Lovely large villa with ample space for the 10 of us. Had everything we could wish for. Villa owner was very hospitable, even gave me some flowers and a bottle of wine when he realised it was my birthday. We loved the location too. Excellent all round.

Villa Alonia is ideal for a family holiday, in particular the two pools and the fact that they are away from the house and safe with a gate at the top of the stairs leading from the living room terrace. The village of Melidoni is a 5 minute walk with a small supermarket and great taverna. George and family are brilliant hosts and Think Villa who manage the booking are amazingly helpful. They organised a private chef for a celebration dinner and you can get food delivered by loclal ladies via them. All in all a great holiday.

The villa and garden and pool was fantastic. Well furnished, comfortable, plenty of space, lots of little nooks for quiet times, large areas for sociable times, perfectly located and the hosts were incredible. So warm and friendly and helpful. My favourite Villa holiday ever!

Alonia Villa Magical Ambience is a place that truly lives up to its name, as our stay felt magical. We knew we were in for a treat as we had seen the reviews and pictures online, but I have to tell you villa is far more than pictures can show. We truly had a 5* star experience in our 14 days staying at Alonia Villa. All bedrooms are good size rooms, all of them with a balcony or terrace and 3 with access to the grounds from outside. The villa and the property is so well kept and looked after, everything from the kitchen utensil to the outside furniture was in pristine condition, as were the gardens. The air conditioning worked great and there were not many mosquitos, which were our two main concerns before going. To top the fantastic villa our hosts were fantastic; caring and very hospitable. They communicated great with us during our stay and made us feel so welcomed, with a welcome basket and food and samplings from the garden. The ongoing cleaning service throughout our stay was also done with high quality. I can truly say that this is the by far the best renting experience we have had whilst vacationing and I will highly recommend a holiday here. A car is needed but there are so many great places to see and enjoy nearby, and if you want to explore Crete you are straight in the middle. In our book this is a 10/10 and if possible we would score it higher.

Det er er virkelig dejligt hus med en vidunderlig have med krydderurter og frugttræer - til fri afbenyttelse. Vi blev modtaget med mad i ovnen, vin, grøntsager og hjemmelavet olivenolie af værtsfamilien som var SÅ imødekommende. De sødeste mennesker. Vi vender meget gerne tilbage.

Das Haus ist ausgesprochen luxuriös, sehr großzügig geschnitten, sehr sauber, in einem wunderschönen Garten gelegen und mit allem ausgestattet, was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub braucht, einschließlich netter Add-ons wie Pizza-Holzofen, großem Grill und einer kleinen Fitnessgeräte-Ecke. Die Gastgeber waren ausgesprochen herzlich und haben uns mit einem leckeren Pastitio-Auflauf und Hausführung begrüßt. Leider konnten wir die Restaurants im Ort nicht testen - dafür waren wir zu früh da, aber es gab einen großen Supermarkt im Nachbarort und daneben auch ein gutes und sehr günstiges Restaurant. Zur Melidoni-Tropfsteinhöhle kann man einen sehr schönen Spaziergang in knapp 30min machen, Rethymno und Heraklion sind in 30 bzw. 45min erreichbar. Wir haben uns dort wirklich sehr wohl gefühlt und werden sehr gern wiederkommen.

Alonia is a fabulous villa for a family stay We were a group of six adults one teenager and three children it was perfect for us. The pools were fabulous and the gardens with all the aromatic herbs and fruit trees were a delight. The Mountain View’s were beautiful and enough to do locally Melidoni caves, Reptiland and the honey museum are all worth a visit. The hosts were just amazing so friendly and a gave us a very warm welcome and villa tour. The welcome basket they provided was great and they even supplied a special gluten free one for our daughter which was so thoughtful and appreciated. We would highly recommend this villa and the lovely hosts and we hope yo return in the future.

Lovely villa, well located for an easy walk to the village and playground. Pools were beautiful and warm and the villa was absolutely spotless. The nearest towns and beaches are not very touristy and parking can be tricky, but worth visiting to explore the area. The caves and reptile sanctuary are well worth a visit. Would definitely recommend - plenty of space for all and the hosts are wonderful. Thank you!

