“Wonderful Stay”

Our overall hotel experience was excellent. The location is remote from the town which was expected being in the jungle. It took us about 20 minutes to walk to the main road. Taxi to the town was about 40 pesos. Breakfast was adequate and Dinner menu was great. The staff helped us to answer all our questions and made arrangements for the taxis whenever we needed them.

“La Cantera - Quiet Jungle Retreat”

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel. I didn't use it as a base other than one trip to Iguassu. I preferred it as a quiet retreat where I could read, relax, eat and sleep, just generally recharge my batteries. The staff were superb, the pool is small but well maintained and perfect for cooling off in the midday sun. It's just impossible to fault the hotel on anything - mainyl because the staff are so attentive. Highlight for me was the hammock on ym balcony, with the jungle just a metre or so away. Brilliant. I'd definitely go back here.

“Best hotel ever!”

Sadly we only got to stay in La Cantera for one night on a weekend trip up to Iguazu from Buenos Aires, but I could have gladly stayed there forever! Firstly the lodge is just beautiful - ecologically friendly and blends seamlessly into the rain forest in which it hides. The rooms (or suites) are amazing, and I must say it was the best bed I have ever slept in...if my backpack had been big enough I would have stolen it! Most of all the staff were very friendly, helpful and just generally happy and cheerful. They will organise transport to the falls in Brazil and also in Argentina, with two lovely drivers Esteban and Tom, who do not rip you off. The food in the restaurant was sublime and both drinks/food (even in the mini bar) were no more expensive than in town. I can't recommend La Canterra enough - seeing (and sleeping in their wonderful rooms) is believing. Paradise. We loved it.

“Beautiful luxury in the jungle”

I booked this hotel sight unseen the night before and was very pleasantly surprised. It has a very lovely setting in the middle of the forest. My room was beautiful and huge, with a giant firm bed, beautiful decorations, hardwood floors, and a hot tub. Best of all, one entire wall was a sliding door that could be opened to a large screened in porch, so that being in my room with the lights off was like being outdoors at night- if the outdoors came with a giant bed and hot tub. I thought it was a great value for the money. The only potential downside is that it is about 1 mile off of the highway on a dirt road, and I have been told that some taxis don't want to go there. My taxi went no problem.

“Great place to unwind and visit Iguazzu”

This spotless very well run hotel treats u like loved family! First class service. Won't let u carry your drink from bar to pool. (10 meters.) waitress insists to bring it to you. Service impeccable! Turn down service every nite. Something u dont get in most hotels. Taxi and wait service to falls, both sides. Twice weekly BBQ for extremely low cost.eVery night there is a music show in the dining room with pleasant smiling staff on duty. We stayed 5 days to unwind and we did! Spent 1 night in park but was happy to return to Cantera and they welcomed us back like lost family! I can truly recommend this hotel.

“Enjoyable experience within an impressive natural environment”

We just came back to Australia from a holiday in Argentina .We found in La Cantera Jungle Lodge the perfect place for relaxing sourrounded by the beauty of the natural Jungle of Misiones. The lodge and its staff are well prepared to provide a high standard international service without compromising the relaxing environment. We are certainly looking forward to go back and we do not hesitate to recommend La Cantera for those visiting Iguazu Falls. Gustavo & Viviana - October 2011

“THE PLACE in Iguazu... Nowhere else!”

We booked this place while visiting Buenos Aires for 10 days and wow, what a change of scenery...OMG! Wish we had stayed longer... So if you go, stay at least 2 days. The location is awesome, a little bit out of town, and not too far from the falls. I don't like rating hotels as I don't think that all travellers think the same. We don't mind staying in 2-3-4 stars hotel...As long as it brings a new experience, we're happy. This hotel surprised us a lot. It's cozy, and has all the amenities of big places...in the jungle! Really! And this is what's awesome about it. Big screen tv meets, nice porch in the jungle...Your choice! Now, if you go there remember, it's hot and humid... Controlling the humidity is difficult, if not impossible, so if you are picky about odours and don't like them, then it's not for you! So, don't go and then when you get back home write bad reviews! We've stayed in places that advertised themselves as 4 and 5 stars and did not come close to this hotel. The staff was so nice, the breakfast was really good, and at the price we got it from expedia it was a steal... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for a first experience in the jungle! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

“Gem in the Jungle!”

I will stay here again! It was friendly, romantic, and peaceful. Yes it is out of the way just a bit, but it is worth the walk and/or the cab fair. Other reveiws had suggested the staff was unfriendly and didn't speak english?? Are you a traveler or a tourist? I found just the opposit. The staff was helpful, yes they have certin taxi drivers they call, but they are safe and can be trusted. They did speak english, but when your in Argentina in the middle of the jungle?? What does one expect??? The trip to Iguazu was worth every $$ I spent to get there. The town of Iguazu was very low key with some outstanding resturants. I would definitly return to this hotel, it is a gem in the middle of an amazing jungle. Next time I will bring some febreeze because my things started to smell a little musty from the moisture, but if you had a bad since of smell you probably won't be bothered :-). We also met some amazing people during our stay, there is a nice relaxed feel to this place. Yes they have WiFi, but having conversations with other travelers from around the world was a breath of fresh air.

“great hotel to stay while visiting Iguasu falls”

Very large room, furnished nicely and well-maintained, great bathroom and the patio. Great value! Loved the staff and service. It is very easy to arrange tours/transportation to see the Falls from the helpful agent in the lobby. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and clean. I loved the interiour. We had a great terrace with a view to forest. The breakfast was nice. The location had a luxurious and higher class appearance.
