime, set amongst the lush trees and fragrant jasmine. Each night of our visit, we thoroughly enjoyed sitting out there with a bottle of local wine, watching fire flies blink in the night, and listening to the joyful sound of the birds and waves on the beach. This is a detached, single family home, offering plenty of privacy, but is very conveniently located about a ten minute walk from the train station and about three minutes to the nearest public beach.
In addition to the property being even more wonderful than we'd imagined, the host Giovanni and his associate Daria were warm and inviting. She was very kind to meet us at the train station to escort us to the property and give us a thorough orientation. We were very appreciative of the info sheet provided, particularly regarding details on operating the washing machine and recommendations for local restaurants.
In short, our stay in Monterosso at the "Pretty White House" was absolutely sublime. If ever we have the opportunity to return, we would gladly stay here again. Our only regret is that we had to leave so soon. I really can't recommend this place enough!