Haus, Ort, Gegend, Pool - alles wunderschön. Das Haus ist sehr gut aufgeteilt, sauber und gepflegt und bot uns 6 Erwachsenen und 5 Kindern (1-6 Jahre) genug Platz und Freiraum. Die Pools und Außenanlagen sind perfekt zum tagelangen abhöngen geeignet. Im eigenen Obstgarten bekommt man von den Vermietern gerne auch eine Führung und darf sich von reifen Früchten auch bedienen. Im Ortskern von Melidoni gibt es sehr gute Restauration und Geschäfte für den täglichen Bedarf sowie nette Ausflugsmöglichkeiten auch für Kleinkindern (Melidoni Cave, Reptisland). Das nahegelegene Meer bietet einige sehr schöne und leicht erreichbare STrände. Wir sind sehr zufrieden und würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

Alonia Villa. Stayed here with my family- 6 adults and 2 children. First thing to say is the Villa looks as good in reality as it does in the pictures. Everything is of a high standard, décor is excellent, everything is clean and tidy. Lounge and dining area are great social spaces with ample room for us all. Outside is amazing, both pools very clean with ample loungers and tables. BBQ makes for some great evenings outside. The gardens are beautiful and very well looked after, providing extensive herbs and fruit. Alonia Villa exceeded our expectations. Location – We found the location great , just a short walk from the village, small store for day to day needs, excellent restaurant in the village Carbo and Olive, highly recommend. The nearby Caves and Reptile House are well worth a visit. Plenty of beach options within about 30min drive, Karavostasi beach in Bali is well worth a visit. The Hosts Not only is the Villa amazing, but the host are too, George, his mother and father made us very welcome. The food provided on our first day was greatly appreciated and delicious as was the mid stay cake and Easter eggs for the children, a truly lovely gesture. They made us feel very welcome and made our stay feel very special. An amazing Villa with amazing hosts.

Der Gesamteindruck liegt bei 6 von 5 möglichen Sternen. Es war einfach alles perfekt von der Sauberkeit, ausreichenden Platz, Grundstück! Wir hatten hier unser bislang tollstes Ferienhaus was wir bislang gebucht hatten! Die Gastfreundlichkeit der Familie (wie auch schon in anderen Bewertungen beschrieben) war unbeschreiblich! Es mangelte uns bei Ankunft an nichts! Essen war gekocht und erste Lebensmittel standen bereit. Superherzliche Familie!! Diese Unterkunft bzw. Villa können wir nur jeden Urlauber empfehlen und wir kommen mit Sicherheit wieder!!

Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit in diesem sehr großen und perfekt ausgestatteten Haus. In der Küche und Bad war alles, was man braucht, bereits vorhanden (Duschgel, Shampoo, Toilettenpapier). Es gab ausreichend Waschmittel, Geschirrspülmittel und sogar Kohle für den Grill. Dazu wurden wir noch mit einem riesigen Korb voller Obst, Gemüse, Kaffee, Brot, Oliven, Gebäck und noch viel mehr beim Empfang überrascht. Und das war noch nicht alles. Dazu hat die Mutter uns einen sehr leckeren Auflauf und Kuchen gebacken. Die Vermieter sind wirklich zauberhaft und liebenswert. Die Gastfreundschaft war so warmherzig, dass wir uns sofort wie zuhause fühlten. Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig am Rand von Melidoni. Von dort sind es nur 5 Minuten bis zum Ortskern. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und schöne Strände sind 15-30 Minuten entfernt. Wir können Melidoni und das Haus zu 1000% empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder.

We are family of 8 ages 75-14 who stayed at the Alonia villa for two weeks and none of us wanted to leave. Villa is spacious very clean and comfortable. The outside area is superb we used the out door kitchen area and of course the excellent pool. The owners are so hospitable and generous they kept bringing us traditional food to enjoy, and it was delicious. The welcome basket was also a real treat and being able to pick fresh lemons for our G&T’s was a very special. Would advise anyone considering visiting to book. We would definitely visit again. The small village has a couple of places to eat our favourite was Dill Dill. A visit to the small gift shop/deli called the Cave is also a must they have a great selection of wines from Crete & Greece. We all had a fabulous holiday in sunny melidoni.

Die Villa ist einfach traumhaft, sowohl die liebevolle und hochwertige Einrichtung als auch der wunderschöne Außenbereich lassen keine Wünsche offen. Die Villa ist hochwertig und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Der durchdachte Grundriss ermöglicht es auch mit einer Großfamilie und Kindern immer mal wieder Ruhe zu finden. Die Vermieter sind sehr zuvorkommend und total gastfreundlich. Wir haben neben einem Begrüßungspaket auch selbstgemachte Speisen genießen dürfen und uns absolut willkommen gefühlt. Wir können die Villa zu 100% empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder!
